Robert Bakker is absolutely brilliant. He is so profound, I am taken aback. Would love to meet him at Whiteside one day. When are you going up?

Ethical, ethical, no. Not at all, most likely worse.

I know I'm late to the party, but hey, thanks for this wonderful interview with one of my very favorite scientists.
To answer his fascinating question (from my Ayn Randian perspective), I think the ethical message is very much like his Hepburn movie quote that "nature is what we must rise above". Our niche isn't instinct, it's _thought._ We're the only ones on this planet with both the need and the ability - therefore with the moral imperative - to identify our best and worst survival strategies so as to make us more capable of living and to make our lives more worth the effort. That lesson can be drawn from evolution, but also from zoology of the present day, and really _any_ day. The nutshell is that we have the choice, and nature demands that we choose well.

So true. We're where we are because of the choices we make and the choices we fail to make. Choose wisely.... especially on who you decide to be.
