Lol
@@atmt06 Congratulations!
I dont mean to be so offtopic but does anyone know a tool to get back into an instagram account??
I was dumb lost the login password. I would love any assistance you can give me
@Bruce Eugene Instablaster ;)
My friend named her daughter Seven because she was a rainbow baby and there are 7 colors in the rainbow. I have seen other women name their child Seven for the same reason here in the U.S.
that’s a beautiful connection!💛
I've also heard of people naming their daughters Siete (seven in Spanish) 🥰
That is a really unique name! Is your friend a Seinfeld fan cause George wants to use that name
May I ask, what’s a rainbow baby? Sorry I feel stupid asking but I have literally no clue.
@@Madison-rose No worries! I'd be happy to explain rainbow babies. A rainbow baby is often the name coined for a baby born after losing a baby due to miscarriage, infant loss, stillbirth, or neonatal death. The idea comes from rainbows appearing in the sky after a storm, symbolizing hope and healing after a difficult experience.
As a fan of Friends, all I can hear is Monica saying “seven, seven, seven”. Hysterical that a child’s name should remind me of a scene describing sex.
Ermias comes from the late rapper Nipsey Hustle that was killed. He was very influential, and a lot of people loved him. It’s a tribute for sure
Seven is apparently the perfect number and also is biblical so could tie to rest. Maybe that’s why it’s growing?
Esther Stewart Seven as a name has always been popular in the Christian community for this reason 👍
My mom almost Named my brother Seven if he had been a girl he would of been Seven.
I think 2020 was a seven year
As my parents are from Germany, I would love to have a video with german names! Hope you can enjoy the christmas time with your children!
Yes I MUST - there are so many brilliant ones! x
@@SJ_Strum I've seen some people name their kids Otto, Otis and Emerson and say its german. So I was curious as I've only ever met an Otto in germany out of those and it was a grandpa lol
Checked Emerson on a german site and it said it's english, then on an english site it said it was german so now I'm confused haha
@@oceanstaiga5928 i live in Germany and have Never heard if someone called Otis or Emerson here! I know some ottos though!
@@oceanstaiga5928 I believe Otis is an old German name meaning wealthy, though I'd also say Emerson is English, meaning "son of Emery" with Emery being a last name.
Otto is an old German name meaning wealthy too, Otis may be a variation of it.
Otto is a grandpa name and all three names are rare here for kids lol
Chloe and Beans have an Otto, but they're from Australia :D
My brother (who’s 27) is called Otto, our paternal grandmother is German so my mum wanted to use a German name as a nod to that heritage 😊
I do love German names. The pronunciation of Toby is more like Torby which I’m obsessed with!
Just had my little one 2 days ago!!!
Welcome to the world, Atlas Lucian Vidar Latimore!!!💖
congrats mama!💛
Love the name Lucian!
Ahhh what a lovely name, Atlas is my top boy name if we’re lucky enough to convince!
Congrats, what an awesome name 💜💕
Love the name! Congrats!
Atreyu pronounced
" A-tray-you" is a character from The Never ending story" so similar to Atreus ! Love both versions !
Haha thought of the same thing !!
Ah cute!! xxx
It's also an amazing band!
@@CyborgSlayerNila agreed!
I have a suspicion that Atreyu is what's informing Americans pronunciation of Atreus rather than going with a more traditional pronunciation.
Salem and Ambrose are both form The Chilling Adventure of Sabrina on Netflix! I've got say Seven is my favorite from this list though. Much love to you SJ! I love watching your videos every Monday
How funny! I've not seen that - so unusual aren't they! xx
Anyone think Theodora is also on this list because it sounds like Theodosia from Hamilton ?
I was going to comment the exact same thing!😂
I remember Molly Ringwald in For Keeps, naming her baby Theadosia. They called her Thea. It was a cute 80's movie.
yesssss that’s actually one of the reasons it’s one of my favorites 💀
I've always loved Salem for a girl. Theodora is pretty in a classical kind of way. The others I do not care for.
