About:
Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band’s first tour in 10 years ended with an emotional series of 10 concerts at New York’s famed Madison Square Garden. Live In New York City, featuring performances from the last two nights of that tour (chronicled partially in an Emmy Award-winning HBO special), captures “the heart-stopping, pants-dropping, house-rocking, earth-quaking, booty-shaking, love-making, legendary E Street Band” as Bruce and his blood brothers embarked on an exciting new musical chapter together. Now, for the first time, this magical program comes to CZcams in its entirety for fans new and old to experience.

The mighty mighty Max Weinberg killing it.
Allllllways!
Max Weinberg, Stella Mozgawa, and Brad Wilk are the 3 great drummers (Charlie Watts passed away recently).
Max Wienberg. I often forget how fantastic a drummer he truly is.
filmed when he was 51 ..wow..still amazing today in is 70's.
Canzone del 1987
I have lost count how many times Ive seen this excellent performance and it NEVER gets old...
I've watched this and Tenth Avenue Freeze Out from the same show hundreds of times. I've said I'd pay the 60 bucks and have been delighted just to have watched either song
I just discovered it and damn, it's great. I think it's even better than his "You never can tell" cover one.
@@axelp5554 you never can tell cover is a masterpiece in my opinion. I recomend you to see "ramrod" played in Barcelona in october 2001 if you dont know about that, is f***** amazing
@@hugogonzalez-ym9zg there's a version of Ramrod in NYC, that's amazing
This gives anyone who hasn't seen Bruce in person just a glimpse of the religious experience that is a Springsteen concert
Preacher Springsteen is one of the best versions of Bruce
Nothing in the world like a Springsteen/E-Street concert.
Like Jon Stewart said Bruce empties his tank at every performance for his family and fans . He truly goes everything he’s got to make sure his fans have a good time at his concerts. Bruce and the E Street are in a league of their own!
Bruce and the E-street band are definition of Rock N' Roll. They embodie everything that Rock is supposed to be.
Is this the greatest performance of any artist ever!!!!!!
Yes
It could well be.
Yes definitely
When I saw him at the Dean Smith Center in Nov 1992, he did a version of this song where they would jam and then everyone would stop and freeze for a few seconds. Then Bruce would look at a section of the arena and they would erupt! And then to another section, and they would erupt. Then go back to jamming/dancing and do the freeze thing again, quickly looking at different sections. Then he went into the crowd and picked people out to be in a conga line, he came back up on stage with those lucky fans, danced and sang some more, finished the song, and that was the end of act 1 - one hour and 40 minutes. He took a 20 min break, came back, and did another one hour and 50 minutes, which includes a few encores. House lights came up, people started to leave, roadies started breaking stuff down, and about 5,000 fans were still chanting "Bruuuuce!!" Suddenly, a head with a jacket over it popped up from under the stage. It was Bruce. He grabbed a mic and said "Alright, we'll do one more for you die hards". He brought the band back out (wasn't the E Street band at the time) and sang Bobby Jean. All told, four hours. A guy in front of us said that he really didn't like Bruce, but was there with his girlfriend. At the intermission, he said "wow, this is pretty impressive". When the show finished, he, very reluctantly, said "I hate to say it, but that was the best performance I've ever seen."
Goddamn, Max is a machine! Beating the hell out that kit!
I read that Max plunged his hands ice after a show.
That’s not true
Man, the way he eggs on that crowd. Showmanship! 🎉
First time I saw Bruce was in '92 with "the other band." THIS was the song that blew me away and made me a Springsteen fan for life!
Their version on MTV Plugged was pretty good. I really do think if there had never been an E Street Band, the 92/93 band would've gotten the props they deserve.
I saw him in Nov '92 and it was the same for me - I liked his music before, but left loving the artist and even more of his music.
No one should go through their whole life and never see the boss live. It is a masterclass on live performance. The man empties the tank every time. The real fucking deal
This concert needs to be released in 4K HD . . . Non STROBED
I love how a song that was never on an album or released as a single ended up as the showstopper of this concert. As he says in Springsteen on Broadway: "I am just that good!" LOL
Not only Bruce's best main set closer, but anybody's...main set closer in the history of Rock n' Roll
Over 20 years ago, still fresh.
I could watch it all day just for the bosse's facial expressions. That and Max Weinberg.
These MSG shows are his peak! Perfect setlist, delivery and crowd interaction. Wish I couldve been there.
I was there. It was amazing. No doubt about it.
