I don't know how many times I've seen this movie and how many times I've seen people do reactions to it but I STILL tear up when people watch this movie. I was starting to get upset with her when she kept saying she was trying to hold back and apologizing for getting emotional. You'd have to be some sort of deranged maniac if you don't get emotional while watching this. Let it out. This is the one movie where no one will judge you for crying.

I love how this girl really gets the impact of that scene at the end, when Schindler realizes how he could have gotten more people. And the importance of one life. You can tell how much she gets that during the scene.

Evil will always take advantage of our good nature and turn it against us. The world is in a new cycle of complacency to evil which is hasn't seen since WWII. New evil forces have assumed power around the world today. Only time will tell what they will do to us or our neighbors.
Don't apologize for not talking during your reaction. That is the biggest misconception that reaction videos mean you have to talk endlessly through the video. REACTION does not mean just talking. Your facial expressions, silence, body language, etc. is a reaction too and just as much so. Your reaction is more genuine versus video makers that what shut up and make the whole thing about THEM, cracking stupid jokes, etc. EXCELLENT video!
I couldn't agree more! Many reactors think they need to talk in order to make a good reaction. Others are just narcissists and like to hear themselves talk. The very best reactions are from those who ignore the camera and show a natural reaction through their body language.
Don't you ever feel bad about crying during this movie. I've watched this movie at least 20 times, and I still cry every time, especially the scene when Schindler breaks down and starts crying about how he "could've gotten one more..." Crying means you're a human being with a good soul.
One, you aren't a wimp. This movie is beyond powerful- I saw this movie when it first came out. (and I was 13 years old, walking into the movie with a huge pop- the pop left full. And I walked out of that theater bawling.) I'm 42 now, and still hard to see the whole film.

Sadly, this lesson is forgotten as antisemitism is unfortunately alive and well today. But it's not just antisemitism. History is already repeating itself. It's repeating itself as I type this, it repeated itself yesterday, and it will repeat itself tomorrow. Vaccine mandates and passports, covid restrictions, limits on free speech, people claiming to be against fascism now becoming the very fascists they claim to fight against, and the list goes on and on.
We're all a mess by the end of this one, the part where he thinks he could've saved more always gets me. No words are really needed though, the emotions say it all.
It also doesn't need it. It tells the story and the struggles well enough. It raises awareness in a more accessible way than the original footage we have. There's a reason the documentary films were banned from release in the UK for so long.
Yes it was way more brutal. One small example, the scene where the kids get taken away, if the mothers actually screamed and ran after the trucks, they would have been shot immediately.

The terrible thing is, this movie actually was the censored, toned-down version of what really happened. On another reaction video, someone shared a story of going to see this movie with a family member who had actually survived the holocaust. When they asked him what he thought of it, he said "It wasn't brutal enough."
28:26 I've watched a few "Schindler's List" reaction videos, but you're the first I've seen to have acknowledged the elephant in the room about all the lives that weren't saved by Oskar, and I commend you for it. While his efforts were amazing, and absolutely worthy of this film, the number of people he saved are a drop in the ocean against the number of people murdered - 1,200 people against millions. It's so incredibly sad.

such an impacting film. i recall when i saw this in 94 at the theatre. when it was over, no one moved, i mean for a few minutes. it was as if we were paying our respects to the victims. it was quiet as a funeral and felt like it

English is my first language. She nails the pronunciation. She has less of an accent than people from Boston or Australia. Spanish is my second language. And it's nowhere near as good as her English.

I concur. Saving Private Ryan was my first time watching Centane’s channel. Her video popped up on my watch feed, I took a double take believing my cousin was posting on CZcams. Kamilla (Centane) has an uncanny resemblance to my cousin who lives in LA.

