The written recipe:
Prawn Tteokbokki
Chef Choi Gwangho
Duration: 25 minutes
Medium Level
Serves 2
10 prawns
200 g Tteok (rice cake)
¼ cabbage
½ onion
½ spring onion, chopped
1 egg, boiled
(Tteokbokki Sauce)
3 tablespoons chili paste
1 ½ tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon ketchup
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 cup (200ml) water
Beksul Cooking Oil
Cresson (Watercress)
Grana Padano (Semi-fat Cheese)
Mozzarella cheese
Prep
Rinse prawns under running water and peel the shell of prawn. Remove the shell except head and tail and devein prawns on the back of shell by using the stick (toothpick) into second line of prawn.
Rinse Tteok (rice cake) under cold water and put into a colander to drain off the water.
Cut cabbage, onion and fishcake in a mouthful size.
Make Tteokbokki sauce by mixing up chili paste, sugar, ketchup, soy sauce with water.
Soak watercress in cold water and put them in a colander to drain off water.
Directions
Turn on the stove and heat up the pan. After pouring cooking oil, fry the rice cake until it turn to yellowish color. Then, place it on the plate.
Add cooking oil and chopped spring onion in the frying pan to make spring onion flavored oil. Add prawns and fry them with strong fire.
In addition to Direction 2 (second step)., add and fry cabbage, onion and fish cake. And then pour the Tteokbokki sauce already made and boil them until the sauce has less water.
Add boiled eggs while boiling Tteokbokki soup. Place Tteokbokki on the plate and add watercress, Grana Padano and Mozzarella cheese to complete the menu.

The results looked really good! You all did very well! I have tried making tteokbokki several times, but I am still refining the recipe - not happy with it yet. The ingredients I use are similar to the recipe you showed, except I also add some gochugaru (고추가루) to make it spicier. An interesting variation the chef has of frying the tteok first - I'll have to try that. Thanks for all of your videos, Mina - sometimes funny and sometimes educational!
