You will love Cemetary Gates.
Listen to the entire thing. The video is shortened
Cowboys from Hell too
Cemetery gates is one of my favorite songs all time.
Oh yeah!
I to date listen to Cemetery Gates on the ride home from any attended funeral
When Pantera first found success, they found their pals were treating them a little different as they thought the fame had gone to their heads. Frontman Phil Anselmo explained to Kerrang:
"I wrote this when Pantera were first getting a lot of attention. I came back from touring and my friends had taken it upon themselves to think that I'd changed as a person into this big rockstar. 'Walk' was me telling them to shove that attitude up their ass.

I got to meet Phil and talk to him on 3 different occasions in the past 10 years. He played a club where I worked security. He actually remembered me the second and third times he came to play. He loves meeting new people and is very appreciative of those who still want to come see him perform. Very humble dude and I'll never forget my time spent with him.
@@bryanbyars8142 my friends parents went to Valley Hope rehab here in DFW and said Rex was there. They said he was so down to earth and chill. Apparently he brought a bus one day and grilled out for everyone there. I don't have a way of confirming this story I'm just repeating what I was told. My buddy said he got to play Rex's bass one day as well.
Pantera has soooo many great songs!
This is my favorite Pantera song. Such a killer song. The riff is so iconic. One of my favorite riffs ever. “Domination live in Moscow” should be next. The guitarist is the the last and legendary Dimebag Darrell. So glad you love Pantera
Along with Primal Concrete Sledge from the same concert! (on their official channel BTW Lilly Jane)
Studio version for first reaction. not live
"This Love" is up there for me
This song it's a must to get into PANTERA. Next you can check out the other classic videos like "Cowboys from Hell", "Domination" (the live version is killer), "Cemetery Gates" (there are two version the long one is the original), "Mouth for War", "This Love", "Five Minutes Alone", "I'm Broken", "Planet Caravan" (Black Sabbath cover), "Floods", "Drag the Waters", and "Revolution is my Name".
The style and sound of Pantera is an evolution of Thrash Metal and Crossover Thrash in the 1990's called Groove Metal, with bands like Exhorder, Fight, Machine Head, Grip Inc., White Zombie, 90's Sepultura, 90's OverKill, 90's Testament, Prong, Skinlab, etc, and later post 2000's still going with Damageplan, Hellyeah, Chimaira, Lamb Of God, DevilDriver, Shadows Fall, Killswitch Engage, As I Lay Dying, Trivium, All That Remains, Bullet For My Valentine, etc, even some Hardcore and Metalcore bands like Hatebreed, Earth Crisis, Strife, Integrity, Atreyu, and even some Nu-Metal bands have a little Groove Metal influences like KoRn, Deftones, Sevendust, Slipknot and System Of A Down.
One of my all time favorite metal bands .. omg . Always takes me back to the 90s . This whole album was awesome !!!! 🤘🤘 I wore this cassette tape out
I still miss Dimebag Darrell (lead guitar) he was definitely one of the greats. It's a damn shame what happened to him. The only thing that consoles me is that he will live forever through his music. Let's pour out a Black Tooth Grin for my boy. (If you know what I'm talking about, you're a real one)
Rocked to them when he was still 'Diamond' Darrell.
Cheers to our brother!
Getcha fuckin pull!!!🤘🏾🤘🏾
Saw Pantera in 96’ twice & it was absolutely EPIC! 🤘🏼
I was 16 years old & i literally thought…this is the night I’m gonna die 😂
Stadium seats ripped out, 5 or 6 fires started within the stadium which was outside. It was for the Trendkill tour & Dimebags solos would literally make your ears bleed 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
So happy you loved Pantera, they are their own sound, personified by the subgenre of Groove Metal !!! Sooooooo much to bang your head & mosh your feet to. 🤘🤘🤘🤘 Enjoy the journey !!!
