- It’s a huge privilege for the Aznavour family Mister Willie Nelson for you to have covered his song on your new Album ‘’First Rose Of Spring.’’
He would have been very honored. Merci.❤️
Mister Roy Clark was the first Country Singer In America who covered this song, year 1969. Peace to his soul.❤️ - Zábava

Happy Birthday Willie. We need you here more than heaven does. There are plenty up there to keep the music alive.
Je suis d'accord avec vous ils y'a tellement d'artistes de tallent qui nous ont quitter 😢
It is an honor for the memory of Charles Aznavour and for us French who will adore him. Your interpretation is masterfully touching and moves me to tears. You are a great among the great. Thank you, Mr. Willie Nelson.
André from france.
I could not agree with you more.
something is just too awesome and shakespearean in the lyrics for me to ascribe to an American country western song writer....and today I learned about Charles Aznavour. What an amazing person!! I feel like I had intuited something....
Bien dit!
Tout le monde aime Aznavour. Moi aussi ici en Bresil.
@@tube.brasil Obrigado!
This beautiful, poignant song reminds me of the saying, "Inside every old person is a young person saying, 'what happened?'
Indeed!!
Yesterday, I moved into a Retirement Community. I woke up today & thought how did I get here.
My favorite : " Who's that little old lady / man in the mirror ?! " :)
@@uwsgrrrl9981 On a brighter note : You SURVIVED !!! :)
And somehow today's young people seem to think it's not going to happen to them
I have heard this song sung so many times by many Great Artists, but Willi's rendition and voice has brought the real picture out what this great artist, writer Charles Aznavour was expressing either of himself or someone he knew. Certainly made me stop and reflect. It brought tears like rain to my eyes. There are many great songs , but Yesterday is a song of not just a moment or event, but of a whole life. All walks of life. This song will be sung and heard till the end of time. Thanks to Seda for the presentation in this video and for Willie's Great Rendition. Very powerful. I don't know what else to say. This writer said it all. Tears and Love
Agree, Willie's version is pure and believable
Nice take!!
Willie is the oldest singer who sang this song, for this reason, he has a lot to tell. Bravo to the Aznavour family for appreciating Willie Nelson's version.
He is no Johnny Cash or Kris. He is not even an Athro Guttrie or Marty Robbins.

Willie - we've met in Terlingua. Alice was ill - and you went with your guys to her bedroom to sing for her I love you!
@Willie Nelson 🔵 woooooooeh! The real WILLIE!!!!
I grew up around Terlingua in the late 60’s and early 70’s beautiful place, the camaraderie, we used to drive from Eagle Pass and my favorite thing was to stay in the ranch house.
Oh, realy?? And after that Alice get back well and ready for The music?

At 67 yrs old, handicapped and widowed, the words REALLY hit home.
GREAT cover as only Willie Nelson could do, Roy would be proud of you sir. Super fan 🤠😍

Mark, you have my thoughts as well. Sounds daft, but some songs, although sad in their way, ‘cheer’ you to some degree? I’m on your side Chap.
You're not alone
Willie, your rendition of this song is absolutely fantastic. It is one of my favourite songs of all time.
What a magnificent face, what a magnificent voice! Willie Nelson is country music's numero uno!
How about a little love for Roy Clark who made this song a hit in the U.S. in '75.
To Charles Aznavour too who wrote this song and sang it in French first: hier encore
@@nassermoussaoui8931 It is right to remember some american hits are from french songs. So is ¨My Way¨ (Comme d'habitude de Claude François) with Franck Sinatra, or ¨The Yellow Rose of Texas¨ (Je m'en vais revoir ma blonde...an old french song of the 1915 something)...
Sorry, ¨Je vais revoir ma blonde¨ (The yellow rose of Texas) was in 1956 ! Composed by Jacques Plante, music by Don George.
I first heard him around 1969, if I remember correctly! But whatever the case, I've loved it from the beginning!

