For alot of us Born and raised in the 50's and 60's if we had only known then what we know now we never would have taken this music for granted. We had it every day and every lonely night. We listened and dreamed and never thought that it would someday be gone...Just like our cars, if only we could go back...I do believe that many of us would stay there....Take our kids and our grandkids and just go back. Christmas, 1966 with Darlene Loves "Baby please come home" (1963) what a time to be alive.
Love Darlene Love! This lady has been singing like this for over 50 years! She doesn't need all the flamboyant outfits and stage antics of today's singers. She just uses her God-given voice and beaming personality.

Each year I would make it a point to catch DL on DL to see /hear this...my 3rd fav Christmas song all time...."Love" when others say that many renditions to this song "but" she nails it"...she was, is the original recording artist for this song....OTHERS gave their rendition to HER classic....she was highly under rated in the 60's and through out the majority of her career until she FINALLY received her dues in the later years....LOVE her!!!

Just discovered this. Heard this song many times. She is an absolute treasure.
No one, I mean no one, can sing this song with as much volume, range and quality as Darlene in combination with a great arrangement that has existed since she first recorded this song back in 1963. As they say in the music business "Darlene owns this record." I have had the pleasure of meeting her on a few occassions and she is just as sweet as she is talented!

I was in the audience at this taping last week. She sounded great and it definitely gets people in the Christmas spirit. I also attended her concert at the bergenPAC-it was amazing! Can't wait to see her again!

@donholl No, I thought the same thing when I saw Darlene at the Bergen PAC Christmas show. She is a back ground singer who has been with Love since the early 60's.
She's a phenom.Her voice sounds fantastic and not much different than when she was recording with Phil Spector.She looks and moves like a woman half her age.
I wish Dave would have her on during the year to sing other stuff.Shes great

@iowa61 I thought so too. Maybe it was because they usually are positioned on the other side of the stage by the orchestra. This was disappointing because the back-up singers are important to the whole sound of the song. Congrats Darlene for being inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame! Truly a living legend.