Well Lilly Jane - Judging by you reaction to Walk, I would say the natural progression would be like I'm 'Broken' or '5 Minutes Alone'. Maybe 'Mouth For War', 'Fucking Hostile' or 'Cowboys from Hell'. Personally, I'd go for 'I'm Broken though'...😉😎
I was instantly hooked to Pantera when I heard cowboys from hell playing on the radio in 1990
Domination in Moscow 1991 monsters of rock. Next
ABSOLUTELY! I would suggest investing in an industrial strength neck brace beforehand. It’s IMPOSSIBLE not to headbang to that video!
Eu também, da mesma maneira como você descreveu e na mesma época!
Pantera was considered "Groove Metal." They are also one of the bands that played live in Moscow. Cowboys from Hell, Drag the Waters, Cemetery Gates... Those are likely their most famous besides Walk. For more Groove Metal, consider Snap Your Fingers by Prong
Man, Prongs tone is thicker than a snicker
Studio version for first reaction. not live
I'm glad you've reacted one of those excited and re-spectable video from Pantera. Your reaction on this one is amazing and pleasurable in your own way. Greetings from Brazil, sweetheart!
Best band of that era, every album is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I saw Pantera live in 95 or 96 at the Cow Palace in Daily City CA. Was an awesome concert. The mash pit was insane. Phil hit all the high notes that he was known for. It was a blast.
Check out Cemetery Gates. My personal favorite Pantera song.
Saw PanterA 10 times in the 90’s and early 2000’s. Best band ever. Got to hang backstage with them multiple times too. Long live the brothers CFH!
They are one of the best metal bands you will ever listen too. The guitar is the best part of their songs.
Finally Pantera!! No coincidence that you’re getting into Pantera just after discovering Metallica. They are the opening act for Metallica in several of their upcoming stadium shows. It’s gonna be iconic and I can’t wait for the St Louis show in Nov of 2023!
You mean Pan-thrax Label Society? Lol no hate bro. I can't wait either
@@ryansalmons5279 yeah true, but it’s as close as we can get. Lol, love the meshed up name though 😂😂
Love how you are getting into pantera! Here are a few more songs that I enjoy and know that you would love too!
- cowboys from hell, cemetery, Gates, 13 steps to no where, I’m broken, 5 minutes alone, mouth for war, and hollow!
What a great reaction as always!!Welcome to listening to Pantera, definitely one of my favorites!! And yes their concerts were so crazy, I was young and I ended up w a few bruises, but damn it was amazing!!! I definitely hope you check out ‘Fucking Hostile’ next, aggression at its finest!!!!
Thanx for reacting to this one👏. Opening track from the same album "Mouth for war" is a killer, one of my fav Pantera's songs, so energetic and groovy👊
I'm in my 40s so these guys have been a part of my life from "back in the day" but it's so cool to see your reaction have heard them for the first time! Shout out to those who recommend it!! 💙👊🤘
This Love, Cemetery Gates, Cowboys from Hell, By Demons be Driven, Domination, Floods, Piss in the Wind, Hollow and Becoming. That is a good list of iconic Pantera songs that showcase the bands full musical and creative range and Phil's full vocal range. Phil and the bass player Rex just recently did a reunion/memorial pantera show with zakk wylde (Ozzy Osbourne's main guitar player) and a different drummer whose name I can't recall at the moment in place of the original guitar player and drummer as they are sadly no longer with us. Dime Bag Darrell Abbott was the original guitar player and his brother Vinnie Paul Abbott was the original drummer and they were the founding members of Pantera. You should check out that show after you hear more of the songs with the original members and get a feel for them and their bad ass style. RIP Dime and Vinnie.🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I love how much you love pantera. There one of my favorite bands
I remember going to a Pantera, Sepultura, Prong Concert in Austin Tx at South Park Meadows before it became a shopping Center. talk about a wild Crowd, lots of Slam Dancing as they would call it today, lots of Crowd Surfing going on. The Concert was Amazing nothing like going to a Metal Concert out in an Big Open Venue watching it Live is so much Better than what it sounds like on CD or on YTube. Them and Metallica and Type O Negative were amazing in concert.
Awesome Pantera song! Cowboys from hell, Cemetery gates are 2 awesome songs too if you'd like to check them out. Awesome band for sure. Keep being awesome 👍 🤘
Lily, their entire discography is worth checking out. You've entered a massive rabbit hole. 😅🤟
Great reaction! The 2 songs I recommend are Cowboys From Hell and Mouth For War.
