Having a puppy is the BEST! but she's just turned 5, so the pup stage doesn't last long (even though we wish it could last forever) but she'll always be a puppy in my heart❤️ i hope you find the perfect puppy ❤️🐶❤️

My father bought a Groenendael when I was about age 6, and had a younger brother and sister. I complained he was biting me. Didn't know he was just keeping inside the boundary. Who set the boundary? The dog. (I'll forego specifics and just say the dog was right.) I watched him at a family celebration a couple of years later. It was outside and there were small children around. He just took up a position and sat there on his haunches. Any kids wandered off, he used his muzzle to gently move them back. By the time I was 9, my parents had moved to a larger property. More property, but no more nipping at me. He just went everywhere I went.
Ahhh sounds like a lovely dog!! ❤️Ours can be nippy at times when they want to play, and definitely have herding tendencies, but I think it's because they are incredibly protective of their humans. They will not leave your side ❤️🐕🦺❤️
Aren't the Groenendaels just the best spirits to have in your life! Miss mine terribly - and Milnerton, Table View, Bloubergstrand, Melkbos, so it was uplifting to see you and the dogs enjoying that wonderful part of the world, especially the beach! Thank you for sharing your joy. Peace.

I have a hybrid malinois and groenendael he is all black short haired. I named him Jet! Jet Black is a very good boy! Another connection I raised a Raven last summer. Some interactions are posted if interested! Your pup is awesome!
Thanks so much! I'm sure if properly trained they would do amazing protection work, but I got them to be running buddies 🐕🦺🏃♀️🐕🦺, and on the streets of South Africa I'd say they pretty effective protectors as no one comes near us when we running towards you😂

Yep, more commonly known as a Belgian Sheepdog. There are 4 seperate breeds under the "Belgian Shepherd" umbrella name. We also had never heard of the breeds until we got them. Amazing doggos!!!
