The one with the gun shot holes is a zinc, or white bronze marker. Because they are metal, they retain their detail through the years. That one is a beauty ❤

Loved the grave yard, sad though that the stones are broken and laying down, the Wolfgang tree marker was beautiful and interesting and so was the re carved headstone. It didn't look like anyone has visited there in a long time , except you. The lavender flower's were pretty. I love the way you have your hair styled, it looks cool 😎, thanks for sharing another great video, have a blessed Sunday 😇
Hi Matt - Such a beautiful and historical place! My nephew told me about how beautiful it is in Indiana. He lived near Ft. Wayne. He passed away a couple of weeks ago and I regret not going there to visit with him. Thank you for sharing!

I would guess those mason jars were used as vases to hold flowers to decorate the graves.

The head stone that looks like logs means he was a woodsman
You find so many mason jars in cemeteries because people use them as vessels to put flowers on graves. Especially old cemeteries. They are considered historical artifacts and are not to be removed.
I never take historic trash. Only modern plastics.

Hi Matt. 2.36 WOW marker, stacked logs, markers in front with mother / father are logs as well 3.30 beautiful design of the marker. not a lamb on top but floral decoration.Looks like a zinc marker but i think it is stone 8.36 beautiful blue scilla os starhyacinth 11.02 cradle grave 11.09 may compton williams, her baby who died is buried in the casket with her. 12.44 seashells placed on someones grave is a showing that someone is remembered and honored or as a symbol of safe passage to the other side. 12.58 maybe there used to be a above ground vault (casket in the ground) from people who came from Europe that used this style of grave (Ireland, England, Scotland) 13.26 old glass (blue hue) 14.08 above ground vaults have side from brick and a slab on top.14.12 home made brick Black on one side from the fire) 18.05 frances e. tilford,3 yrs. 24.50 what a shame this marker is on the ground, looks great, love the lettering.Should be put upright again.Enjoyed the exploration of this historic cemetery Matt.Needs a lot of work but so many markers can be restored.Looking forward for new videos.Thanks for sharing, take care & stay safe Matt.

Mason jars in the old days often had a date as to year they were pressed into the bottom exterior of the glass. 03 meant 1903, 21 meant 1921. 89 meant 1889. An easy way to date. Some had a month added ahead of the year too. Good luck in finding them.

It's my absolute favorite cemetery 🎉 the stream behind it is also amazing. The concert flat stones were for carriages to come up into the cemetery 😊. There is a legend of a blind school being there also but I don't know how true that is. It is known to be haunted.

Felt a bit of the creepy at first. I also heard something too it was the wind?. I think. And lastly, I can't even pretend to know what those bumps in the road were for. Maybe they were used for space markers, like to tell where to go, for example " as you get to the third set of bumps, it will be to the very end to the right." I hope to find out I'm curious as ever now. Thanks for sharing Matt, and stay safe out there. 🙂👍
The place definitely had a strange feeling to it. Probably the wind but hard to say, it's a very interesting area.

Indiana limestone typically dissolves on the surface after 100 years. Very soft stone.
I really wish they could have moved away from making markers out of it. Unfortunately I know it was cheaper for many and there wasn't much choice. Thanks for the info, Mary!

You pick up the hand sanitizer but not the bottle or broken glass.
I'm not too worried about the non plastic stuff. Glass is natural and will degrade, plus a lot of it is historic. It may represent trash but I think after so long trash is just anthropology. I try my best to collect what I can along the way, but I am sure I don't do the best job.

in some cultures the glass brougt to the cemetery is meant to stay there, you are not allowed to remove it, it is an artefact

Why people destroy everything?
Hard to say, but could be quite a few different situations that have played out over a long time. Every little bit ads up after a few hundred years unfortunately.
one day old infant.? In other words it was still born. My mom had still born twins. They never buried them. They lived in the country so my dad just tossed them in a creek to despos of them.
I feel like this may just be trolling, I hope you aren't serious. That is sad if true, but I'd def want to hear the story.
