  • The Kerry Wild Bee Festival 2024 held by Transition Kerry in association with the dedicated team at Tralee Bay Wetlands Ecology Park & the Lakeside Café. It was truly was an extraordinary event that brought together nature enthusiasts, biodiversity experts, and community members to celebrate and learn about the crucial role bees play in our ecosystem. Held on the weekend of July 6th and 7th, the festival transformed the beautiful surroundings of Tralee Bay Wetlands Ecology Park into a hub of ecological education and community engagement, events that were full of creativity and great fun for children and adults. We were delighted to welcome both familiar and new faces over the two days of this festival.
The festival's incredible success was largely thanks to the tireless efforts of Niamh Ní Dhúill, organiser and volunteer at Transition Kerry, along with Mary O'Connor, Manager of Tralee Bay Wetlands Ecology Park, and her colleague Alan Balfe, Education & Wildlife Officer. Their hard work, dedication, and meticulous planning were the backbone of this vibrant festival, ensuring the programme was a seamless experience, where attendees could both enjoy, network and learn.
