As an owner of the company’s mutt, manticore, and arctic fox stones. I have to say that the mutt is the best coarse stone I’ve ever owned. Most coarse stones wear out more quickly than finer ones, but the mutt is super resilient to wear and leaves a pretty smooth finish despite how fast it removes steel. I use it on all of my axes, machetes, and shovels. Pretty much any bladed tool that gets extreme use or reprofiling hits this stone.
The manticore is best for fixing extreme damage or reshaping in general, it’s removes almost as much steel as a double cut file! It’s nice that the company made one in the shape of a file so it’s easier to fix individual spots.
The arctic fox is a nice medium-fine all-rounder for getting a nice edge on a knife, it leaves a very smooth satin finish. It really soaks up water and holds it, so it’s best to soak it for ~30 minutes before you use it. It will develop a good slurry on the surface.
I’m really looking forward to getting the company’s extra fine bench stone whenever they rerelease it. I love what your company is doing dude. Keep it up!

These work great for shovels! Today I had to plant a tree in 90 degree heat and probably 100 percent humidity. My treasured old shovel was butterknife dull. A few minutes with this abrasive file and the digging effort in hard pack soil was half. If you own a shovel and actually use it, you need this file. Thanks for reading.
