  • 2. Curve Concept tutorial series - 1 Parametric Tower
You will learn how to create a parametric tower which is set by a curve in model space. You will also learn how to create a truss structure with data shift and graph mapper.

It was so great. Thank you for explaining that.

How do I set instead of a circle my own Curve? I have a different form I want to use.
    Thank you for the guide!

Thanks great video. But I have a question, if I use a free drawn curve on rhino and assign it on grasshopper instead of using the circle, how can I place these curves into the segment of the line ? as it doesn't have a plane to set like the circle or polygon. ( Sorry I'm a beginner in using rhino grasshopper)

Thank you for your kind comment and question. It is a very good question. There is a component called 'Orient' which allows place a closed shape. along a curve. You will still need per frames and define the centre of the shape(this works as a plane). To define the centre of the shape, you can use 'Area' which gives 1. area of shape and 2. centroid. I might have covered this in my other tutorial so I will ping you a link if I did. Let me know if it works. Otherwise I will make one to show you how to do this. Hope it helps

I have applied this truss design to a much larger structure, resulting in 30 points per floor over 30 floors and it has made my model very very slow if I change any parameters. Any idea what the reason for this might be and how to make the model more computationally efficient?