My daughter is now 6 weeks old, I'm actually a bit sad that shes here and I dont need to look for any baby names anymore!! Haha i still watch your videos! We named her Roxana (Rox-ah-na). It means dawn or little star :)
Oh that’s such a sweet name. I absolutely love ❤️ Roxana
That's cute q coworker named her daughter roxanne
Roxana is sooo beautiful
Congratulations Roxana is so lovely
Seven is also a spiritual number. It signifies completeness / perfection.
The video seems to cut off suddenly! I was loving it and waiting for the top boy name 😂 Keeping us in suspense, SJ 🥰
Same here
Seven is from Seinfeld. George Constanza wanted to name his child Seven but his friends stole it. He also suggested the name Soda. 😂
Yess, that's the first thing I thought of when I heard the name Seven
Yes! First thing I thought of 😂
Yesss! I can hear his voice in my head losing it when he found out that used it!
Such a good list, would love a part 2 in the future!!
I’ve been so busy these days I’m not on CZcams much anymore, so exited to watch one of your videos again!! Especially considering just a few days ago, I found out I’m pregnant with my 3rd baby! ❤️
Ahh hey!!! Welcome back :-))) Wow I'm so happy for you! 3 is a lovely number xxxx
AWWW!!! CONGRATS ON YOUR NEW BABY🎉🎉🎉!!!!
How exciting! Congrats!!
awwww congratulations!
My name is Imani (ee-mah-knee).... it’s Swahili for Faith.
Ermias is the given name for rapper and community activist Nipsey Hussle who was assassinated last year.
Another visually appealing video like always SJ well done
I loved this
❤️. It would be so cool if you and Raquel Cruz got together & did a popular american name list.
Theodora is a character in The Haunting at Hill House. I think it's a cool one if you like masculine names for girls. I'm a fan!
I’ve met twin girls who were Salem & Sabine! Adorable
In the US the spelling Oakley is much more popular than Oakleigh and Cairo or Kairo are more popular spellings over Kyro. Both are definitely names that have grown in popularity recently.
I was wondering if you had thought of doing a video of favourite name from the great British bake off. There been loads of contests, a few presenter and there might be some bakes that could inspire names. Love your videos 😊
That’s a really good idea I love that show! There’s so many interesting names like Noel, Prue, Briony, etc
@@Julia-yv9jt i love prue! This TV show I watch, this character had a baby girl and called her Pruitt or Pru for short, after their fire chief who died ! Think it's so precious
Eliel is popular in spanish communities and it's pronunciation is with two syllables Eh-liel, but not eh-leel. Almost like el-yell
Like "Daniel", but with an "El" at the beginning instead of "Dan"?
I just can’t take Seven seriously because it’s what George Costanza wanted to name his kid in Seinfeld 😂
I know a little girl named Navy. I had never heard it before and was dazzled by it. It fits her so well.
Salem has definitely been booming. I’ve met several families with a daughter named Salem in the past few years. Even with the nasty parts of the Salem Witch Trials’ history, the nerdy side of me still thinks it’s cool. 😆
Eliel and Yaritza are very common in the Spanish Speaking Caribbean countries.
Yes. Very popular in Puerto Rico
I've noticed in general from social security data that often the fastest rising names are names that are quite common or popular in poc communities. It seems they often have a flash-in-the-pan moment among a wider audience and then either stay put or slide back down the charts. It's an interesting look at cultural dynamics in the US really.
Hey SJ! Lovely video as always ❤
I'm Greek and in Greece "Atreus" is pronounced "Ah-tre-as" so you pronounced it in a lovely Greek accent😊
P.S: you look gorgeous!!
You are my favorite youtuber,I love your channel so much!!
Ah thank you Andromeda! xx
@@SJ_Strum Omg I can’t believe you answered. As an American this video was so fun to watch! Thank you so much, continue doing what you do!
Such a fun list. I really like Kyro!
Giveaway!
Thanks for this interesting list, SJ! :)
Highlight of my Mondays 😊
Seven is the name of a boy in the movie The Hate U Give which is quite popular! I think it’s such a nice name
& the first son of a blogger Indy Bleu :)
Atreus is super cute - I like the nickname Tre for it!
