Latgaliešu tautasdziesma SAUCĒJAS "Tolka lela" Latgalian Folk Song

Saucējas​ dzied latgaliešu mēslu talku dziesmu no Šķilbēnu pagasta / Latgališka pavasario talkų sutartinė // This is a springtime work song accompanied with bourdon drone - it's one of the two most archaic Latvian singing traditions: seasonal folk songs specific for particular festivities, where the singers combine the known texts (sometimes creating new variations of them!) into sequences on the spot. The generally accepted text structure is a quatrain and the melody is simple, but the performance consists of several parts:
the lead singer singing the text,
the text being repeated (either by the same or a different singer), while the rest of the group add a drone, bourdon voice - sing the same tone or variate it a little.
TRANSLATION OF THE LYRICS:
A big gathering of helpers or a small one - it does no good
They've eaten and drunk a lot - they've done our job
God, do not let it rain today - there's no need to rain today
A pack of volunteers will come to work for my dear brothers today

Laima Pranskunaite Latgalių tarmė iš tiesų panašesnė į lietuvių kalbą nei literatūrinė latvių kalba - sykį daviau pažįstamiems pasiklausyti įrašo su latgalietišku pasakojimu ir pasakiau, kad atspėtų, kaip čia kalba. Pirmas spėjimas tik literatūrine lietuvių kalba kalbančio žmogaus buvo: "Dzūkiškai?" :)