Agreed. I hated Schindler's List when I first saw it, I was an angsty kid with a chip on my shoulder. But, having matured quite a bit, I think the only reason I disliked it is because of the horrible subject matter. Which is silly, because what makes us stronger (mentally) than the most traumatic events in life? What I'm trying to say is, I think more humans should agree with you. To digest traumatic events in a calm and collected manner, so as to not lose yourself. "Embrace the Pain and you will see Salvation Beyond" Hug the cactus as I like to say.
What very few people outside of the production community in Hollywood are aware of is, that during the day Spielberg was directing Schlinder’s List and at night he would link up online with the CGI crew from Industrial Light and Magic (ILM) out in California. He would spend his evenings working on the effects for Jurassic Park.

You want to watch something that hits you straight in the heart. When the movie won best picture at the 1993 Oscars. The last person who did the acceptance speech read of his own number he was given at the concentration camp. That just makes you sink in there.

Personnally I watch reactors for their reactions, not their comments. Some scenes or movies you simply need to silently absorb and experience, and the more people talk, the more they miss. One remarkable thing about this movie is how _funny_ it is. Genuinely funny. _Schindler’s List_ is not a grim and grueling ordeal that you force yourself to watch because of the historical setting. No, this movie is _entertaining._ It’s often surprisingly wry, weaving humor into sequences of genuine suspense and horror. In this way, it reminds me of Spielberg’s deft touch from the beginning of his career: _Jaws._ Not since _Jaws_ has he made a movie that is so perfectly balanced, that its humor feels completely right.

This is a great movie, I saw it when it came out. It was haunting then, it's haunting now. May I recommend Beverly Hills Cop for a future viewing? It's a great movie and it won't make you cry. It'll make you sob with laughter though! Or 13th warrior. About an Arab diplomat who ends up with a group of vikings. Your sanity can get a respite from all the tragedy!
Totally agree. Her beauty is what caught my attention when one of her videos randomly showed up in my CZcams suggestions. And after watching a few of her videos, her personality convinced me to subscribe.

Amon Goeth was such a psychopath and pure evil personified the worst of his crimes couldn't be portrayed in this movie! He was eventually KICKED OUT of the SS for his behavior! His memory and the trauma he inflicted on his victims was so profound that the living Mila Pfefferberg, who served as one of the consultants on the film, had a panic attack upon her encounter with Ralph Fiennes, whom portrayed Amon Goeth, in his full SS uniform on set.
We saw this in a theatre, when it was over the audience was dead silent as if we were at a funeral. When this was made Holocaust denial was gaining traction. This was Steven Spielberg 's response to that. Schindler is the only Nazi buried in Israel. The little girl in the red coat is based on a true story. Her father survived and said his wife and daughter were lead away from him. He could see the red coat for quite a while as they were walked away. That was the last time he saw them.This is the most intense movie I have ever seen, I am 68.
This one's a tough watch, mostly because of the historical context. But then you add the performances and it's a total gut punch! I had to watch this when I was in high school and me being an a**hole didn't care too much, but then re-watched it later in in life and it activated the water works. I think it's a must watch movie for everyone and in hindsight my teacher news right to had us watch it.

After the work, the Sonderkommando was conducted to Birkenau ad eliminated.
I noticed that whatever version of the film you're watching didn't include any text other than the subtitles. For example, at the end there, it was supposed to display the names of the people as they place stones on Schindler's grave. Thankfully, they're right next to the actors who played them. The text was also supposed to give you info on what happened to Oskar after the war, and how many descendants came from the people he saved. You may have missed a lot of context in the film.

Schindler started as a con man, an exploiter, a crook, but even the amoral find some things too bad to accept. He is my hero, not a good man but a truly great one.