I love watching your videos every week SJ. Considering what the world has been through this year, I think it would be cool if you made a list of bay names that mean strength and health or peace and comfort. Like for example, the name Valentina means healthy and strong, Zale means sea strength, and Wyatt means strong, also like Allegra means happiness.
In live in South Louisiana and the name Oakleigh has been on my list forever! I’ve always loved the name and felt it had such a cute southern charm to it! Also a baby boys name I’ve been seeing everywhere here recently is Beckham!! So cute🥰
I loveeeee the name Salem! I’m from the US & I think I like it because it has a fall feel to it & I cant describe why! Maybe because of the Salem witches? It think it makes a beautiful gender neutral name.
I was almost called Salem because I was born in Salem, Oregon! I’ve known a few girls called Salem, some use Sally as a nickname for it :)
I’ve been a huge fan of yours for a while, I rewatched all of your baby name videos over the last 9 months trying to name my second baby!
She arrived on December 7th, her name is Calla Tamsyn 💕 our little flower
Ahhh Kenndel!! I'm over the moon for you - what a stunning name - massive congrats to you all! Thanks so much for letting us know xxx
Love Calla 😍 congrats
Cute! Congrats!!
CONGRATS ON THE SWEET BABY GIRL🎉🎉🎉🎉!!!! Her name is soooo beautiful!!! I love the name Calla & her middle name has such a unique lovely sound to it!!! Enjoy your new bundle of joy and try to get some rest whenever you can LOL!!! Congratulations Again 🎊🎊🎊!!!
Beautiful name! It flows very nicely. Congratulations!
I noticed a lot if these names sound like names of a main character in a fantasy novel and I love it! So cool!!
Love your hoodie sj 😂😘
I requested this last week, but can you please do baby names that have songs with their name?
I like this idea! Ophelia, Arabella, Guinevere are some girl options that come to mind.
Oh and Marjorie and Dorothea from the new TS album.
I love this! Elton John songs come to mind for some reason lol... Levon, Daniel, Bennie... :)
delilah (florence and the machine and hey there delilah), rhiannon, michelle, jolene, there’s so many!
And Betty and Inez from TS folklore :)
I literally had 5 ads in this video but totally worth it loved the names in the video
My nieces name is Katalia like Natalia but with a K I find it to be pretty unique . I haven’t found anyone naming that except her.
I love it!
Mine baby's Katiria ❤️
Please do a ‘Music themed’ playlist! We have a baby boy but would love your input for the next one! How do we apply for the personal consultation? 🎵
What do you think of Thomasina? It’s been on my radar lately and gives me similar vibes as Theodora.
I think I like it. And I think I agree about the Theodora connection.
I love Thomasina for a girl. It reminds me of a Disney movie I saw as a child. It was about a cat. I think it was called 'The 9 Lives of Thomasina".
We went with Kael Arthur for our new bundle, but I'm still addicted to your baby name videos. (Pronounced kayl)
YES A NEW VIDIO, I loveee, my birthday is so soon, my friends having a baby
Ah my daughter is a december baby! She pops up at the end!
i’ve been hearing sooo many Navy’s and Salem’s in the past 5 years but the rest were super unique!!
I met a girl called Jerusalem the other day and she went by “Jerry”, how cute!
It sounds pretty masculine to me tbh
So cutee!
I worked with a girl name Jerusalem as well but she went by Jeru (pronounced like “Yuru” super unique
I like the name Journey!
@@TheRingette that is a good name for a boy. I like Jerusalem. Could be called Salem as a nickname for a girl. But Jerusalem for a girl, I would spell the other nickname Jeri. I have absolutely fallen in love with the name Jerusalem now. Twins could be Jerusalem and Journey.
Salem, Navy and Theodora are on our list for girls! The boys, I find these all quite soft and lovely whereas I like much more strong and bold boy names!
Hi SJ, you are the reason why I'm obsessed with baby names 😊 I was wondering if you could do an updated Hebrew baby name list in the future ❤️ Lots of love xxx
Hi there, I make baby name videos as well 😁 I really like your name btw!
