Actually, these days most the bots are flippers because that's what works best in the live events, as UK robot combat is still a hobby, spinners are too dangerous for the live arena, and axes like Terrorhurtz and Thor fuck too much shit up for roboteers to repair.

It got to the point where Battlebots is forced to enact an active weapon requirement and change the aggression category due to ABC's demands, despite the fact that having an active weapon and forcing the drivers to charge their bots head-on like idiots to score aggression points doesn't necessarily guarantee an exciting match.