It should also be pointed out that Spielberg wouldn’t even communicate with the actors playing the Einsatzgruppen. He would give them direction but wouldn’t give small talk as he was unable to get past the uniforms. Remember, these were actors of the German theater. But a beautiful thing happened earlier in production. They had Passover at the hotel they we’re staying at in Krakow, Poland. Spielberg had all the Jewish actors sitting around at a table and then all the German actors walked in wearing the yamakas and they sat next to the Jews and participated in the Passover ritual and Spielberg was moved to tears.
The little girl was always wearing a purple coat in the book her name was Geneia. I guess they made it a red coat for the film to make her stand out more
When I was in 10th grade (1995/1996), my history teacher FORCED me and the other students in the room to watch this (in parts) over a week. We weren't allowed to back out. It wasn't edited at all. To this day, as an adult, I can't watch the movie. Just goes to show what kind of people I had to deal with in school. They flat out didn't care who was traumatized or not. At least one positive thing came out of this. I have more respect for life, for how to treat people with kindness and love, despite all the terrible things that I experienced in my teen years (I was bullied/abused at school for 6 years; 6th grade through 12th.).
It's not bad, but I do think it's not terribly honest about the nature of racism. That movie treats racism like a switch that can be flipped from heroism to villainy, rather than a deeply instilled cultural value we all hold to some degree and need to work on.

Curiosity from the movie. Playing in one of the first scenes of the nightclub boss Branko Lustig (also the co-producer of the film) is "a survivor of the Shoah". He also produced other films devoted to the subject of the Holocaust (including "Sophie's Choice" and "Shoah"). Steven Spielberg did not accept his salary as a movie as he thought it was inappropriate and it would be "money drenched in blood". Schindler's original list was found in his apartment in Hildersheim, Frankfurt in 2000. Schindler stayed there a few months before his death in 1974
Centane, never apologize for caring about people. The world needs more people like you. I have a close friend whose mother survived Auschwitz. She was the only member of her family that was not exterminated during the war. It left her a broken, warped human being. Which had a huge impact on my friend's upbringing and his own mental health. Schindler's List devastated him. He will never watch it, or the movie The Pianist (another great WW2 holocaust movie based on true life) again. The use of the color red is a highly discussed internet subject. Red is a symbol for life and love. One post suggested that this is the moment that Schindler realizes that the Jews are real people, not just black and white images on a newsreel, not just tools for making him rich. It is after this that Schindler becomes more concerned about saving people than he does about saving money. The little girls loss of color when hiding under the bed tells us that she will be found and killed by the Nazis. Keep up the good reactions.
Your reactions are really well done and highlight your empathy and compassion for people. The next WWII reaction you should check out is the Band of Brothers miniseries. It’s produced by Spielberg and Hanks and is a phenomenal look at a company of US soldiers from training through the end of the war (based on the real soldiers). Cannot recommend enough.
It takes strength to get through this movie, and even more to share a reaction to it, thank you. I've known people to walk out before finishing it because they couldn't take it all at once.
Spielberg certainly knows how to play to one's emotions. The film itself is a very well made success story. So far, "Shoah" by Claude Lanzmann is widely considered to be the definitive work when it comes to the Holocaust (along with Night and Fog by Alain Resnais). Lanzmann got into a bit of a spat with Spielberg when Schindler's List came out because he viewed it as a deformation of historical truth and Spielberg accused him of wanting to be the only voice when it came to the Holocaust. I'm more happy with the fact that the making of the film lead Spielberg to create the USC Shoah Foundation.
Fact: Spielberg invited survivors of Goeth's camp to the set. Ralph Fiennes, who was shooting that day, was presented to an elderly woman, Mila Pfefferberg, who survived Goeth's camp. The woman shook uncontrollably in Fiennes' presence because he reminded her too much of the real Amon Goeth

@5:05 He's taking off his Jewish star to enter the Catholic church because he is going there under the guise that he's Catholic and not Jewish... it's a meeting place to do business (since doing business as a Jew at that time was illegal). The Jewish businessmen are doing what they can to earn money since they can no longer do that legally. That's why they are talking over the priest. They don't care what the priest is saying because they are not there to worship, they are there to do business.

