To be honest, I can only understand about 25-35%...but I'm learning. lol. I agree with the comment of using Chernobyl as a topic. I think that would be interesting.
I used Google for this but hope one day to be fluent. God bless.
That book os Svetlana Alexeievitch describes very well this historical fact. Soviet Union ended six months away but the scene of Yeltsin standing up in a tank is considered the fact.
Svetlana Alekseevich is a GRAPHOMANIAC. Her "literature" is so full of wild fabrications that it is simply material for a psychiatrist. Never mention S. Alekseevich in a conversation with serious people. Do not disgrace yourself. The fact that she was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature is simply a political act. She and her "literature" simply correspond to the agenda that the "Nobel Committee" is promoting. This is not art, this is propaganda.
Lovely Yaroslava, it would be great if you would also tell us what happened next (in as many videos as necessary), at least all the way up to midnight, Dec31, 1999?
I don't remember this being covered in the west. I actually knew a man who fought in the 1917 revolution, He made a very good living for himself in the U.S.
Your lessons are very well done -- the most useful ones for Russian on the Internet. One thing you don't realize, though, is that a sizable proportion of people who want to learn Russian are politically engaged, often in directions that may seem strange to you. You may understand that the continuous introduction of your political bias is unnerving for whomever does not share your personal belief system. I won't continue following you as I'd like to avoid getting upset: I don't know enough Russian to use the deserved profanity...
@@Natalya.57.Volkova It wouldn't be very evident in this video but from others it's clear she opposes the current leadership in Russia. I will be generous and assume she does so out of personal conviction rather than being paid to do so. I continue to watch her anyway as her content is more intelligent than that of your average russian youtube content creator. Not watching someone because he or she might upset you seems a bit silly to me. You can't avoid being upset in life.
I truly appreciate your kind words about the lessons. And I would like to give you more perspective and context I guess :) I've always believed in the approach "человеку нужен человек" ("man needs a men" by the way, this is a phrase from Tarkovsky's film "Solaris" that became widely popular in Russia), and that’s why I can’t separate my teaching and content from my own interests and values. This is why I take great pleasure in making videos about history, art, science, and politics as well. And it explains why I do my videos the way I do: in people and myself I value simplicity, humility, and kindness over "always being right". And as @healysn mentioned, I do not support the current Russian government simply because i don't feel it aligned with values and shares my interests at the moment. I also fully understand your point of view and Russia's position in the modern political landscape. I absolutely understand and accept that some people may have completely opposite opinion. For me it is totally fine! Russia is an wonderful place with millions of things to offer! I wish you success in your study of Russian and thank you for being with me on this journey. And would be happy to see you again in the future if you feel like it!
@@healysn Thank you for your kind words :) and wanted to say that you assumed correct - no one is paying me for my opinion :) even youtube doesn't monetize my videos
