  • Comparison between John Deere vacuum meter and Precision Planting e sets. This clip also shows how changing vacuum and planting speed affect singulation. Singulation is the percent of correctly placed seeds; no skip, no double, and not misplaced.

Without a doubt, the best bang for your $ when it comes to planter upgrades. I would like Precision to address irregular seed shape (such as sweet corn). While our planter performs better than it without esets, it still isn't the best with sweet corn seed. For now, just nature of the beast I guess.

I see some problems with this video. Problem#1 If you stop the video at 27 or 28 seconds you will see that their is a gold looking piece in the cover. That piece is used in SOYBEAN not corn. The piece that is suppose to be ther is a knockout wheel. Problem #2 I you look at the top of the aluminum meter you will see to 2 holes. They are missing the double eliminator. When They run the meter you will see that there are high amounts of skips and multiples. Problem #3 In the video they are

Please explain the gross difference in vaccuum difference between the 2 units. Thanks.

Running a old seed disk. They have had a new disk out for a while now, pro max 40 disks (cell). Problem #4 The vaccum is not set correctly. The vaccum setting is around 18-20 inmg. Problem #5 price. To rebuild a jd vaccum meter it would be around $110 for the eset meter your ordering it online for $120 and whatever cost it is to run the meters at a stand. So after this video I hope you realize that you are just pay way to much for a product that does that same.

I wouldn't plant corn without it. Watch my video response and see for yourself.

JD 30 cell disk is what is being tested in this video, a singulator is not used with the 30 cell disk as the disk has a cup. That is where most of the problem exists is from seed not fitting into the cup. JD recommended vac settings for the 30 cell disk is what was used in this test. First at 10 lbs then 12 lbs to show the two ends of the range of their recommendations. The problem with JD's other disk, the promax 40, is how it pitches seed down the side of the tube, making poor spacing.
