FAQ: 1. Should I add a preservative to my natural body butters?
Answer: No and Yes
Reason: Avoid putting wet hands into the jar. Use a wooden spoon. Once water is introduced to the product, it is contaminated and will grow bacteria, mold, etc. If you can avoid water getting in to the product, then you are safe and do not need a preservative. The body butter will last as long as the shelf life of your ingredients. When it comes to oils and butters, the shelf life is usually 12 months or more.
2. Name of the song?
Answer: Mindme feat. Gribbe - If I Change (Gribbe Remix)
Reason: It's AWESOME!
Link: • Mindme feat. Gribbe - ...
3. Shelf life of the product?
Answer: 12 months
Reason: It usually last as long as the ingredients within the product. Most oils and butters can last 12 months or more. Just make sure not to contaminate it with water or wet hands 👌🏽
4. I have heard bad things about the mining history of mica. The child labor crisis is scary. Will you talk more about it?
Answer: Yes, I am currently doing research on it so that I can bring you all the best information about it as possible. I want to be completely unbiased and address all sides. I was completely unaware of the situation and apologize to anyone who may have been offended by my use of mica in this video and other videos.

I get a lot of questions about the song. It’s Mindme feat. Gribbe - If I Change (Gribbe Remix) enjoy 😊😊💜💜
Oh my gosh i just stumbled on this video and clicked on it so glad i did!!!! Now i want to run out & buy all the ingredients so i can make this asap!!! I have a special needs kiddo as well and i have tried EVERYTHING on her arms nothing works!! I hope this does. 😍 can you mix 100% cold pressed Argan oil in with it or will it break it up??
Amanda kay Hello, sorry for the late response. You can definitely use argon oil and you can substitute as you wish 😊💜
Meekela Gabriel Lol definitely go for it. It’s a lot of trail and error but it’s super fun 😊💜
Sis, do they give offer code for us ur Subs? I wanna order but a Sis needs a discount😛

I hear body butter, but I see ice cream 😂❤
Miss Phasha. 😩😩😂😂😂 I laughed so hard at this!

Good thing is that it's actually edible unlike lab synthesised body butters
Edit:if you add essential oils or mica then don't eat it lool

Another way to waterproof your labels is to use Modge Podge (which you can get at arts and crafts stores.) Just get a small paintbrush, then just paint a layer or two over the label (let dry in between) and it literally will make it waterproof. Hope this helps :-)
Yes, I've tried that too on some other products.. he worked on some types of labels better than others.
Shauna B 👀😮😮😮😮 Thank you for sharing! I will definitely look into this and give it a try 😊💜🙏🏽

You're a great big sister!!
Aaaw... So sweet! I do things for my sister and she doesn't use them

For those looking for the conversion measurements, here they are.
Plant butters: 41%
49.90 g = 1.77 oz | Pure mango butter
43.09 g = 1.52 oz | USDA certified organic Shea butter
Liquid oils: 57%
52.12 g = 1.83 oz | Avocado oil
61.23 g = 2.16 oz | Jojoba oil
15.88 g = 0.56 oz | Coconut oil
Other: 2%
Your choice of pigment, essential oils, or vitamins.
This is helpful.
Hey, do you know how I would convert this to a 4 oz recipe? Instead of 16 oz?
Micaela Garcia divide it by 4
What is that in like cup or table spoon measurements 😬
Thanks
Made simple. 2 cups butter to 3 cups oil if you dont have a scale. Great video.you can use rose powder or beet powder for color.
Alot of people commenting about the use of Mica. If it's a problem you could switch out and use rosehip oil as one of the oils you use. It leaves a pigmented peachy/orange colour and you get the benefits with using rosehip as well.
Thank you for that helpful information. I was caught off guard by the mica situation because I never knew about the controversy. I appreciate you for offering an alternative solution for those who are uncomfortable with using mica. 💜
Oh you are most welcome😉 Anyway loved your video, I didn't know about the Mica controversy either. Carry on with what you are doing cause it inspires people like us to DIY personal care products. Just love them.
I use rosehip for those who aren’t comfortable with mica, and use mica for those who are comfortable with it. 👌🏾
You can also use saffron essential oil. Saffron (Kesar) Oil is known to have skin brightening and lightening properties and can help to promote skin texture that giving the skin a natural glow. It is also an excellent moisturizer and skin conditioner.
Great idea, but watch out for the expiration date. Rosehip oil has a short shelf life, so your butter won't last long. Don't make a big batch with it.
I would make some mango orange peach scented whipped body butter. That sounds amazing and I have very dry skin and patchy skin but that would really help!
I am glad your teaching us how to do these things. My hair budget was beginning to get out of control
Since I have eczema I would make a oatmeal cream or butter or an calming tea tree and green tea butter i love your videos they calm my sensitive skin for less!🥰💸
hey, y’all. i used turmeric instead of mica for those that have that concern :)
Bree Myá turmeric is completely different than mica lmao that’s like switching eggs out for carrots
Dodo bird lol ok thanks
@@dodobird9975 in terms of colour, organic tumeric is fine
I used a little sea buckthorn oil
I actually thought about turmeric as well! It's amazing for the skin ❤

This looks great, amazing, and lush. I love the whisk hand blender method as it is more convenient in comparison to the other hand blender. It great to know how the oil ratio will determine how silky your batch turns out. Absolutely in love with your procedure and professionalism!! Go girl!!👏🏾👏🏾🖤✨
I’m a newbie and suddenly became interested in creating my own skin products. I love how detail and simple you explained it.
Love the energy from this video! I’m ready to start making body butter now!! And that whisk really came in handy.
Loved this! The smooth texture, quick recipes and easy to get into the jar.
Although Mica is a natural substance, I would be careful when supporting brands supplying Mica because it’s unfortunately tied to child mining labor in some countries.
Khadija Marjani I did not know this. Thank you so much for sharing. I will look into this. 🙏🏽

Wow this looks so fluffy I’ve gotta try it!
looks SO PREtty and smooth gj! gurl!
I'm trying this today!! I had a small amount of cocoa butter so I added that and I used sunflower oil since it was the cheapest, most non-comedogenic oil I could get. It's sitting in the fridge right now and I am so excited to see how it turns out!!
This is one of the best DIY body butter recipe!!
That is the perfect consistency for my hair lotions. So excited.

