Dr Kathy--are woman able to be tested for low risk type 6 and 11 HPV? If I was diagnosed with HPV and my last partner I had unprotected sex with for a year. If my partner said that she has had an Pap/HPV co test done and her test was negative. But, my question is are these tests that are done with the Pap only looking for oncological HPV types

@@olenkalopez1175 That's false! A pap with hpv testing (30 years + get a pap with hpv testing (cotesting). A 21-29 year old will get a reflex pap and are usually also tested for gonorrhea and chlamydia via sureswab). The cotest results will come back with the strain number(s) you tested positive for and you will be asked to come back in 1 year for another pap. You need 2 positive hpv paps (usually) before they will ask to do a colposcopy, and then another pap one year after depending on your results.
HPV positive, ASCUS, or ASCUS with positive HPV.