I am 83 and saw the concert for Willy 90th birthday, and that song was the best I have heard, it’s so true I think back when I was young ❤❤🙏🙏🇬🇧
Hello, how are you doing today,I hope you are having a beautiful day?
Willie has gone down many roads but he always comes back to us. He may not know it but he belongs to us.
This is the most beautiful version of this song I ever heard. A haunting melody and lyrics. Willie sung this beautifully.
Oh yes he did. This is one of my favorite songs. It really makes us ponder our own mortality. I love the way Charles Aznavour sings it with so much pathos. This is a very haunting rendition by Willie though. Bravo.
He knows the truth of growing old, and wasted years †hat should be gold, but thrown away as most of us, not knowing life is only dust.
YOU NEVER HEARD ROY CLARK DO THIS ITS EQUAL TO THIS DONE EXACTLY THE SAME WAY
Essa é a mais linda versão da música do também gênio Charles Aznavour.
❤ Reality of life
He's the only one I can think of who can sing this song the way it should be. He has lived every bit of this. But oh what a ride he's had.
I love you Willie Nelson. Please stay with us another 100 yers. God bless.

I have many more years behind me than ahead. Never thought I'd make it this far when I was a younger man. Thank you Jesus for bringing through a heart attack and Cancer but most of all through all the stupid things I did that could have taken my life as well. Blessed and still looking ahead and remembering what's behind to always be grateful for every new day and every breath you've given me beyond my sins and foolishness. Thanks be to the Father for having Willie remind me. In Jesus name, Amen.
I'm not a Christian, but I love Jesus, and I love you.
Peace to you, my friend.
@@DrJohn-rl9zg That's very kind of you. God bless and be well.
Aznavour was a great talent and he sang the song in an amazing manner. Willie Nelson made it his own, in a different way. Amazing song, two talent singers. We should listen to this song when we're young, not when we're old and have learnt the lesson and lived the song
There are so many versions of this song sung by different singers. In my view Willie's is the best. No yelling, no complaining about life, but a deep soul searching what life is. It is an introspecting song, a masterpiece lasts forever. Salute to the song writer and the singer.
Over the years I've heard Mr Nelson sing more than country and every song he's chosen to do always seemed made for him and him alone. This is so sweet and sad but makes me think of a cool grandpa playing and singing an evening by a fire with his kids and grands listening respectfully. Maybe his oldest son breaking out the harmonica just at the right time. This song goes on replay for sure❤
Très belle prestation monsieur Nelson ,,,,souvenir souvenir,,,,Merci

Hello Anne how are you doing!!
Omg! he sung like he is telling his story when he is young, pretty good.
I didn’t think anyone could cover this song after Roy. But Roy was still relatively young when he sang it. Willie sings it with age and experience in his voice. I don’t even watch the video I just close my eyes and listen to the nuances in his voice. I always enjoy his lead on the old gut string guitar it has such beautiful tone.
yes touching version, accent helped to endear this song.

Je ne connaissais pas cette reprise de "hier encore" de Charles Aznavour. Superbe...
When I listen to this haunting song I close my eyes and I see my life pass before me. So many things that I’d like to change, regrets that have lingered through my life. Things that can’t be changed. Now I’m in the twilight of my life just waiting for the final chapter to be written.. so remember when you’re writing your life’s story, choose the right words, make the right choices so that there are no regrets to dwell on. Life is a one way street, take it slow and easy and make the best of it.
You said that so beautifully perfect for the youngens
You've just summed up my life and I'm in the final chapter too.

Hello there Terry nice meeting you here
A song that brings a quiet reflection to any man of an age who has endured many hard, rutted miles of dirt road that has passed under his hood.
Youthful romances, homelessness, entry level hard labor jobs, war, marriage, child raising, struggles to survive, thrive and be successful. Experience success and wearily but happily enter retirement.
Great song for reflection with a mug of black coffee before the night time warmth of a fireplace.
As I get older the more profound the song becomes
Bravos River. You’re so right. Nostalgia.

Bravos River. I wonder how much we would change if we could go back in time. I wish I could go back to when my mother sisters and brothers were still here. Just for one day to tell them how much I loved them ❤❤❤