@@SopranoPizzaJMFNJ I'm envious.
Should have seen the show at the Philly Spectrum (original Spectrum) the previous September. Many reviews of his shows rank that show up there with the best if not his best ever. I was there. It was really something to see.
@@donkapral4947 Which show are you talking about? You say previous September, did Bruce have a show there in 2020 or 2021?
@@TheMagicRat In 1999 for the reunion tour. He did, I think, a five night stand at Philly with one of those being at the original Spectrum. This show was originally postponed because of the hurricane and was rescheduled some days later on a Friday.
This is why he is the boss
Nils Lofgren, once again a fantastic performance.
One of the greatest performances of anything I've ever seen. Phenomenal. Floors me every time.
Born to be on Stage!
Just one word to describe this: MASTERPIECE 🙌
You can really see how hard Max keeps an eye on Bruce. :-)
Max's son Jay filled in on drums in 2009 when Max had a big TV commitment. Jay said his dad told him never to take his eyes off Bruce, because Bruce would cue him to change things up on the spur of the moment.
Always watches Bruce , always
One of his top five concert song performances. And I don't say that lightly.
Yep. If you know his concerts in the 70s especially 77-79 this is worthy of being in that realm
I was at this show. As good as this recording is it doesn't hold a candle to what it was like being in the room that night!
Seen it live
Greatest thing ever
If I'm ever in a coma, put this on and I should be waking up
The Boss Brotherhood and Patti always deliver the goods after all these decades. Thank you, E Street for giving us this great band.
Became a fan in my teens, my first ESB show was The River tour in Lakeland FL and I've spent 4 decades since saying they were the best performers I've ever seen... and I've seen hundreds of other bands since.
Now this is a revival meeting I would love to attend!!!!
I've seen this at least 100 times. It still picks me up and rocks ma bones
I love Bruce. The best Rocker and The best showman in the world, without a doubt.
The Ministry of Rock & Roll. Amen Brothers and Sisters
Well, that's the greatest thing I've ever seen.
With all due respect to Elvis I have to say that having seen Springsteen live maybe ten times I say without reservation, Bruce is the King of Rock N Roll!
Nah, Elvis is definitely the King. But Bruce? He's the BOSS.
And THAT, my friends, is why he's the fucking Boss.
Not really tho. He's a HUGE PUSSY.
My favorite Showman!!
Greatest show on earth!!🐘🐧🐯🐒🐺😂
Thank you Bruce Springsteen 👍 ♥️ 😊

He took a 20 min break, came back, and did another one hour and 50 minutes, which included the best live performance, to this day, of any song I've ever seen - Born to Run - and included a few encores. P.S. - a close second place for best live song I've seen is Plush by STP. It was amazing because it was loud and hard and Scott Weiland's voice was incredible.
8:04 "... but I can promise you life RIGHT NOW!! All you got to do is raise your hand and say 'I' "
I'll go first: I! 🙋♂️
I !!!!
His performance keeps telling us…
Follow Your Dreams !
and Give It Your Best !
THIS is the Church of E Street. Enter, and be saved.
Amen!
Say 'amen' somebody.
Amen, brother!! :-)
I SEE THE LIGHT!!! 🤘🤘
I wasn't even born when they played this concert, But I come back time after time anyway.
Did you guys see Bruce touch Nils head and he fell to the floor.... and played guitar as if he had been saved?
It must be such a rush to hold 20,000+ people's emotions in the palm of your hand.... And Bruce and the ESB have done it night after night for the past 50 years..... Absolutely the greatest live show in rock and roll.....
Amen ....Praying for his life everlasting beyond here & now God Bless Bruce .
@@davidpatterson9107 WTF does praying to some fictional magical sky daddy accomplish? Geesh.....
Best decision Bruce ever made was keeping Nils Lofgren in the band when Little Steven came back.
Sorry you’re not quite there. The best decision Bruce ever made was bringing the e street band back. This isn’t little Steven coming back, this is all of them coming back. Best.
@@JefAlanLong except that Bruce performed with Nils and the rest of the band without Van Zandt for years
@@Ejerman no sorry you’re miles out. Steve left the band before the born in the USA tour in 85 and was replaced by Nils. Three years later or so e street disbanded after the amnesty international tour and Bruce subsequently formed the ‘other’ band. This tour seen here was not called ‘the reunion tour’ because Steve returned. It was the return of everybody save Patti and Roy, who also featured in the ‘other’ band.
