After struggling with the keypad and instruction sheet for two days, I finally looked for and found this video. I'm now all set and it took a few minutes. The hardest part was setting up the ladder to reach the door opener unit ... this part was not clear in the instructions! Wow, so easy once I understood. So happy someone thought to make and post this video! I wish the instructions had included the suggestion to look for it if needed.

Thanks for this video. I tried to get the pin-pad working a couple years ago with written instructions and never worked. I was out of town when the garage door was installed and my wife never got a pin for it. This video cleared everything up!!! I had to realize that to make it work from the start I had to use the factory (3-5-7) pin to get the up and down arrow button to work. Once that is "talking" to the door I had no problem changing the pin.

Finally found this video. Wanted to reset my pin. Did so but must have gotten a keybounce so the pin didn't work. This video had the procedure I could find nowhere else - how to set the keypad to factory defaults.
Problem solved, correct pin set, two happy door openers.
    Thank you!

Worked perfectly. My mother-in-law hired her garage door guy to change the code and program the fobs. He spent an hour and a half and was not able to complete his task. He apologized and refused to except any form of payment. I decided to look up the video on CZcams. Found it, and within 10 minutes was able to reprogram it free of charge. Thank you guys for posting this video. Just goes to show my mother-in-law as usual trust certain laborers, More than her obviously incompetent son-in-law. TL;DR:
Do a factory reset by holding the PROGRAM and up/down buttons until the light blinks and then goes out. This sets the code back to the default 357.
Push the learn button on the motor. Go to the keypad, press 357 and then press up/down repeatedly. If the garage door starts moving, it worked and the remote is paired. If not, start over.
Once paired, reset the pin with 357 PROGRAM [new pin] PROGRAM. Now the new pin should work.

This is a simple process. The big question is: why does the keypad loose it's capability to activate the door after a few months? Even if it is the batteries it should hold the program. (it's what is says in the directions)

I have the same problem. Red LED on bottom of door opener flashes red each time enter is pressed. Earlier I reset the remote as explained in the video prior to step one. After doing step 1, the head unit clicked. Now, nothing happens with 357 except for the light flashing. 😩

For model 2026 this may help.
Disregard the printed instructions for the keypad. Follow the instructions on the inside cover for keyless entry. You probably have ID #1 if you have the larger remote. Follow the printed instructions for your car remotes.
Be prepared to spend a few hours.
There are multiple videos and directions. It should not be that difficult. Overhead you can do better. See if homeowners can do this in under an hour.

    • @lenschulwitz1934

      1. First factory reset by holding the "PROGRAM" and "ARROW" key at the same time, holding the keys (~5 seconds) until the red LED flashes as described in the video at 1:40.
      2. Next hold the SQUARE BUTTON on the garage door opener (as described at 2:25 in the video) until you see the light turn blue.
      3. Quickly go to the keypad and enter "3-5-7" slowly, then press the "ARROW" key slowly several times (as described in the video at 2:40).
      4. The garage door should open. If it does not, make sure you are using the correct brand of garage door opener and associated keypad (Overhead Door). If you the brands of both are correct, replace the two AAA batteries in the opener keypad and check to see that the garage door has power and opens and shuts by pressing the internal button.
      5. Lastly, repeat steps 1-3 above, following them precisely in a slow and methodical manner.
      6. If this doesn't work, your keypad opener is probably not working correctly.
      7. If a replacement keypad still doesn't work, it might be your garage door opener that's faulty, but before replacing it as well, I would consult with someone and/or watch this video again taking precise notes, as there's likely a detail you are missing.
