You're not alone. I used to play KR when I was 8-9, I had no idea that this series had lore. And now that I returned to the series, I realized that it is not just a game series. Its a legend, with a story behind it!
@@danielgedalyahu9848 Same. I cry when i think about it. Browser version, playing tablet when I was 8-9 too... I was pretty good at it. Then i bought it on Steam for heroes. I kinda knew there's some kind of story, because i played it in order 1-frontiers-origins and I watched those comics. I love KR :D. I also think I've played clash of olympians back then.
Btw I remembered that on kingdom rush 1 browser version (on ironhide games) there was some kind of reinforcement star wars skin??? D you recall that?

@@JM-bt3wd Vez'nan is the guy who released the bad guy of doom in the Legends of Kingdomrush, you can see that he unlocks some sort of cellar in the castle and release an ancient demon at the end of the credits of Kingdomrush Vengeance

Bruh, I LOVE how much lore is in this game, and how each game adds to this lore.
This games lore is SO MUCH LIKE LOTR. Really cool to see one of my favorite games and series from my childhood draw so many parallels
Spider and evil sorceress = ungoliant and morgoth
Wizard that gets corrupted by evil = saruman
Elves and dwarves = elves and dwarves
Morgoth and Ungoliant destroying the two trees.

I think the spell that Lord Blackburn got his witches to cast was the same one that Tristen and Umber got their warlocks to cast. Both essentially did the same thing: "protecting" their kingdom by transforming it into a wasteland and the inhabitants into monsters. Indeed, Blackburn, Tristen and Umber are all ghosts, and they incidentally have werewolves and skeletons as part of their troops.
The big difference is that in life, Lord Blackburn was far less of an evil person than the Diarchs of Varladul.

Blackburn reminds me somewhat of Artorias(Dark souls) he fought evil so long that he got corrupted by it.
Bro Beresad is an OG for living this long, in Origins, you see him as a baby.
Back then, i played kr just coz i found it online when i was bored during summer vaca, got addicted but finished it quick and deleted it. Recently, i found out there are different parts, a franchise. I played it and it was fun, then suddenly, i started reading shit in game and found how interesting the lore is, i visited the other games and connected the dots coz i thought its a consequence at first but i realized how kr is not just a normal td game. I went here and it blew my mind, kr is something else

All of this is a lot more similar to Tolkien's Middle Earth lore than I expected, which makes it imo even better.
Iv played through all 4 of these games on Steam but when you play the games so far apart, its hard to remember everything.
So pretty much where we are at the moment in the timeline is Veznan has won and most of his old foes from the 1st game are banished or in his jail. I wonder if the 5th game means a bigger threat will emerge, which will result in Veznan needing to release his former foes to help him stop what ever the threat is? That would be so cool seeing the good/evil armies unite in a game, and maybe we get the ability to have 2 heroes at once.
Also amazing the gem that was so important to the first 3 games, ends up in the Iron Marine universe after Frontiers.
This is what will happen in the 5th tower defense game, as in The Legends of Kingdom Rush we face off an eldrich entity from another world. At the end, Vez'nan and Magnus travel to the elven lands where Origins took place, and they will unite all armies across the franchise in order to face off this new threat

Pretty sure Lord Blackburn could be considered as "actually good?"/"least evil" thanks to his backstory. J.T. as well since he's literally just a big dumb yeti who was hungry, and likely wasn't even allied with Vez'nan.

This video cleared up my confusions about the entire timeline of the Kingdom Rush series.
Thought I'm still kinda curious about what happened to the corrupted Linirea's Gem after it fell to the hands of Sha'tra *(And also how did Sha'tra managed to get it in his hands in the first place).*
I'm not saying that Sha'tra is a bad guy but seeing how Faustus still haven't returned back into good *(I presume)* nor the Gem still haven't purified back into its original sky blue color appearance made me kinda skeptical about Sha'tra *(Note: I'm not familiar with Iron Marines Invasion's story and lore)*
Kingdom rush‘s lore is so interesting. I hope they will continue the games because by far the story seems very incomplete.

Good, tlreally good. But one mistake:
Jack was not fighting with denas forces. No. He was one of the generals of Tristan and Umber, the Diarchs of Valardul (which became gosts by ritual performed by Clan of Warlocks.). He was very ancient guy, much older than denas, as his kings became that gosts. With lattters Vez'nan made a second deal, about undead army.
Moreover, u didn't mentioned about Hammer of ages. Hammer had a special power, gifted by gods - the being created by tgis hammer can be breaken only with it. Umbra was captured and encaged by Legendary creator of hammer (forgot his name). Thus, Malagar needed it to break the crystal cage, and needed the power of Crystal to awoke sleeping Umbra (as crystal has a god-measured power) . The Evil power of staff was enfused into umbra and awoke it. Still the crystal is more powerful than Umbra.
Then, Vez'nan is not Moloch (wtf, bro?) he is the Demon lord, which gaved Vez'nan the control of demons in exchange of his soul.
The rest are correct but it was never said in the video that Vez'nan is Moloch??

Vez nan talks to the eye to open the portal for the demon world, asra helps gerald escape from linirea, he fights through all the enemies in his and team way, eventually reaching the eye and killing it forever, later on there will be the final batle between the humans and vez nan

Some of the people who fled after Vez'nan took over Liniera finds an ancient relic capable of summoning a dragon. What they don't know is that they aren't powerful enough to command it and if it reaches his full power the whole realm is doomed. So you have to kill the dragon before it regains his power.