@@JefAlanLong I'd hardly say that's miles out. He performed with Nils without Steven for Born in the USA, if the original comment is implying that Bruce had the option to only bring back Van Zandt for this tour, then he's correct in saying it was a smart decision to keep Nils on. I'm not saying your wrong, I'm saying that wasnt the point of their comment, and there was no need for correction.
@@JefAlanLong ❤❤
Nobody will ever come close to being as great live as Bruce Springsteen.
You'll have to see the Rolling Stones post- COVID next year for their 60th anniversary concert. Saw 'em in 2019 and they rock like 30 somethings after seeing them in 2019, when they were still packing out NFL stadiums
@@stevewalter1090 Have seen the Rolling Stones several times over the years. I cannot compare the 2 because one is a band and does great music and songs but the Stones do not have any social message that Bruce does. In terms of shear intensity and sweat and length and level of fun mixed with social messaging Bruce is impossible to top. This takes nothing away from the Stones and all what they have done. They are my favorite band. Like comparing apples and oranges. Both are great.
@@stephenschutter9340 IMO, shear intensity and sweat and length and level of fun mixed with social messaging are theatrics and politics. They don't have anything to do with musical talent. I've seen Bruce multiple times as well the Stones. Ronnie Wood and Kieth Richards guitar work is insane--check this out @ 8:02, (though dated, Keith @ 76 still had the chops as of 2019 when I saw them):
czcams.com/video/z3Or7huOK7o/video.html
@@stevewalter1090 Again I love them both but in terms of musical talent Bruce is still doing it and recording at a high level and it is what? Over 24 years since the Stones really produced something worthwhile.
@@stephenschutter9340 Again you are incorrect. They've released three solid high level more than worth both our whiles "albums" and recently released "Honk" which includes previous work in the last three years. It's easy to research. If high intensity matters to you, watch Mick from his PHX (Glendale) show in 2019. The NO Filter tour coursed Europe 2018, the U.S. in 2019, scheduled/cancelled due to COVID in 2020 and touring has been announced for 2021.I gave you facts.
I have this concert on dvd. I’ve watched it at least a hundred times already… 😊
Only Bruce can take a break from his song to razz the NY audience and get away with it :)
The first time I heard Springsteen do this was with the other band. This sounds so much better with the E Street Band.
3 Great guitar players + a great band = CALL THE DOCTOR.
2 good guitar players, 1 great one.
bossfan49 two great guitar players (and one of their wives) and one so mind blowing he is obviously an alien, son of Jeff beck level guitar player. :)
I met Clarence Clemmons once in the 90s. Super-nice guy. He was a giant man and I remember being astounded by the size of his fingers. They seemed like they were as big around as my wrist (surely not, but they were enormous). Made me wonder how he could play so nimbly with such huge fingers.
Bought this in Freehold, N.J. the day off release and spent the weekend with my friends listening and watching.
Some people say Max gets better with age .... just like a bottle of fine red wine. I say a bottle of a fine red wine gets better with age ... just like Max Weinberg.
Oh yeah!
Saw him play four hours with Bruce and E Street at Giants Stadium in August 2016...it was steaming hot out, he had a long-sleeved dress shirt, vest and tie on, and didn't loosen his tie or roll up his sleeves! He must be a cyborg!
Oh ye..!!!!!!
Max is the beat that is the glue that brings the sound all together!
Best rhythm section in the business.
goose bumps or should I say Bruce bumps everytime!
This is just an awesome video that will *never* get old. I'm amazed at how he rattled-off the cities and states he visited!
I was There. LIVE! You simply can't imagine how intense & insanely good this was!!!!
Hard to beat this.
Una band scatenata!!! E Bruce?? Incorreggibile!!!😀😀👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
THE BOSSSSSS!!!!!
Mighty Max and professor killing it, Nils and Bruce too of course.
And the unsung hero of the ESB, Garry Tallent...unobtrusively plunking along on his bass since the Asbury Park days before it was even the ESB...
fiery moon too true. He was a guitarist but said he switched to bass upon seeing how great other guitarists were. Bass is just as important and he’s core to their power
Love the Boss! Thanks Goody.I miss the Big Man!
Bruce is something special, he has that feeling that is universal and transcendent, it is rock and roll, passion and feeling. That is why since the end of the world (Chile) we feel it as an American brother.
I soooo. love this!!!
Bruce’s self resurrection!