@@wildnfearless9840 Thank you 😊
Thank you for mentioning the second pronunciation and meaning of Salem. How interesting!
Wow! I don’t know anyone with these names on their lists, besides Salem :)
i look forward to your videos every monday. i was wondering how you feel about the name dahlia?
Giveaway: I love the name Navy, especially as a girl’s name. 💙
What a cool name!
Hey SJ! I’ve been watching your videos for a long time! 🥰 have you ever mentioned the name Isadora? That’s what we plan to name our baby girl 🥰
I have a coworker named Michelley similar to Michelle but with a “lay” ending sound to it
I'm from the US, and I've noticed that most of the little girls (2-7) I know are named Emily, but I know a fair number of Oakleys, and I went to school with two Sevens and a Nayvee!
I am from the United States too and most little girls I know that age are Isabella, Olivia, Charlotte and Ava or Lily or some variation of Lily and Sofia/ Sophia.
I'm from Atlantic Canada and the name Oakley is popular as a dog's or cat's name.
There are three Sophias in my son's class this year and one more in his grade. (He's ten and in 5th grade.)
cause emily is a cute name 😜
My daughter was born in May and her middle name is Alayah (Alaia), I loved the name Winnie as a first name but decided on Winter Alayah, but we always call her Winnie ❤️
Winter Alayah is lovely ❤️
Thank you ☺️
Too cute!!!
Hi SJ, we had our little boy 2 weeks ago on the 1/12/20. His name is Edward Neil 💙
Congrats! Edward is such a sweet name 💙
I have a little one due in June and love watching your videos for inspiration xx
I love the name Navy. Short, cute and easy to say
These are super fascinating! As an American I can understand Navy, but the others....those exist?!? Crazy sauce, right there! Theodora is also so beautiful, I want to use it myself so bad! I hope my future husband will be flexible enough to handle my ideas of baby names, because I really want to use names like these just as much as I wish I were already married. Thanks for this amazing video, as always SJ!
Anyone watch Seinfeld?? I had to laugh 😅. You'll understand why.
I'm surprised Soda isn't on the list too! lol
love the name oakley!
Wow! I was excited for this list as an American subscriber but it hit even closer to home since I am from Salem, Massachusetts!! I’ve actually proposed this as a middle name to my partner as an ode to our hometown but he doesn’t like it. I think part of the rise might be from model, Salem Mitchell. As for the name Seven, the number is considered very lucky and spiritual, so I’m not surprised it is the most popular number name!
List (girl-boy alternate)
10) Salem
10) Archie
9) Ainhoa
9) Atreus
8) Oakleigh
8) Seven
7) Alaiya
7) Eliel
5) Aziel
5) Yaritza
4) Amber Roze
4)Emani
3)Kyro
3) Navy
2) Amias
2) Theodora
1) Ermias
1) Amoura
Thanks be a great video
I have a friend named Elea, the pronunciation is exacly like Alaia/Alaiya.
I know of an Aaleyah pronounced the same also
I love watching these because I read some of the names and I keep thinking how differently I would pronounce the names. And since I’m having a baby in 2021, my daughter will most likely go to school with children who have these names so I appreciate the pronunciation. 🌟✨🌟
I’ve been hearing Salem around hear a lot online! I think that a lot of people have a fascination with witch culture and dark history. My guess is that it’s rising just because people think it’s really cool to be associated with something dark and mysterious. It’s also the capital of Oregon.
Reminds me of the cigarette brand, Salem 🥺
Seven is also a Seinfeld reference. It’s George Constanza’s favourite name and someone steals it. 🤣
Great! I think it would be fun to have a video of names with meanings. I've always been a fan of the first and middle names having a balanced meaning with one being strong and the other soft. Briana (strong) Marie (beloved) and Drew (strong) Lennon (lover)
I really like the name Seven. I think it would common for people to misread it as Steven though. Numbers can have so much sentimental meaning as well as numerology meanings, so I think that could be a cool naming trend!
Did the end of this video get cut off?
I named my baby girl Salem this year because i wanted something i didn't think would be popular so you wouldn't have a bunch of kid's with that name, guess i was wrong.
