- This is my first attempt at real furniture and it was a gift for a friend!! Turned out really nice!! The Hamdyman Can and with the help of some friends, and a ton of inspiration from the internet, a table was born!! Enjoy!

Pretty nice table, the only thing i would personally do different would be to take those cornerposts and turn them into dice towers

hey dude. just wanted to say thanks for the inspiration! i have now completed my table (although a bit more janky than yours), and i have renovated my basement storage to make a dnd room for my group, and they know nothing about it.
my table is not perfect, but it will definitively work for our use.

I was wondering where you where going with drawer slot up the top of the table when you didnt flip it mid build, then I realised it wasnt drawers. love the idea for sheets and stuff. great work
Not sure if you guys use tablets, but adding some outlets in those boxes you don't care about might be helpful to keep wire clutter to a minimum. Just a suggestion, and I dig the dice tower idea someone posted, you should try it out man.

Holy hell. Somebody start a gofundme and get this bloke a table saw and a workshop. The video shows that you absolutely can get shit done with a basic set of tools. But if this dude had a proper set of tools, he'd be on a whole different level.

thank you for the good video. However I am curious how you connected/secured the legs to the top? How stable is it?
Pocket holes, 4 on each side of the horizontal pieces. It holds up pretty well because the legs are quite heavy. Plus the bottom of it is all one piece!
Ahhh, you didn't show the cool extension flaps flipping - was wondering how it was all going to fit together until the last shot, and suddenly the little wedge design makes perfect sense.

What kind of hinges did you use on the fold-down side panels? Might you post a link of them, please? Building something similar for a Cessna cockpit simulator.
Looks like each side of the section is a 3/4" board, which doesn't leave a lot of room for sturdy hinges?? would hey just snap off if anyone puts any kind of weight on them?
The hinges I used were not up to snuff as much as I wanted. See below link.

That is what I wanted to use but they are a little expensive. If I made a new one of this particular design, I would put the money into those hinges. See below.

@@thehamdymancan Thanks a lot, mate! i found those as well. will end up using a 2x6 for the table fold down side things...means i have 1.5 inches of surface to lay a hinge on, thought I lose some usable area. Keyboard should still fit.

two things...1st I like the design of your table and the work bench you working from (the handyman bench). 2nd do you have a pdf file of the plans done ?
The plans were custom to the size of the space we were working in. My best advice for you if you were building it yourself is find the overall size and what you want to put in it, then build from there.

most of this was done with inexpensive tools. There are tons of videos on youtube for doing woodworking without spending a ton of money.
Look for the channel wood working for mere mortals.

The size of the table was custom to fit a specific space. The plans I have are for that space. And when we were building it, there was a lot of tweaking on the fly.
So to answer your question...yes and no.
