Hello Konrad! I would like to approach you about the visa system which disadvantages international students that have studied in Australia. I was effected by the changes of visa types and requirements while studying in Australia. I studied first Laboratory Technology and could not find any employment in this field whether during my studies nor after within the 2 years of course duration. In order to have more job opportunities I completed a course in cookery as it was the field I was working at as a kitchenhand. Nevertheless, after my studies I am confronted with such an amount of backpackers in the region where I live who have taken on jobs in hospitality without any experience or qualification so that I was unemployed, and looked for housekeeping positions. There are around 300,000 backpackers in Australia each year, mainly working in hospitality with no qualification, often working 2 or 3 jobs at the same time, when they leave the position, they tell the backpackers community to replace the position. It is very difficult to get a job competing for a position. It is the system which results to this issue. Chef is in the skilled list and therefore many students study commercial cookery in Australia. Backpackers suppose to support the economy as well as being on holidays, however most of them focus on working than travelling. Employers employ them easily on a casual basis, as they can be replaced quickly as well. It would be more beneficial for the economy to invest into sponsored qualified long-term employees instead, for the employers and the employee. Now, they are allowed to work more than 6 months at the same employer in the hospitality sector which again disadvantages International Graduates. I do understand that backpackers do farm jobs, but in my view it would be even there a benefit to sponsor qualified farmers from overseas with many years of experience in their country, they could contribute persistently in the occupational as farmers, maybe bring even valuable knowledge with, instead of backpackers trying to collect their 3 or 6 months farm work. The numbers of backpackers has even increased tremendously. The chances to find sponsorship decreases at the same time in the hospitality field. This system needs to be improved in the way to decrease backpackers numbers to max 20,000 per year with no extension and limit to 3 months at 1 employer, so that the money and energy invested into the Australian qualification would become more realistic.

@@stonecoldfrostgamingstudio2532 I suppose I was a little to agitated when I wrote that my man. Sorry about that.
I am a guessing its because I have had more privilege and luck to have had a good appartment and location here in Melbourne. Studied IT, worked a few months as a software developer and worked as a helpdesk assistant, and even I work in kitchens on the weekends I have had good people around and personality seems to fit in with the correct people. I mean I talk alot. I sound different because my accent connects to laid back people here.
I mean I want a residency but my heart does not go and weigh into cookery. Its probably because I am much into technology, growing up in a city based location, my lifestyle and my interests, just adds too much ego and less desperation because I never had or plan to make a hard lifestyle work to fruitful rewards.
Which is bad, I know what I said is wrong and is out of anger but I have respect for the people who really come from actual rural areas in 3rd world countries and work very hard and do anything to get residency. I mean thats the actual example all international students shoulf set.
But yeah, I am just thinking of doing what I can to extend my stay. Also, I am working as a software dev on weekdays fulltime but also have been a kitchen hand for 5 years. So you can tell how much I need the kitchen employers who are very good to me but also, I don't want to move up because I want to move up in my industry. I am getting better in Software. Just gotta find a way to keep my job even after TR ends.
Anyways bro, sorry if I offended you or any consultancies. Its their job to make it easy and what they recommend isn't wrong. But well, you know my story. I am just a privileged white guy sounding Nepalese who has alot of friends, has alot of charisma and loves building sites and playing games but hasn't gotten anywhere because its actually the god damn victoria programs or conditionins preventing me from getting what I want 🤣.

Hello Karl, Very useful info. I have one query and wonder whether your firm can assist. Our son is an Australian citizen, my wife and I are permanent residence, who took permanent residency in 2012, through sponsorship of by our son (clause 143). Our daughter at that time was studying in Melbourne as an international student and she was 20 years old at that time. When our PR application was completed, the migration firm in Melbourne, who completed our application did not include our daughter because she was above 18 years old. I requested them to include, but they did not. My daughter studied here from 2009 to 2015, but somehow nothing materialised and she finally returned to India in 2016. After seeing your video, my wife and I wonder why the migration firm did not include our daughter in our application. It has been now 10 years. Our daughter is still living with us and dependent on us and we live in both places in India and Australia, but majority of time in India, where our daughter is based. She has visited Australia as a tourist few times. I would like to check if there is still a strong case for us to lodge an application for our daughter, we would like to do that. Can we discuss it with you to see the possibility of her receiving PR as a last member of our family through assistance from your firm?