That's what happens. Everyone thinks that and boom! I don't think it'll be popular just more popular than it is now. May not last either. I like it too but I've seen it literally everywhere, same with Navy. They both seem so new and fresh but they're new and fresh to a lot of people at the same time. Beautiful name!
The way you pronounce "Ainhoa" reminds me of the Finnish word, "ainoa" which means the only one.
That's so sweet
in the book ‘The Hate U Give’ there is a character called Seven so maybe the idea comes from that as well
Last time I was here I was naming my sim now I'm naming her baby....sml these are wonderful
Theodora is from the Netflix show the Haunting of Hill House. A Netflix trend name!
I thought you had read my mind when you said Theodore Amias; that was the name that popped into my head after you tried Charlie! crazy😂
Giveaway! I could see both Ambrose & Salem rising because of the Sabrina ( love the name Zabrina w/ a Z ) Netflix series. Love both of those names for a boy! Seeing Navy shoot up in the US does not surprise - possible military ties / patriotic US vibes!
Atreus reminds me of Atreyu from neverending story♡
Your sweatshirt is amazing
We live in France and one of my daughter’s best friends is named Ainhoa. I’ve never heard it before but I love it. It’s pronounced here with the emphasis on the first syllable.
Because of Star Trek, Seven is such a girl name to me I could never see it for a boy!
I used to have the double-barrelled names "Salem Artem" and "Blair Athene" picked out for years. I'm still fond of them!
I love the idea of having work named theodora nicknamed teddy, that's adorable!
Being from the US, this list was really interesting! I have to say Netflix must influence a lot of moms lol. Archie from the Riverdale series; Salem most likely from the Sabrina series revival; and Seven probably comes from Eleven from Stranger Things as you mentioned. Also remember you saying in another video that parents tend to choose names that sound like Luck or mean Lucky and thinking lucky number 7 could come into play. I have always loved the name Salem- pronounced liked the MA town, not like Jerusalem. I think we are getting to the generation of moms that grew up on Hocus Pocus perhaps? I think it's an ode to a magical themed name, but perhaps more wearable than some. Sal or Lem or Al could be cute boy nicknames, although I've always imagined it for a girl.
I would pronounce the names ending in 'mias' with the long 'i' sound (eye). Armīas/Ermīas. I am from Australia.
That's how I say them too
Same! American, but agreed it would be my-us for me. Same with names ending in lias - lye-us
Seven is also a star trek character name 😁
My little boy was born on November 24th! I names him Theodore (Teddy) David. He was 7pd8oz and 48cm long.
It took me 24 hours to name him, Theodore wasn’t even on my list, his middle name was always going to be David, after my father who passed away when I was 16.
Theodore means “Devine Gift” or “Gift from God” and David means “Beloved”
I had an Uncle Archie who I loved very much because after my dad died he was always there for me. When my Uncle Archie died I was very sad!
OMG NOOOO SALEM HAS BEEN ON MY LIST FOR YEARS :( hahahaha I'm dramatic but I don't want it to be in the top 1000
It’s still not too popular
ME TOO NOW IDK WHAT TO DO 😭😭😭
Seven could also be from star trek, seven of nine
Love the name Oakley, it’s on my baby list for both a boy and a girl💗
Ainhoa is from the south West of France, pays Basque ! Very proud People, one of the last regions of France, with Brittany, to still be very attached to traditionnal names in the original dialect of the region. Ainhoa is in Basque langage, and sometimes spelled Aïnhoa. It is very common in the area, but not so much elsewhere.. Really particular to the Pays Basque ! Loooove the name as well haha. They are known to be fierce ladies, with temper ! They can be very sweet as well.
Oooh this is so great info to have thank you very much for adding :-) Amazing that it's trending over in America - I love the Aïnhoa spelling. xxxxx
I never heard of Salem being used for a human but I love it!
Amias remind me of the word omnius.
I work with a girl called Stormie, first time I've heard someone actually be called that apart from Winx club XD
seven is the name of a character (my favourite) from the game mystic messenger!! i like it, but in my country it wouldnt work out
I was thinking the same thing!
