- The Killer marks the fifth consecutive time David Fincher has recruited Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross to score his films, following The Social Network (which won the musicians an Oscar), The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (which won them a Grammy), Gone Girl, and Mank. The Killer, based on a French graphic novel, stars Michael Fassbender as a hitman who has a terrible time when he’s forced to face the consequences of his actions. Thx man i was searching everywhere for The Sunshine state 12:08 thanks
Stick to the Plan is my new theme while I go about my day running errands
The closest flick to Hitman games we will ever get that doesn't suck. Wish it was more than just 2hr. More planing, more social stealth shenanigans. It was so much fun, great movie.
Wish it was tv series of 10 episodes with every episode as a different kill mission.
@@morgan3692 like Kojima tweeted, it could easily be the start of a franchise. I wouldn't even mind if Fincher asked Jesper Kyd to join the venture. Just need a good script and same people.
@@sayChristIsKing Fincher Literally left Minecraft on hold.
@@sayChristIsKing it is based on a comic book series, so maybe it might be but I kind of don't want that because then it becomes a formulaic slog that would deteriorate the initial feeling you get seeing the film for the first time turning it into a genre franchise instead of a one-off character study which I think is what makes this film so engaging, the world of the film would feel opaque without hearing the how defined the killer's interior monologue is superimposed as he navigates his life and that can only be so engrossing for so long, I feel like this film is Fincher poking fun at himself and how is characters usually are in his work so a franchise would exhaust this aspect in a tacky way both in it's slang meaning and in it's literal definition but that's just me
Playing “Hitman: World of Assassination” with “The Killer” OST. Bliss
Dooope!!! ❤❤❤😍😍😍
New Hitman trilogy severely lacks in the soundtrack department, this soundtrack fits well 47's persona and overall psychotic mood I agree.
@@sayChristIsKingI wouldn’t say 47 is psychotic, he is exactly what the KILLER was trying to be, completely detached and devoid of emotion. 47 is this because he was designed to be a killer.
@@SARCOPSEDITZ I meant as in psychopathy. Couldn't think of a better word, psychotic could mean something different, I agree.
YESSSS Lol while i was watching this i had SUCH a strong urge to play hitman again!! the OG soundtracks are too dope
Stick to your plan. Anticipate, don’t improvise. Trust no one. Never yield an advantage. Fight only the battle you’re paid to fight. Forbid empathy. Empathy is weakness. Weakness is vulnerability
At every step along the way, ask yourself: "what's in it for me?"
Are you saying this ironically?
Trent and Atticus know what it takes to succeed
“Post-industrial horror music” at its best! My favourite album of 2023.
If you didn’t know, Trent Reznor did the Quake video game soundtrack in 1996, and this sounds JUST like it, which is incredible.
imagine him and mick gordon work on something...
He did girl with the dragon tattoo main theme as well and Seven
He also had a band named nine inch nails. Y'all should listen if you liked this ost
@@RecruitXP No
@@Ricky_019 it's just a wee little band, you've probably never heard of it...
(sorry, as a NIN fan myself, your comment just really tickled me)
Stick to the Plan is giving me Cliff Martinez Contagion vibes. That thumping beat and steady and increasing unease is a palpable.
Time was simple when that dropped
the movie was such a masterpiece
Solid, but masterpiece, you need to see more films.
@@dufung3980 Which films do you consider masterpieces?
@@bobby4667 second this.
A Sigma Grindset Masterpiece
Eh it kinda didn't work
One of the most unreal soundtracks ever. The Brute part 2 is insane
The second piece of music on this soundtrack is going to be long remembered. Major Social Network vibes when I heard this for the first time half an hour into the movie. Knew we'd be in for a good film from then on
Yes, so on point!
This movie had one of The most Brutal Fight Scene ever between The Killer and “Brute” .
Ask yourself, WWJWD, What would John Wilkes Booth do?
Yeah what would he do, there must be a reason he said that, I just need to think.
ANOTHER ONE. Trent & Atticus do not miss
Trent Reznor the GOAT
we the best music
@@norpriest521NIN forever! I lived it in the 90's!
I always look forward for David Fincher's movies OST, then watch the movie, like learning the freaking lyrics for a concert. Couldn't expect less from these two geniuses.
This film is just plain AWESOME...and mean all of it
One of yhe best movies i have seen in a long time. I am retired so i watch a lot of movies.
I'm 29 and have watched about 120 movies this year. This one in my to 5.
I remember seeing that David Fincher was the director for this movie, then I said to myself, “wait a minute, don’t tell me ‘they’ did the soundtrack” and lo and behold, I saw that it was made by Trent and Atticus and automatically pressed play
I am going to mix this with the smith's songs to make the perfect playlist.
the ambiance for The Hideout is everything
Soundtrack is so good it's got me feeling like a master assassin while im washing dishes.
Masterpiece. Thank you Mr. Fincher. You did it again.
God, the Brute soundtrack sounds like your inside the body of a person dying and getting the shit kicked out of them. I guess that's fitting, but it sounds so alien and disturbing. (Which is great.)
I could be wrong but I believe Trent’s inspiration for the Brute’s soundtrack is Mother Brain’s level in Super Metroid.
@@tacomaamocat4309damn good call. Nice attention to detail.
reminds me a lot of the OST of "INSIDE" (Playdead's masterpiece game), which was partly re-recorded inside an actual human skull 💀 (by Martin Stig Andersen)
Most insane movie ive seen in a long time, i wish it was a series!!
Coining a new term for soundtracks by Reznor and Atticus, Raddicus.
Masterpiece
modern day master piece. not only the score which fits perfect to the whole mood of the movie.
i watched it the second time yesterday, and i think its the Le Samurai of this century.
couldnt get enough of fassbenders acting and voiceover. just perfect and well done!
thanks mister fincher!
Wow awesomely made ... good job guys❤
Phenomenal film, I knew it would be, love the feel of this music too.
The way some of these compositions evolve is mesmerizing.
I need this on vinyl asap
Sorry - but we HAVE to get a HITMAN/Agent 47 mini-series by Fincher, with this type of soundtrack & Fassbender as Agent 47 where each episode is a mission; some from the game some new. It's a perfect setup.
Thought that myself watching haha. If anyone could do it, definitely a man of his cinematic precision!
It would be perfect idea
Outstanding movie and great soundtrack as well
Trent & Atticus deliver again 🔥
A killer soundtrack ;)
Magnificent soundtrack.
Reznor and Ross are an underrated power duo. their soundtrack for The Social Network was a masterpiece
I mean, they won 2 Oscar and they are literally Nine Inch Nails
Love the killer so freakin much it gave me vibes of movie's like Michael Mann's theif or Charles Bronson the mechanic in the sense that there really brilliant movie's about specific characters and to me that's what David Fincher did so well with this movie love it so much
27:04 fav part
This movie made me believe he could be James Bond. 0:00 theme is perfect too I love the coldness
That’s what I thought
Incredible analog sounds
The Killer needs to be an 8 episode mini, Fincher has experience with Mind Hunter, should have just did that again.
Real
Onde Trent Reznor põe a mão, vira obra de arte.
i was led to believe this would be a Smiths mixer
{THE KILLER} Directions AND Soundtracks