Ive only seen them once on the Vulgar Display of Power tour, which is the album that this song is from, and they were the opening act. They totally blew the main act away, which was Skid Row..They are actually back out on tour now, even though the drummer and guitar player are both dead now. They were brothers, Darrel Abbott and Vinnie Paul. Darrel Abbott, nicked named Dime Bag Darrel was actually shot to death on stage from a psycho fan, right in front of his brother.
Sorry, I don't have telegram or any other social media apps. This is as close as I have, but I appreciate the offer.
Pantera make me love metal music back then 🤟 Walk was a catchy one. But the discography of Pantera is more awesome! tx for the react 🖐️
Pantara "THIS LOVE" is a must listen!!!!!
SO freakin’ weird that I JUST literally was walking through my house after the Lux AEterna reaction, and I said:
“I think Lilly is READY for some PanterA. “Walk” would be epic… “yeah, she hasn’t heard Metal until she hears them…”
24 hours later here we are.
This is a pre-watch comment, so I’ll follow up after I watch the entire video. Crazy..
Edit:
FUCK. YES.
More. Out.
My band actually opened for Pantera on this tour when they came through Tucson. Fucking awesome.
When I was at the Rainbow on the Sunset Strip in LA, I literally ran into Vinnie Paul coming out of the bathroom. "Vinnie?!" "Yeah man," "Thank you for the music." I was going to ask for an autograph, but this was shortly after Dimebag was murdered. I could still see the pain in his eyes. Rest in peace brothers.
Yay! So glad you did Pantera finally!
Old school baby!! 🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽
Seen em twice. Got backstage & had a smoke with the band \m/ \m/
From the balcony you could clearly see the cloud the mosh pit created . Yes, some was definitely smoke, but it was also sweat from the INTENSE pit, just hanging about 12 ft. in the air. It was probably 100 degrees in the Ballroom that night. Awesome.
Arlington/Fort Worth Texas 💪🏻
Lilly, it honestly blows my mind some of the music your just recently hear for the first time lol😎👊🤗
Pantera kicks everyone's ass! Lords Unmatched!
That smile says it all!!!!!
Pantera - Domination - HEAVY!!!
Pantera's whole discography kicks ass. A few of their songs will kick you square in the hoo-ha.
I always find myself bobbing my head with you like I fall in love with these songs again 💚
RIP Dimebag and Vinnie Paul. ❤❤❤ Watch "Cemetary Gates" (long version), "5 Minutes Alone", "Broken", "Cowboys from Hell", "Domination" (from the '91 Moscow concert), "Revolution is my Name", "This Love".
Pantera used to play a club just outside of Ft. Sill OK, several time a year in the late 80's. I think I saw them 5 times or so. You were asking so, yeah. If you found yourself in trouble in the pit, there were always a few huge dudes that would get people off the floor. Those shows had a super fun vibe.
Love this song in the car. Feels great in the summer
Lilly Jane great job with your reaction to the song WALK from Pantera ( RIP the Abbott Brothers Vinny Pau ,🥁 and Dime bag Darell. 🎸) Vinny Pau past away from A Heartache and his Brother DIMEBAG Darrell was a assassinated during a damage plan concert.
Saw Pantera with Morbid Angel and Soulfly and my ears are still ringing from Dime's guitar.
You can’t go wrong with Pantera, every track is great
Really awesome song. I love listening to Pantera. You should really listen to Cowboys from Hell and Cemetery Gates next. These, along with Walk, are my favorites from Pantera.
I saw them twice and it was definitely nuts. I say in the back to take it in - yeah, yeah, I know. Pal of mine went into the bit and got busted up pretty good.
You need to react to cemetery gates next. One of the best solos you will ever see
I’ve been to three Pantera shows back in the day they were always really good really high energy and people went fucking nuts
Saw them in Chicago in the 90's, dude was getting his head busted open during the strobelights on Mouth for War, it was an epic show
@𝑻𝒆𝒙𝒕 𝒎𝒆 𝒐𝒏 𝑻𝒆𝒍𝒆𝒈𝒓𝒂𝒎:@𝑳𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒚𝑱𝒂𝒏𝒆𝑹𝒆𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒔 thank you for the consideration but I'm not interested in prizes, I just enjoy watching you embrace a whole new field of music and look forward to seeing more. Keep on Thrashin'🤘
I'm the biggest Pantera fan but dont miss their song "yesterday dont mean shit" its really hard!
