Many times when I drive through Lincoln, he crosses my mind. I think when a person leaves this earth but is remembered for their positive contributions, they have fulfilled their purpose. Thank you for sharing his story. I have gained even more respect for Mr. Farnsworth.
Manuel Festoli , I read that he used the actual pistols that the outlaw used and that they filmed the robbery locations as near the actual robberies as possible.

I worked with Mr. Farnsworth on "Tom Horn." One night he and I and a couple of other actors got together to play guitars and have a little jam session. He was the most pleasant man I have ever met.

Mr. Skinner, you have an uncommon eye when it comes to the story and character of the folks who undoubtedly qualify as mythic figures in the American consciousness. You're voice, as it is, already calls to mind old yarns, spun by Old Timers. Thank you, Sir.
Over the decades, I've become fascinated by the great, "character actors" - like Richard Farnsworth. Learning their stories has been of interest to me. One of the reasons I revisit, "The Natural," is seeing Farnsworth and Wilford Brimley working together. Thanks for this profile.
Perhaps they are just harder to find. I like to think there are still some '50s women like me around. For both genders we are at home because its where our heart is. Must have the same friends to find.
Watching this reminds me of all the times I’ve seen this actor in movies. I didn’t know he was a Bronc rider too. I rode Broncs and team roped for 9 years so; I sure knew what he meant when he said he was use to hitting the ground. It’s funny; I too had dreams of being a stunt man or working in the movie business but; welding and commercial diving kept me pretty busy. You can just tell who’s a good ole boy and who ain’t. RICHARD FARNSWORTH was always a pleasure to watch. R.I.P. Good job Mr. Skinner👍
You always do a great job telling us about these amazing people who we grew up with. Thank you Jerry. I broke y neck in 96 and have suffered with Pain for so many years I cannot count. I wish not to count them. What upsets me the most about being injured is not being able to escape it or feel tough enough to overcome it and those who love us and suffer along the way with us. My family deserves better. Not listening tp me complain.. Pain has a life of its own. There is no controlling 'it'. When you got to the part about his pain and it NOT being 'managed', well, I knew where you were going with this. I have thought about ending it for years but, that FINAL MOMENT really is a tough one to swallow. I just cannot seem to make that leap. You have to be pretty far gone to end it like that! The unknown awaits, and my grandmother use to talk about family committing suicide (4 of them) when we were kids and she'd tell us, 'they went straight to hell'. For Eternity. OMG! Her words always enter my thoughts when I think I cannot go another day. Scary. I must admit this old US Army Sergeant cried a little when you said he 'shot himself' in the next room and his girlfriend (?) ran to him. It was too late. Let us hope he did NOT go to hell and he is at PEACE. He was a wonderful human being who deserved a better ending than this. He gave us all so very much. His human spirit, talent, voice, western looks and that tough guy part he often played helped groom us boys in to becoming men. We had a man to look up to and admire for those of us without fathers. Rest In Peace Mr. Richard Farnsworth. Thank you for the memories. There is no way God would send such an amazing Spirit to hell. He was in horrific pain and no one should suffer like that for years. I just pray God has something easier for me in the end. In my sleep! One day we'll all be on that Ranch in Heaven. RIP

As a matter of fact, yes, the Academy has a posthumous award they sometimes bestow on actors who've contributed in extraordinary ways to the film industry and who were overlooked the first time round. Can't you just imagine the stories they could tell sitting around a campfire under the stars?
@@OneLastHitB4IGo ...it would definitely be a memorable experience. We can dream can't we ??
@@verticallogic5909 Only thing that might be better, funnier anyway, would be sitting around the campfire eating beans with the Blazing Saddles crew!
@@OneLastHitB4IGo ...i don't think so. Never liked Blazing Saddles, in fact i remember that i wanted my money back.....did'nt get it, but one can try.....
Bill.Miner!
Thank you very much, Mr. Skinner. I appreciate all that you do to share with us.👍🏼💖
I remember Richard Farnsworth for playing Matthew in Anne of Green Gables. His character was wonderful. It makes me want to watch that again. Thank you for making this.
He wanted to go out his way. I respect that. Enough is Enough
What a wonderful movie that was! ❤❤❤
I watch all your video's love them ...Keep up the good work
I sincerely hope Richards family has had the chance to see this beautiful documentary you put together Mr.Skinner and to read all the lovely comments below... no doubt they would be smiling during the entire video.❤️
Thank you Jerry for all your wonderful stories about the famous. You always tell me something I didn't know.
As always, I love your documentaries! I really don't care what they are about, you have such a talent for making them interesting and bringing the subject and era to life. PLEASE, continue making these gems!!!
Another Great job Mr Skinner
Fantastic video - thoroughly enjoyed watching! _(I didn't know that he took his own life)_
I didn't know that, either...sad.
The suffering must have been excruciating. He wasn't one to comain. Likely no one knew how much he suffered? Nice to know he didn't get in to the dark crap.... That permeates the industry, today.
Sadly... 🙏🙏🙏😔
Thank you for posting such an interesting and emotional video. My wife of 49 years died January 10, 2020 from Pancreatic Cancer and Lymphoma. God Bless you Jerry Skinner...
One of your best videos ever, Mr. Skinner... I loved Richard Farnsworth.
RIP - Richard Farnsworth
The Straight Story might be David Lynch’s best film.
Also RIP - Harry Dean Stanton, The Master 🇺🇸
Yep.
yes ! And it's so non Lynch. Anyone who has not seen it should. I own it and watch it at least once a year.
JOHNWLOUCKS I know. it’s a great road movie too.
I’m THEE most discerning movie goer/lover and ‘Straight Story’ is one of my favorites.
I loved him as a child in so many other works; the tears I shed when he died and when he ‘died’ as Matthew Cuthbert in ‘Anne Of Green Gables’...
✨🙏🏼🖤✨
Thank You Mr. Skinner for another phenomenal video!
Thank you, Jerry! I've been wanting you to do this one for years!
I kept thinking how is Richard narrating this documentary!? You did an incredible job here. He was a favorite of mine. Thank you Jerry!
When I want a Richard Farnsworth hit - I listen to Jerry Skinner! Thank you Mr. Skinner.