47:00 holy guacamoly
The Hideout track is my favorite
I need to watch this multiple times to understand everything about it, all i understand is if you know what your doing, technology and dna you can use it to your advantage and the police can't do anything, back in the 60s murder was so easy, dont really have to plan much, but this day an age murder is hard work and lots of labour, so basically treat it like a full time job.
If you can do that, nobody can catch you it'll be almost impossible, only law of averages can catch you, or simply luck
Stick to your plan. Trust no one. Stick to the plan. Forbid empathy. Stick to the plan. Anticipate, don't improvise. Stick to your plan.
Ask yourself, WWJWBD?
And on top of that, with that being said, shit can still go wrong. One must adopt a code of ethics. To not get emotional, don't get invested mentally, stay cold, and stay focused. Stick to a strict plan. Or you're looking to be in a world of hurt.
@@EzeICE when a person dedicates a hole day, week or even month just to kill someone, all that leg work, that Labor, just to make sure everything goes right, it has to be perfect, does that make that individual worse than someone like ted bundy or hitman in the 90s, cause I like to think that certain individual would be worse than them. And I don't mean perfect as in ocd or something, it has to go right, studying the streets, the neighbourhood, all the cctv in the area, the location inside and out, duffel bag in a different location with clothes, ECT
This is one moody, strange, great-sounding, badass motherf*cking music.
I love it to the core
Best movie, best soundtrack, best intro.
Thanks Fincher!
Definitely one of the most intense soundtracks out there
The Killer looks like Inspector Gadget
best part of the movie. and the fight scene.
where is the music from the credits, what is that song? and what is he listening to on his headphones??
The Truth about those who listen to Morrisey 🎉 ❤
went from consequences are automatic being my favourite to the brute