Pantera had an interesting ride. From glam style in the 80s, transforming into hard metal by the end of that decade -- and gaining success *because* of it, which is kind of rare in those situations. They took a heavily progressive turn in the mid-90s, then made my favorite album of theirs (and sadly, their last) 'Reinventing The Steel'...Lilly, I think you will *really* like that whole album. Thanks!
I saw you've reviewed a couple Pantera's since, but you hands down missed the very best song AND video of Pantera: "Cowboys From Hell." This is the epitome of masculine energy quite possibly bar any other song I've heard--and that's saying a lot! The official video was done by a maestro, the editing spot on. It's a similar format with them performing on stage with a riotous crowd--even way beyond this one. It also (thankfully) uses the studio version, so no compromise to sound or intention. I could just see you enjoying this one so much, and know, if you took a chance, you'd love "Cowboys From Hell" even more. It's unfortunate that people gave you suggestions for two songs aside from "Walk" that simply don't hold up. Missing "Cowboys From Hell" is like missing "Sympathy For the Devil" by the Rolling Stones.
This is the kind of song that will send men off to war. Only one woman can be seen and she's on the shoulders of some guy being used as a hood ornament. It is pure pumping adrenaline, lots of slamming, muscles and sweat. See that video and you'll catch a glimpse at what men used to be like 35 years ago, before the modern age's unfortunate reduction in testosterone. These are men in their full glory.
“ Walk on home, boy ! “
R.I.P Dimebag & Vinnie. CFH for life 👊🏻🤟🏻
I first seen Pantera on the cowboys album before they started to get big, then seen them with skid row, also Megadeth on two different albums, Vulgar n Driven . The crowds are tuned in to the music n show 100% .
I miss them so damn much .
I'm so glad n fortunate to have everyone from Metallica on puppets with ozzy, to slayer, metal church, Manson, sabbath, crue, white snake, van Halen ETC....... BEEN TO OVER 150 CONCERTS
if you want to know what its like go and see them live. Pantera is back. they are on tour right now in 2022
I have seen them 11 times all before 2001. Every time was pretty insane. I literally seen a whole lawn area at riverbend music center was a pit minus maybe 500 people out of about 8,000 or more. They tore the lawn up and was throwing it into the pavilion area, and Phil was forced by venue management to tell the fans to stop throwing hunks of grass and mud or the show would be stopped. Just one story of so many to tell.
Their love song=This love.
I seen Pantera 7 Time's Live ( Yea each time was Amazing)
I Loved most of their Albums....But a Great One For You to React to Is ''Hollow'' Of ''Vulgar Display of Power'' ( That Album Has a ton of great Songs)
Domination (Moscow '91)
A MUST SEE!!
PLEASE react to Crossfade - Cold, i think you'll like em! Great Reaction!
First saw Pantera, in '91, at the Backroom in Austin Tx. Phil came our and said "Fuck this! Our Stage is your stage. Give the bouncers the night off. I wanna see some fuckin' Divin'." Have seen them 15+ times since. Even have a huge back tattoo memory of Dimebag. PAANN-FUCKIN'-TEEERRRAAA.
If you want a deep dive of a band this is it! This Was the baddest band on the planet in the nineties. I've seen them live 8 times and They kick your ass every single time. Not to mention they had if not the best metal guitarist of all time! RIP dimebag Darrell
A Pantara show was both the greatest & roughest shows I've ever been on the floor for. But every single person in that crowd was absolutely fantastic. They'd knock you on your ass just to help you back up again.
Saw Pantera with White Zombie in the early 90’s. Head full of acid and in the mosh pit! Fuckin amazing show!!!!!🤘🤘
Domination live in Moscow is a must now that you’ve jumped into the Pantera pool… RIP Dime and Vinnie!!