This is the reason I luv doing a leisurely scroll down memory lane😍
So much fun!!!😜😊😁
I love the Joan Jett & the Blackhearts version too! Also, this is of course amazing
God damn, Bruce is one fire here.
No doubt, but doesn't it just seem like he's ALWYAS on fire? :-)
Santo cielo che esibizione!!scatenato è dire poco...braviiiiiiii
I've been looking for this version for years. Thanks for posting..
This art of yours Bruce lifted me from a dark day and it came as if on cue, You never disappoint, You are perhaps..no I would say you are definitely a doctor for all days of the year conveyed by your music. I THANK YOU SO MUCH
Love you Bruce! Love you E Street Band! :)
I love you and your songs with all my heat ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
He is amazing everytime I have too watched the New York concert to many times to count.Estreet church is definitely one I would attend.all hale to Brice and the e street band
was under the light in sunrise fl Mr.Van Zandt - fun pointin at each other!
And THIS was 20 years PAST his prime!
Max est un dieu à la batterie quelle puissance quelle classe merci monsieur
Ti amo Max !! Sei fantastico!!😌😅🙄😍😘😘😘💕💔💞💋Bruce e tutta la band!!😘💞
Hahahaaa, one of My Favorite Songs of his, and E St performances! TY!
So energetic actually selected this to get a pick me up this eve! :D
And he's so funny as Preacher Bruce ,and razzing the audience. What a showman!
I was at one of these MSG shows of his (among many other tours), one of The Very Best ever writers, performers!
He/they are in my rarified top pantheon of R&R'rs.❤
Waou !Ce qu'en j'en dit c'est qu'un tel concert devrait être remboursé par la sécu !
Clarence rocks this with that Baritone Sax!!!!!!🎷🎷🎷👍👍👍
I haven't watch this video from this performance...and i accidentally clicked on it....act of God.
Max Weinberg is just an unbelievable drummer, the timing, feel and technique of that guy is incredible. I was reading Springsteens book where he said they auditioned 30 drummers after they kicked out Mad dog and Max stood out above all of them. Yeah, no shit. It's like have John Bonham auditioning. The power of the guy is incredible. That kind of drummer is so so so so so goddamn important when it comes to playing rock and roll.
Calm down.
Max is the glue to the ESB. LOVE HIM!
There’s a interview with Max saying that he asked Bruce years later why he got the job and he told him “you got the job because you’d stoped when I pulled my hand up”
Ahhhhhh, The Big Man blowing the bari!!! 🤤🤤🤤
I’m just a prisoner of rock and roll.
Unique Is a rare stage animal.
As much as i Love the Movie 🎥 of the same name! How did i not know that Bruce Springsteen wrote this song?!?!?!
All good fun😍😍⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️❤️❤️❤️❤️Great performance as always!!
He’s funny AF in the church one.
That's a bad man!!
There's only a couple people I say that about. The other one is Taj Mahal. =)
this is liveeee!!!
I love you Bruce Springsteen! Keep singing for New Jersey. You Got it.🌹
You should s been a Minister, you can spread the word and people listen to you!🙏🙏🙏
I LOVE THE WAY HE WAS A BIG PART OF ELVIS PRESLEY AND TOM PETTY ALSO WAS A NARRATIVE OF THE SEARCHER. TWO DIFFERENT PEOPLE WHO PROMOTE THE WORDS OF THE SAME CLOTH. YOUR 100000000 PERCENT RIGHT. LOVE THEM WHEN YOU KNOW THAT THE💕 BEAT AS ONE AS WE ALL DO. TAKE ALL OF YOU.🎻🎶🌌🐦🐦🐦
Questo e stato un buon periodo per Bruce e la splendida band... 😊🤗😍😘🎶🎸🎸🎸🎸🎶💘❤️💋💯🌅
yea...I just watched this again....never gets old....and I like to be reminded Im from the great state of NEW JERSEY....our states gift to the world BRUCE and the Boys....
Nobody else can do this 2nd half video phenomenal
This is a great song for the US election and the last 4 years leading up to it. Very metaphorical (Well I'm a little tired out but I'm feeling OK, and I got a little lost along the way. But I'm just around the corner till the light of day)
Bruce and the E Street band remind me very much of Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band.
Both Bob and Bruce will give you everything they've got and then a little bit more.
They are two of the greatest writers & storytellers in...... rock-n-roll hisrory !
"Der Boss ist und bleibt der Boss"
Thank you this song is epic