Oh boy, this looks sooooo great! Will have to try making this for my family. Thank you for sharing this awesome recipe!
I love that this is a creamier option! It looks more spreadable than the average butter. Did it stay as soft after sitting?

Hi! Great video. How do you keep it from melting when shipping? Have you considered adding beeswax?
I have attempted to make butters so many times and didnt think to use "less" butters. Good video
Emailgroupie Education 😊😊😊💜💜💜
Simply the best!!!
excellent video! also, thank you for mentioning the preservative, I haven't found many folks mentioning that and it's super important!
A Tablespoon of witch hazel before you whip it will also help with shelf stability. I’ve also made homemade neosporin and I whipped it til it was cold and it made a nice fluffy texture. I wonder if that would work with this recipe too.
Very interesting! Thanks for sharing 😊💜
But if you add witch hazel it needs a preservative. Witch hazel on itself is self preserving but not when it is mixed with oils and butters.
You can't add a water based product (witch hazel) to an all oil base. It will separate at some point.

This video smelt good and I'll try it. Thank you!
I bought your Chebe Butter for my hair. Loved it so much, I got 2 more jars that same week! I'd love to make this body butter for one of my daughters but she is allergic to shea products. What would you suggest as a substitute for that butter and the amount to use? Also, I'm 68 and normally when I comb my hair, I will loose about the amount of a small cotton ball on a daily basis and my hair is thin because of that. The first time I combed my hair after using the butter, I lost 2 hairs! The same thing the next day. That was why I got two more jars! My hair is glossy, stronger, does not shed even after shampooing and has beautiful curls/ringlets in it. I put it on my scalp also. There was no dandruff or itching. I believe if I'd used the powder and not the oil in the butter, I may have had a problem with dandruff. I will continue to buy your product as long as you sell it because I'm just too lazy to make my own! One last thing, I gave away 7 other hair butter/creams and now use just your Chebe butter. It does everything the other products were supposed to do. So I'm saving money by not buying those other items. Have a BLESSED week!
Mary Stewart Thank you for your purchase! 🙏🏽😊 I am glad you enjoyed the products. A great substitute would be Tamanu and/Murumuru butter. They are both super soft butters that will give you a lotion-like, creamy body butter. Tacuma and Cupuacu butter are also great substitutes. I hope this helps 😊💜
I was going to say Cupuacu(one of my favs, kokum too) Marumaru and Sal(Shore).
@@YayaDIYCreations - I've got Tamanu oil, it smells a bit... green, kinda herby like oregano or basil, and maybe a bit grassy? I got it to add to my face oil for acne and gave some to my daughter but she couldn't get past the smell, even tho it doesn't linger. It didn't bother me tho. Just FYI in case anybody else might be interested.
long yarn I heard Tamanu Oil is great for hyperpigmentation, how has it worked for you? I was thinking about purchasing some.
@@sylviacharles2354 - I mixed it with lavender, and several other essential oils and used jojoba as a carrier oil. I still, every once in a while, get little bitty white heads, which is part and parcel of rosacea, although they do heal fast, but I very rarely get those ouchy, just gonna be a swollen red knot on yer face, pimples since I started using it. If that helps. 🙄
Yes please do a label video. Thanks
Sharon Edge-HARLEY Will do 😊
That's it??? I love you!!!! Thank you for this.
Thank you for this video. I have tried many hard oil/soft oil combinations, but your ratio was by far the best. My mix was so creamy. 😍😍😍 I was extremely happy with the consistency. Again, thank you.
Did yours stay creamy after being stored or did it harden?

So beautiful! Thanks for the video.
If I make this, I kno I’m gonna be tempted to lick the spoon lol
Did you know where the brand got the Mica from ? I think if this is all about nature and organic it has to be safe. If you hear about kids slaves finding mica underground. But nice recipe )
Listening to you is just soo soothing.
I’m so happy that you added the fact that you made your label with your thermal printer! About to buy my printer now and I was wondering if I would be able to make product labels with them!
I’m not sure pure vitamin E should be that clear if that’s the ingredient you’re using to slow down oil rancidity. You should check out the vitamin E Humble Bee & Me uses, it’s almost like thick syrup 🤤
She also made body butters in the past where she wanted a less greasy and more lotion texture and she used this specific ingredient that made the oils seep directly into the skin like a dry oil.
Yes! that is the ISSUE with buying from Amazon you have no guarantee of what you are buying.
There are two types of Vitamin E one is natural and one is synthetic. I think viscosity can vary, I myself am never worried, I buy only from chemical and cosmetic supply companies. Always!
Although I find more of an issue with carrier and essential oils there are so many frauds on Amazon. The biggest clue is price if it is inexpensive for the "average " going price it is fake.
Vanilla Absolute is 1/8 oz for $72.00
Not many people can afford an ounce of it. I am suspicious of absolutes on Amazon , most Amazon sellers won't afford the real thing when it comes to absolutes, like rose, vanilla, jasmine, oakmoss. The store within Amazon like Plant Therapy have authentic oils.
Could add some mango essential oil too!🧡. Thanks so much for sharing
Lil. Ms.J Anytime 😊💜 And thanks for the tip 👌🏽
