      @@jaycarl1562 I did buy the a7iV and personally I love having the sensor crop option. I have run into it a few times that it is a bummer at 4k60, but personally I have used it to give me some extra crop on my lens almost every video I film. I am primarily using a 28-70 sigma, so that super 35 mode helps me get it more to the 105mm which I like because I used to film almost exclusively on a 28-105.

    Two huge things no one ever seems to mention regarding the a7IV video that Im glad you did. In 4K 24 and 30, its oversampled from 7K,. The a7S III comes nowhere close to that resolution as it can only do around 4.2K. Also, the crop on the a7IV 4K 60 is no big deal. Most every cinema camera from ARRI, RED, as well as the Sony and Canon cinema cameras, have sensors around the same size as that (APS-C) crop in 4K 60 on the a7IV. I chose the a7IV. Its $1k cheaper, its a TON better for photo, has a better AF system, separate photo and video settings, 7K resolution video and I dont need 240fps. Its pretty much the perfect camera IMO.

    • @ViralVideos-pr2oi
      @ViralVideos-pr2oi Před 2 lety

      Resolution doesn't matter. People love to crop in 400% to show you a minor difference. But where in cinema are you cropping in 400%? The uncropped images side by side look the exact same. The terrible rolling shutter makes the Sony a7IV a no go for me.

Which in those cases, like filming races or birds flying or something like that, just switch over to aps-c mode and get the improvement. It’s still being downsampled from 4.6k to 4k so it’s gonna look fantastic no matter how you shoot with it.

Have decided to purchase the A7 IV (yeah, again, no Sony experience) but experts seem to like it as a hybrid and mid-cost camera. I think you like it too from what I think I heard in the last 10 seconds. I think I'll look for a 24-70mm 3rd party zoom but I noticed how the 16mm worked for you in the desktop video I referred to above, so maybe I need more input on the lens. I just got both last month! I find that having one of each makes everything flexible, and since I use primes I basically get a different focal length at 4k60 on the A7IV.
      I have a feeling the A7siii would get a firmware update with focus mapping, breathing comp, etc.

    Really hoping for a price cut on the A7S III would be really nice to have a slowmo 4k option. My A7S II just won't cut it for that. Goddamn though, 7k is super nice for the a7 IV

    Can you please talk about, or anyone for that matter to encourage Sony to put integral raw like R5 and R5c, or come out with a firmware update for Integral law light for A7sIII. this one thing will put Sony ahead, its surprising that FX6 and FX9 don't have internal raw.

    The rolling shutter was the only thing I was worried about on the A7IV, and I know it's better in 1080p but I don't want to ever film in 1080p again. Storage is relatively cheap and if you keep a good habit of offloading files from the SD card (or record on the Ninja V), then you can always have room to film 4K. Thank you Celeb for the crop mode in 4K experiment to show roller shutter is considerably better. Now I have to find a way to get one into Japan because Sony Japan doesn't offer any camera with the menu language other than Japanese (I'm ok in Japanese but it's just so much easier in English if there are any warning messages).
