Biggest thing I learned as 7 years middle blocker was reading the readiness of the players. During a scramble after a pass usually 1 or 2 players will be primed for an attack, then check which player setter is closer to, I'd say 70% they'll set the closer player because it's easier. Then reading the squaredness of their shoulders and the angle of their arm. If they're square on to the net it's likely a line hit. If they're coming to the net at an angle it's likely an angle hit. Hope this helps!
Good advice👍
Thank you
Thanks Matthew this help me in my last game
thanks so much for this, i will try it at practice tomorrow
I am guessing you’re a guess blocker
I think covering hitters when your clearly out of play is another important skill for middles
Yes, you are right👍
I would never want to play another position than middle. I love the explosive speed and quick decision making. Tearing the opponents defence apart and shuting their offence down is the best feeling in volleyball :D
Great attitude👍
Takes a special mindset to be a middle, and a strong body. The more powerful you are, the greater the threat you pose to the other team, the more likely your setter delivers the ball to the outside after you have drawn your opposing blocker (or blockers). You jump every time the ball crosses the net in either direction, and the outside hitter gets all the glory. Of course, in compensation you have way more opportunities to kill-block than the others.
Am a middle blocker and this video had helped me. Thanks sir 💪🏾💪🏾

What do you think about the middle blockers from the cuban women’s national team particularly Carvajal and Torres
I am watching a lot of volleyball games, but these two players are until now out of my focus.
Can u plz make video on how we can trick a good blocker during spike
Sure👍 You want advice for outside hitter or middle blocker?🤔
thank you
Im 16, 6ft and play setter but I've been changed to be a middle so this helps a lot, thank you
Great👍😉
Any suggestions on how to transition a middle schooler from outside hitter to middle?
Well it is not easy to answer in one comment😀 Focus more on blocking and attacking from middle, read more setter, fasten your feet, be calm and aggressive👍
as a short middle blocker that jumps high i get so tired after constantly running for quicks and then straight after going to block and rinse and repeating
This is middle blocker work, spmetimes not easy😉😀
I'm a middle blocker as well and the most difficult thing for me is to read where the attacker is going to spike to direct my block. I've read many times "look at the shoulders", but everything happens so fast that I am more focused on seeing who's going to attack.
Yes, it is not easy to read well attacker😀 I will have soon podcast with advice for middle blockers👍 Don’t miss it😉
Do you think Jaja Santiago (now playing in Japan) has what it takes to play in European leagues?
I am sorry, but I can not answer your question😔 I have to start to follow his performance👍
I am a middle Blocker but how to find attacker movement and setter plan
I will make video about possible attacks soon😉
Watch the ball, not the hitter.
@@lucasgeorgge some say look into eyes of hitter
@@lucasgeorgge absolutely not
@@lucasgeorggeu should basically never look at the ball besides timing
While doing the middle block i kinda can’t move my legs to other sides and skip the block everytime can anyone tell me any exercise or a tip regarding 😭
Learning how to read the opposing team's plays well allows you to start the approach earlier and get the block up more often and higher. It's a really difficult but rewarding skill
