AWESOME GUITAR... If I Can Get The Box Open...

  • Yes, I'm jumping on the 10S guitars bandwagon! This is the company that made Steve TerreBerry's insane 20 string guitar, but today I'll look at something a bit more old school. Perfect for a wannabe 80's shredder like me! This is a unique with great specs, and still very affordable. Only problem is, can I get the box open without destroying the guitar?
    Checkout the guitar here: reverb.grsm.io/10s-black-ebon...
I'm using 2 amps for my demo. My trusty Blackstar ID Core: amzn.to/38YS0so
    And the Fender GTX100: amzn.to/3epRDrD

    • @RainMakeR_Workshop
      @RainMakeR_Workshop Před 4 lety +4

@DeadShred999 Well you're brainwashed by modern knife and Victorian sabre marketing, it makes you sound like you know nothing about swords (and if you're asking that about THE most well known and probably biggest sword market online, I'd say that's accurate). Quality varies as they're just a retailer, not the manufacturer.
Full Tang barely makes a difference in swords.
Is it a stronger construction method? Yes.
Does it make much difference? No.
Nor does Full Tang equal quality.
99% of sword breaks happen on the blade, not the tang. The few that happen at the tang are pretty much always due to poor execution, such as a hard angle where it transitions to the Tang rather than a smooth transition to the Tang. There is a reason most medieval swords didn't use full tang construction, and it wasn't lack of know how.
If you insist on your ill-educated demands from a sword, then you want something in the German Messer family. Lange Messer/Grosse Messer (one handed) or Kriegsmesser (two handed). Or a few Military Sabres have a Full Tang.
As for art, it depends how you mean. All Albion Armorers and BKS swords are a work of art. But they are art for their superior quality and finishing. Not for overly fancy design. Generally you'll find the flashy looking swords are wall hanger, display only, nonfuctional SLO junk. Not to say Albion and BKS don't do fancy work, they do. But most of it is a more classy form of fancy.

@@RainMakeR_Workshop full tang is not a sometimes thing in a functional sword. It is more necessity than you make it out to be. Ever try to get crazy with a rat tang? You'll break that sword out of it's handle trying to cut a tatomi mat. Not sure why you think this, but whatever. You do you and people who actually train the sword will buy full tang.

oh i just saw that they, named the guitar high brightness, maybe they had the inlays prepaired for this guitar so they put the same inlay on my guitar to save time. or they liked my idea and put my inlay on these guitars. but kinda funny to see that inlay, i didn´t expect it to see it on another guitar.

That fretboard looks like it was coated in the Rickenbacker style (very glossy), but if your fingers didn't feel like they were sticking to it, cool. Overall, a very nice piece!

Hey man! The Dragonfires are great for feedback. By that I mean, they don't feedback. I really like the Phat Screamers and also the Hexbuckers.

What's the riff at 8:25? It's sounds very familiar but I can't place it. Also, the last video mentioned monster trucks too. Is this a hint at a monster truck video for Heavy Metal Horizons?

I'd really like to know if this guitar has a finish on the fretboard or is the wood just polished. When I do a fret level and recrown for someone I do not spend time taping up the fretboard. This is a waste of time. I level and recrown Frets using a technofret advanced fret leveling system available on eBay. This allows you to level your Frets with your strings still on the guitar using your brand and grade of strings. It's the poor man's PLEK accurate to .0001" inch per foot which is basically immeasurable. I do the little semi hemispherical ends on them, you know the hot dog ends so they're really slick. I polish the Frets and fretboard using 3M TriMite wet/dry polishing paper. They have six different grits starting at 400 grit going up to 8000 grit, yes I said that right, 8000 Grit. You start with the coarsest 400 grit working your way up to the finest 8000 Grit. You go over the top of the Frets and the fretboard at the same time. Then run your hand up and down the edges of the fretboard creating hot dog ends and rolling the edges of the fretboard at the same time which is easier. You kill two birds with one stone doing one job while accomplishing two. Rosewood, Ebony or any type of unfinished wood ends up shining like lacquered Maple and the Frets look like mirror polished chrome. The fretboard is just as shiny as if you have a finish on it but it has none. It feels really great. You feel the wood in your hands, it shines like lacquered Maple and still allows you to oil it Plus you don't waste time and tape, taping up the fretboard. You won't have any more time polishing the Frets and the fretboard than you will in just only polishing the frets. except you will not have spent the time to tape the fretboard. I see no point in doing that. I really like the way this looks. Everybody has always asked how do I get to fretboard to look so shiny like that without putting a finish on it? If you do your own fretwork or even if you don't and you just want to polish your frets this is the way to go. I'm telling you you'll be surprised at the results. It'll take you about an hour to sit there and do it but you can sit in a comfortable chair and do it while you're watching TV, listening to CD or whatever. You end up with a great look using 3M TriMite wet Dry polishing paper. I get my polishing paper from Rio Grande jewelry supply because you get to full size sheets of each grade that's 12 sheets total for the same price that everybody else charges for 6 sheets you get double the sheets for the same price it's about $15 for the assorted pack. This is also great for polishing up your guitar's nut or anything on the guitar that you want to buff to a glossy finish. You don't need any kind of power tools all you need is patience and your two hands. Using your hands allows you to control it better. You won't accidentally buff through the Finish somewhere and screw up. This is invaluable product when you work on guitars!! A Bone or Tusq Nut polished to a mirror shine looks so nice. Really classy and sets the whole look of the guitar off especially with a glossy ebony or Rosewood fretboard and Frets that look like mirrors. I'm sorry for such a long-winded post but I don't know any other way to describe this process to you I hope you try it sometime. You will find you can polish the Frets and the fretboard in the same time it used to take you to polish the Frets by themselves. You will have saved the time and the tape you normally spend taping up the guitar.
    God Bless You
    & Your Family!!