Hi! I found your channel yesterday, and was glad to find out you've been doing this for a while. Briefly: I found reaction videos last year when I realized it's probably the closest substitute to going to the movies with friends I can find during isolation. And even though it's not the same thing, I find having at least a some kind of social aspect to watching movies comforting. Finally, I just wanted to say, that for what it's worth, I for one don't think you have to say anything if you don't feel like it. Your emotions will come through regardless, and that is more than enough. Thank you for doing this.
About crying during that Auschwitz lesson : don't worry, you're not the only one. I've never been to Auschwitz myself, but I've been to both Terezin (near Prague) and Dachau (near Munchen). I almost started crying myself when I read the plaque that was left in their crematory oven's room in memory of 3 spies that were murdered in Dachau. I could be wrong, but of the top of my head it was 2 British spies and 1 French Resistance fighter... All three of them were women... So you can easily imagine what exactly they went through BEFORE being murdered. Yikes... still makes my skin crawls. Also, I know you live in Norway, but if you ever get the chance, go to the Imperial War Museum in London, England. It's a multiple-floors museum and the top two floors are reserved exclusively to the Holocost. When I came back to my hotel room that night, I was still shook from my visit there. And for the language barrier don't worry... I'm French-Canadian myself and only speak two languages. And your English is already much better than mine... I didn't even notice an accent when listening to you.
Commentary is so much about feelings and you wear yours on your sleeve. You have so deep, sincere emotions all written on your face. It speaks much more than a million words from someone else. And with or without makeup it doesn't matter. You look pretty either way.
The scene that makes me cry, in addition to Oskar saying "I could've got more", is the scene of the first couple he knowingly saves, the young woman's parents, so sweet.

That's a powerful movie that I ever seen. They have seven awards winner including Best Original Score, Best Director, and Best Picture at 66th Academy Awards
The cousin of my wife's grandfather was the jewler who made the ring. Schindler Jews invited him to their family celebrations like weddings etc. They also raised money in order to help support him.

Don't apologize for not talking during your reaction. That is the biggest misconception that reaction videos mean you have to talk endlessly through the video. REACTION does not mean just talking. Your facial expressions, silence, body language, etc. is a reaction too and just as much so. Don't you ever feel bad about crying during this movie. I've watched this movie at least 20 times, and I still cry every time, especially the scene when Schindler breaks down and starts crying about how he "could've gotten one more..." Crying means you're a human being with a good soul.
I was 13 when I saw this opening weekend in the theater with my grandparents, I cried their and every year that I watch it since I still cry.
One, you aren't a wimp. This movie is beyond powerful- I saw this movie when it first came out. (and I was 13 years old, walking into the movie with a huge pop- the pop left full. And I walked out of that theater bawling.) I'm 42 now, and still hard to see the whole film.

Compared to real history, Schindler's List's depictions of brutality were pretty tame.
Yes, it doesn't go in to the human experimentations they did, or immediate executions of disabled or people who were 'different'.
It also doesn't need it. It tells the story and the struggles well enough. It raises awareness in a more accessible way than the original footage we have. There's a reason the documentary films were banned from release in the UK for so long.

Yes it was way more brutal. One small example, the scene where the kids get taken away, if the mothers actually screamed and ran after the trucks, they would have been shot immediately.

The terrible thing is, this movie actually was the censored, toned-down version of what really happened. On another reaction video, someone shared a story of going to see this movie with a family member who had actually survived the holocaust. When they asked him what he thought of it, he said "It wasn't brutal enough."

such an impacting film. i recall when i saw this in 94 at the theatre. when it was over, no one moved, i mean for a few minutes. it was as if we were paying our respects to the victims. it was quiet as a funeral and felt like it

English is my first language. She nails the pronunciation. She has less of an accent than people from Boston or Australia. Spanish is my second language. And it's nowhere near as good as her English.
Like really, English is my only extra second language and I still can't speak it properly (writing and listening I'm good) due to lack of practice, meanwhile she's on her third language and completely passing for an American except for the slight accent.