Domination is my all time favorite song
Think you'd love Coal Chamber - Loco. Same kind of music but its a stomper! Awesome reaction, thank you. Rock on🤘
MI LOCO!!!!🤘🏾🤘🏾
@@UKBornin1971 🤘 yeah brother
I was lucky to see Pantera 9 times . I even still have a guitar pick Dimebag threw out ! The moshpits ranged from fun to brutal ! Not the deadliest ive been in . But one Pantera show was up there ! Holy fuck ! It took them like an hour and a half to start after the opening bands (Eye Hate God and White Zombie ) played . so everybody was getting restless drunk and angry . They lowered a massive curtain and played just the audio of Suicide Notes part 1 . We were all like " WTF ??" the song ended , curtain dropped out of nowhere and one of THE heaviest songs they do , Suicide Notes part 2 hit !!!! It WAS A FRENZY !!!!!
This song song is so dirty and bluesy. I love it. My anthem honestly.
“5 Minutes Alone” and “Becoming” Enjoy 🙂🤘🏻
I've seen all the big 4 back in their classic heyday I'd suppose. My main regret is I never saw Pantera live.... exodus, testament, countless others I saw live . But just missed them. Have to do cemetery gates.
Cemetery Gates! One of the best riffs of all time.🤘
Cemetery Gates there are two version original version and an edit version from the soundtrack to Tales from the crypts movie " Demon Knights" oh " Floods " " 5 minuts alone "" Cowboys From Hell" from album same name " Revolution is my name " hell list is huge
It was fucking awesome!!!
Domination is one of the best metal songs of all time
First Pantera song inheard was cwboys from he'll, Fucking hostile is what really cemented them as my favorite band and all these years later i still jam to these guys. i am (56),still not disappointed by any of their music.
DOMINATION the live video in Moscow. That version crushes without question. Love your videos Rock on 🤘🏻
If you love this one then you'll love Cement Gates. Dime Bag actually plays his guitar into a singing contest with Phil. It's amazing!
I was listening to this right before my HS graduation in 1994 with my crew🤘🤪🤘
You need to check out “This Love”, “I’m Broken”, and “Revolution is My Name”!
5 minutes alone official video.. it's so good.. the visuals and the music... top notch.
To get a real feel for Pantera, watch the live in Moscow “Domination” video. 🤘🤘
She brought the goods!
DOMINATION!!!!!
I saw pantera at Ozzfest 2000. That whole concert was insane.
Floods! Glad you dig you some Pantera
One of the best Dime solos!!!!!!
This Love goes hard too.😎😎🤘🤘👊👊
Oh f**k yeah! Walk on home boy! 🤘 Also Cemetery Gates for contrast and vocals. The softer side of Pantera.
R.I.P. Abbott brothers. 😥
I've been to a few Pantera concerts, the last one I went to I think was with Ozzy. Personally I always stayed out of any pits or anything else that broke out but they were def there each time. I remember at this one outdoor venue the pits would come like waves and I had to get out of the way or get caught in it. Honestly, I was too stoned to get involved in that. I was always stoned back then. 😁 I just wanted to chill and watch one of my favorite bands and guitarist do their thing.
If you react to Cemetery Gates make sure it's the full length, some reaction channels I seen have the first couple of minutes cut out that sets up the song.
They toured with White Zombie, I bought tickets for Zombie... The next morning I went and bought everything they had put out. Instant Fan! Hands down one of the best shows I have had the honor to witness.
Cemetery Gates
Cowboys from Hell
F'ing Hostile
Everything else lol
That's real talent, kid. Can reproduce blood sweat and tears on a computer. Nothing will ever sound this good anymore.
Domination Live, Cemetery Gates (has to be the full version not the short version video)!
You should do all of this album!
i saw pantera a long time ago when they were touring with Ozzfest...sadly the band has been plagued with tragedy in the later years starting with the breakup, the singer phils drug addiction, the murder of guitarist "Dimebag" Darrell ON STAGE in 2004 at a concert with his newly formed band Damage Plan with his brother/Pantera Drummer Vinnie Paul...Vinnie passed away a 4 years ago
