      *gtdupe* This bag is well made and beautiful. Looking from the outside, you wouldn't know it wasn't true. I don't see these things.

    Yes to gingham, peplums, feminine dressing. I hate barrel jeans, but yes to wide leg. Not a fan of chunky jewelry on my small frame. Have several white dresses I look forward to wearing. Leopard in small amounts. I like soft yellow and it is usually difficult to find so glad to see it trending.

    Plastic shoes are a no go, definitely! I still remember when I was torturing my feet with synthetic leather flats back in my uni days...I don't wanna repeat the experience if possible 😅

    Yess totally agree! I don't like capris either. Straight and flare styles will always come back around imo. As you said, denim takes so much water to produce, and it's better if we stick to denim styles that we'll wear for many years. I'm still loving flares and plan to keep wearing them when they go out again! ❤

    Omg what a throwback - your earrings are lovely and remind me of some earrings I had in 2010 from a British brand called Tallulah-Tu. Miss that brand a lot eheh. I dig the bow trend a lot.

    Balzac has released some nice Leopard print items (better than Rouje imo) if you wanna check it out :) I’m with you on all “trends I’m hating”, it’s already so damn difficult to find a good pair of jeans that fit me perfectly, so no I’m sticking with them and won’t invest in any trends that don’t look good for my body shape. Great video, Katie!

    I agree with you on most points... but I still love my Cos off-white and Levi's blue barrel jeans (not egregiously barrel) as well as my Mary Jane flats made from leather and woven raffia. They are so cute, comfortable, and entirely breathable. The horseshoe jeans are the worst.

    • @katie_louise
      @katie_louise  Před 2 měsíci

      I think both of those are items I would like!! I like the subtle barrel on other people, and the woven flats sound super cute in leather/raffia - just not a fan of the plastic ones. ☺️

    The gingham pants are not Nordic (it is French), as are the Claudine collars. By the way, gingham pants and those blouses are always there, so they should be on sale at vinted (at least from Mediterranean brands: Spanish, French and Italian), I would advise looking at the composition and not buying polyester or similar, no matter how vintage it may be. be. I have some and I want to see if you can get others by the way, well, if I'm completely honest it's that I love gingham and polka dots and since every year they release beautiful things with those prints well... I have quite a few things. And blouses with that type of collar... Well, if I could I would buy them all, so I limited myself to 1-2 per year.
    Ways to wear gingham print pants (which are not for hanging around the house), for example: red top or cardigan, navy blue or black gingham print pants, and espadrilles and ballet flats. Or wear a black or navy top with red espadrilles or ballet flats. Top it all off with a basket and some red lips. Or wear an off-the-shoulder top or blouse with sandals and feel like Brigitte Bardot for a day (you deserve it)

    Butter yellow or pastel yellow is one of my favorites, but every time I tried to wear it, I ended up being an insect magnet, so I don’t know if I find it practical. Any tips to avoid that? 😂

    I have lived in Sweden for 15 years, and I have never seen people wearing gingham trousers (unless they are pyjamas!). That must be a Danish trend not a Scandinavian one...

    • @katie_louise

      I think part of the trend is kind of 'pyjamas worn as trousers' but maybe I'm mistaken! Maybe it's more of an internet trend and less apparent irl

    I understand plastic is not a sustainable option however let's not forget what leather is made of: dead animals. That's not sustainable either.

    • @katie_louise
      @katie_louise  Před 2 měsíci +3

      I think in that case we should distinguish between sustainable and ethical? I feel personally leather is much more sustainable, if only because of its longevity and biodegradability compared to plastic. I would much rather buy a pair of leather shoes that will last for many years and then eventually biodegrade, than a pair of plastic shoes that last for one season and then end up in landfill. Do you have any recommendations on alternative footwear choices that are long-wearing, sustainable and ethical? 😊

    • @Veemerica
      @Veemerica Před 2 měsíci

      @@katie_louise Avesu (www.avesu.eu) has a great info section that explains why some choices are preferable to others.
      Beflamboyant (www.beflamboyant.com) recycles plastic from the sea, that's a great idea.
      I know big designer brands are exploring the options too. Stella McCartney for example.

    • @Veemerica
      @Veemerica Před 2 měsíci

      @@katie_louise I would like to add that I too wear leather shoes, sometimes. I have MS and walking is a challenge on a good day. If a shoe is comfortable and walks well, then I buy it, leather or not. But I am very conscious of the consequences of my choice. And I don't mean to tell anyone not to buy leather shoes. Let's just keep our eyes open and accept that some things are less sustainable than we would like them to be.