Agreed. I hated Schindler's List when I first saw it, I was an angsty kid with a chip on my shoulder. But, having matured quite a bit, I think the only reason I disliked it is because of the horrible subject matter. Which is silly, because what makes us stronger (mentally) than the most traumatic events in life? What I'm trying to say is, I think more humans should agree with you. To digest traumatic events in a calm and collected manner, so as to not lose yourself. "Embrace the Pain and you will see Salvation Beyond" Hug the cactus as I like to say.
What very few people outside of the production community in Hollywood are aware of is, that during the day Spielberg was directing Schlinder’s List and at night he would link up online with the CGI crew from Industrial Light and Magic (ILM) out in California. He would spend his evenings working on the effects for Jurassic Park.

You want to watch something that hits you straight in the heart. When the movie won best picture at the 1993 Oscars. The last person who did the acceptance speech read of his own number he was given at the concentration camp. That just makes you sink in there.

One remarkable thing about this movie is how _funny_ it is. Genuinely funny. _Schindler’s List_ is not a grim and grueling ordeal that you force yourself to watch because of the historical setting. No, this movie is _entertaining._ It’s often surprisingly wry, weaving humor into sequences of genuine suspense and horror. In this way, it reminds me of Spielberg’s deft touch from the beginning of his career: _Jaws._ Not since _Jaws_ has he made a movie that is so perfectly balanced, that its humor feels completely right.

If not, maybe it's time they talked to someone about the fortress they've constructed around their heart and emotions.

Amon Goeth was such a psychopath and pure evil personified the worst of his crimes couldn't be portrayed in this movie! He was eventually KICKED OUT of the SS for his behavior! His memory and the trauma he inflicted on his victims was so profound that the living Mila Pfefferberg, who served as one of the consultants on the film, had a panic attack upon her encounter with Ralph Fiennes, whom portrayed Amon Goeth, in his full SS uniform on set.
Only a person with no feelings would Not cry while watching this movie.

We saw this in a theatre, when it was over the audience was dead silent as if we were at a funeral. When this was made Holocaust denial was gaining traction. This was Steven Spielberg 's response to that. Schindler is the only Nazi buried in Israel. The little girl in the red coat is based on a true story. Her father survived and said his wife and daughter were lead away from him. He could see the red coat for quite a while as they were walked away. That was the last time he saw them.This is the most intense movie I have ever seen, I am 68.
This one's a tough watch, mostly because of the historical context. But then you add the performances and it's a total gut punch! I had to watch this when I was in high school and me being an a**hole didn't care too much, but then re-watched it later in in life and it activated the water works. I think it's a must watch movie for everyone and in hindsight my teacher news right to had us watch it.

This is the most true reaction i have seen of this movie. Your reaction comes from the heart and soul.
I noticed that whatever version of the film you're watching didn't include any text other than the subtitles. For example, at the end there, it was supposed to display the names of the people as they place stones on Schindler's grave. Thankfully, they're right next to the actors who played them. The text was also supposed to give you info on what happened to Oskar after the war, and how many descendants came from the people he saved. You may have missed a lot of context in the film.

It should also be pointed out that Spielberg wouldn’t even communicate with the actors playing the Einsatzgruppen. He would give them direction but wouldn’t give small talk as he was unable to get past the uniforms. Remember, these were actors of the German theater. But a beautiful thing happened earlier in production. They had Passover at the hotel they we’re staying at in Krakow, Poland. Spielberg had all the Jewish actors sitting around at a table and then all the German actors walked in wearing the yamakas and they sat next to the Jews and participated in the Passover ritual and Spielberg was moved to tears.
The little girl was always wearing a purple coat in the book her name was Geneia. I guess they made it a red coat for the film to make her stand out more
When I was in 10th grade (1995/1996), my history teacher FORCED me and the other students in the room to watch this (in parts) over a week. We weren't allowed to back out. It wasn't edited at all. To this day, as an adult, I can't watch the movie. Just goes to show what kind of people I had to deal with in school. They flat out didn't care who was traumatized or not.
At least one positive thing came out of this. I have more respect for life, for how to treat people with kindness and love, despite all the terrible things that I experienced in my teen years (I was bullied/abused at school for 6 years; 6th grade through 12th.).
American History X is another great movie that everyone should see at least once
It's not bad, but I do think it's not terribly honest about the nature of racism. That movie treats racism like a switch that can be flipped from heroism to villainy, rather than a deeply instilled cultural value we all hold to some degree and need to work on.