That trailer song is intense
I didn't know they were allowed to put good movies on Netflix anymore. I was shocked. The main character was even allowed to be male!
Quality not quantity…
The way the soundtrack was integrated into the movie was a disappointment. I don't know if it was because I was watching from my phone, but it was so muted/underwhelming and did not feel anything like Trent's and Atticus's previous work. But listening from YT like this I can finally enjoy it properly.
Fuckin awesome
The main theme (at 0:00) is 47 seconds long. 47. Coincidence ? I think not.
What or who sang the sound feel like a woman in this movie If anyone knows please. I thought it sounded like lana del rey but I can't find who it was. The song was lovely.
If anxiety had a sound, this would be it.
This is what it takes to succeed!
The one thing I can't get is at the start why he didn't fire off a burst of shots. He moved the scope to the maid, WTF?
Most likely because it's the first time he failed, so he was a bit surprised, he was trying to comprehend, then he had to aim and recalibrate, remember if had of taken another shot through the curtains, he could've gotten caught as he left, he left in the nick of time. So luckily he didn't take another shot.
@fr6nz99 in the nick of time? It takes a second to pull off a few more shots, any good sniper knows that. Two seconds more doesn't mean you will get caught. He even said that he was a crap sniper, he preferred close quarters. He did a lot of things that didn't go his way. He was a fuck up.
@@mkphotofilm I understand that, hindsight is 20/20 if he did take another shot, which would take a second, the police would've seen him leave on the bike, he left just as they came, so that second was so important, he also couldn't see through the curtain properly, still I gotta watch it again just to be sure.
@@mkphotofilm yeah bit of suprise and when he looked through the sniper, the sniper was already looking at the maid, so he tried to adjust a bit but not enough time. I wouldn't say he's a fuck up, everybody makes mistakes, luckily for him it was his first he still got away at the end, so it was a success
@@mkphotofilm he couldn't make another shot cause his heart beat was so high after the miss that's why he leaves and you can hear his breath during the scape...remember what he said he needs his heart beat to drop to 60 to take the shot
0:47
Something is off about this one...IDK but it's so dreamy and odd for some reason
To me it's perfect, for some reason it reminds of the theme, angel hand by monster (anime)
@@fr6nz99
Me too, I also loved it and it was used perfectly in the escape scene.

"only god forgives"!

Great soundtrack just a little slow
Uncompromising. I really expected to see a hitman standing behind him in the end resort scene.
cine
Stick to the plan
I miss The Smiths...?
alright where's the smiths
Good work... but not their best
KNLLER
Movie wasn't bad at all (especially compared to the one sided, politically charged tripe coming out nowadays), but in all honesty I derived a boatload more pleasure from blasting this soundtrack by itself than I did from the movie!
Let's just acknowledge that both this film and the soundtrack that surrounds the atmosphere in this film, is underrated as fuck! Hopefully this film gains a cult following as time evolves.
@@SuperBat63 100% agree both are underrated. But what I'm getting at is that the music is just SO intense when taken by itself that it "gave" more to me on a visceral level than the movie in its entirety. Maybe it's a bit of an apples to oranges comparison, after all it's different media, I understand... But what can I say - the music just had more impact on me by itself!
@@archmonstuffThat's understandable. That one fight scene though was🔥!

The only weak things about this movie were the taxi driver's acting and Tilda Swinton's character
Movie felt to basic. Could have done more.
Is this movie a parody?
As boring and useless as the movie
Фильм конечно полное фуфло. Про киллера-дегенерата. Хоть тут и любимый Фассбендер и режиссер Финчер. Полный провал...
This is noise not music
Sometimes noise is what a movie needs to drive a given emotional response. Music sets pacing, can be invasive to a film, noise on the otherhand is far better at setting a jarring tonality.
'I think there's something strangely musical about noise'. Trent Reznor.
Music is noise, everything is noise, Taylor Swift is noise.
very insightful thank you