I have a close friend whose mother survived Auschwitz. She was the only member of her family that was not exterminated during the war. It left her a broken, warped human being. Which had a huge impact on my friend's upbringing and his own mental health. Schindler's List devastated him. He will never watch it, or the movie The Pianist (another great WW2 holocaust movie based on true life) again.
The use of the color red is a highly discussed internet subject. Red is a symbol for life and love. One post suggested that this is the moment that Schindler realizes that the Jews are real people, not just black and white images on a newsreel, not just tools for making him rich. It is after this that Schindler becomes more concerned about saving people than he does about saving money. The little girls loss of color when hiding under the bed tells us that she will be found and killed by the Nazis.

one cannot have a single shred of human decency and compassion and not feel anything emotionally whilst watching this movie.
Your reactions are really well done and highlight your empathy and compassion for people. The next WWII reaction you should check out is the Band of Brothers miniseries. It’s produced by Spielberg and Hanks and is a phenomenal look at a company of US soldiers from training through the end of the war (based on the real soldiers). Cannot recommend enough.
It takes strength to get through this movie, and even more to share a reaction to it, thank you. I've known people to walk out before finishing it because they couldn't take it all at once.
Spielberg certainly knows how to play to one's emotions. The film itself is a very well made success story. So far, "Shoah" by Claude Lanzmann is widely considered to be the definitive work when it comes to the Holocaust (along with Night and Fog by Alain Resnais). Lanzmann got into a bit of a spat with Spielberg when Schindler's List came out because he viewed it as a deformation of historical truth and Spielberg accused him of wanting to be the only voice when it came to the Holocaust. I'm more happy with the fact that the making of the film lead Spielberg to create the USC Shoah Foundation.
Fact: Spielberg invited survivors of Goeth's camp to the set. Ralph Fiennes, who was shooting that day, was presented to an elderly woman, Mila Pfefferberg, who survived Goeth's camp. The woman shook uncontrollably in Fiennes' presence because he reminded her too much of the real Amon Goeth

@5:05 He's taking off his Jewish star to enter the Catholic church because he is going there under the guise that he's Catholic and not Jewish... it's a meeting place to do business (since doing business as a Jew at that time was illegal). The Jewish businessmen are doing what they can to earn money since they can no longer do that legally. That's why they are talking over the priest. They don't care what the priest is saying because they are not there to worship, they are there to do business.

Hi! I found your channel yesterday, and was glad to find out you've been doing this for a while.
Briefly: I found reaction videos last year when I realized it's probably the closest substitute to going to the movies with friends I can find during isolation. And even though it's not the same thing, I find having at least a some kind of social aspect to watching movies comforting.
Finally, I just wanted to say, that for what it's worth, I for one don't think you have to say anything if you don't feel like it. Your emotions will come through regardless, and that is more than enough. Thank you for doing this.

About crying during that Auschwitz lesson : don't worry, you're not the only one. I've never been to Auschwitz myself, but I've been to both Terezin (near Prague) and Dachau (near Munchen). I almost started crying myself when I read the plaque that was left in their crematory oven's room in memory of 3 spies that were murdered in Dachau. I could be wrong, but of the top of my head it was 2 British spies and 1 French Resistance fighter... All three of them were women... So you can easily imagine what exactly they went through BEFORE being murdered. Yikes... still makes my skin crawls.
Also, I know you live in Norway, but if you ever get the chance, go to the Imperial War Museum in London, England. It's a multiple-floors museum and the top two floors are reserved exclusively to the Holocost. When I came back to my hotel room that night, I was still shook from my visit there.
And for the language barrier don't worry... I'm French-Canadian myself and only speak two languages. And your English is already much better than mine... I didn't even notice an accent when listening to you.

The cousin of my wife's grandfather was the jewler who made the ring.
Schindler Jews invited him to their family celebrations like weddings etc. They also raised money in order to help support him.
