Alternative title: Simple construction worker talking about network programming, ray tracing and developing a game with a game engine from scratch.
why doesn’t he find a job as a developer?
@@cykes5124 ugh. Am i a brainlet or is it because I'm in my pre-coffee stage of the morning? Wouldn't inflated demand mean that there is a high demand for those jobs therefore many available?
@Anon I disagree... I've done plenty of interviews in the industry and I can tell you that a "capable developer" means different things to different people. Some companies will call you for a interview and even if you pass all their tests they wont hire you because you don't have experience with some obscure framework that they are using. Some companies will call you for a interview and even if you pass all they technical tests they wont hire you because someone in the interview process didn't like you as a person. So does someone not liking your personality mean that you are bad developer?
The most ridiculous interview I ever did was for a C# developer position for a financial institution and they didnt hire me because I didnt have any sales skills... yes you read that correctly, I asked them what I could improve on after the interview and they said they need someone with sales experiece. I was very confused and looked through the job spec about 3 times and sales was nowhere to be found... so by THEIR definition I'm not a "capable" developer because I'm not good at selling!!!🤣🤣🤣
Some developers I've worked with didn't know how ajax works in web development... do you consider them as capable just because they "somehow" managed to get a job?
@@BillClinton228 that's sad man, this is really unfair gl

Welcome to the real world !!!
Unfair is the name of the game!!!
The vague description of your location as "somewhere in the lake district". The bland, nondescript, industrial estate - the perfect foil for an evil lair. It all makes sense now; you're about to release a herd of evil, rampaging, northern robots on the world. You're an aspirational Bond villain - a "Dr Evil", you didn't spend six years at the university of evil to be called "Mr Evil". Whoa, that x9 at the end of your name?! Forget the T-1000's, you're part of Google's, "X9" series that they built in Area 51 as part of project "Don't be evil" that went horribly wrong. Rise of the Northern Machines - The Northernator Series. A robotic Liam Gallagher issuing an ominous threat after he's smashed up the local pub, "I'll be back, our kid". Oh the humanity, please tell me you're not fulfilling your marital duties by emitting a low amp wang pulse. Is this you in the bedroom?:
czcams.com/video/G8Ifaeff0mA/video.html
You've got what it takes to be a Chaturbate webcam star. Man's a sex symbol - the complete package. Women want him and men want to be like him. I don't know where the man ends and the legend begins. We owe you a cold beer. I'll Paypal a pint over later this weekend.
XD Thanks John - that's quite an imagination lmao
"A robotic Liam Gallagher" - dear God no
A hard hat and a reflective vest - that's an evil henchman uniform. Making videos for youtube is fun, but who can resist having to strap freakin' lasers to freakin' sharks for a living.
Good to see that even in these utterly bananas times the weather in the Lakes looks normal.
lol, yeah - the normality is positively grounding
With how many people got out of job during these times it's good to see you're too busy for CZcams.
You are absolutely right Felix, I'm incredibly fortunate in such a terrible year.
@@javidx9 I wonder if anyone else read your humble reply in your accent lol
@@kurtm54 Holy shit, I do. I guess it's normal psychological stuff. Fascinating nonetheless.
@@javidx9 what do you work as ?
@@kurtm54 I read every comment in his accent. It's like ghosting effect that happens to me everytime I watch a different accent.
I remember someone saying you're the Bob Ross of programming. That's the most accurate description I've ever seen for what you're doing on the channel!
Well as a Bob Ross viewer in my younger days, that's a very pleasant complement!
That might have been me! I am totally brilliant, and part of my brilliance manifests itself in my ability to see connections like Javid being the equivalent of Bob Ross. However, I did notice that a few other of Javid's fans have made the same connection, so I cannot claim to be the originator of this. In any case, Bob Ross is such an affable chap, isn't he? His videos make us forget the troubles that we routinely hear in the news and in the world.
@@Tom-hc1ql Ha ha ha ha! I had to use some serious ingenuity to find the "happy little accidents" in my compute shader just recently. It is computing 1-bit lightmaps. I needed 1 1/2 days to find several little accidents. I was not happy about how long that took.
Your happy little accidents seem to be a bit happier than mine!
@@GregoryTheGr8ster You saw this connection really brilliantly
Javid is without doubt the brainiest car-park attendant I have ever encountered.

Thanks for trying your best to keep giving educational content even though the world’s going a bit wonky. Cheers, javidx9, and love your commitment :)
Thanks Raw Peach - wonky is such a perfect description XD
Thank you for devoting time to these videos. Really enjoy watching them and learning from them! Thank you!
Thank you for putting the time to teach us projects while you have a full time job! Best and one of the most dedicated CZcamsrs out there!
You are one of the smartest youtubers I know.
Having you stop making videos would be the equivalant of a library burning in the middle ages.
lol thanks Uur - but Ive no intention of stopping just yet!
Your hard work and discipline and planning and energy into everything you do for us is so inspiring so thank you so much and we understand that these times have been very hard on all of us so you take care too!
Thanks Kabir, yeah I hope 2021 is more normal...
Thank you so much to what you are doing! You are the reason why a lot of juniors dives into passion and graphics.
My pleasure Antoine!
This is great! It looks like a real world outdoor video clip. I must say OLC pixelengine has come a long way and its great. Look at the rain drops or javidx9 beard - you can see nearly every hair - awesome resolution. The motion is nearly life like without stutter - awesome simulation. All in all one could think javidx9 really went outside. Pixelengine rulez!
I love your videos! From the Networking series to the 3d Game Engine series and everything in-between that I haven't watched yet. Can't wait to see what you have in store for us! You honestly have the *_BEST APPLIED PROGRAMMING CHANNEL_* and content paired with comprehensible explanations of what is going on during development. Seriously. You're second to none. 🥇🙌🏼
I always wondered where you worked. Good luck man! I hope you can have some time for youtube and for yourself too
One of the most helpful youtube channels for programming I've found so far.
Thank you.
Just started watching this channel, and it's great! Thank you very much for sharing all the knowledge.
This channel helped me learn so much stuff, especially the graphics engine series, i love your method of explanation, very impressive indeed
Your network series is aweosme so far (the others too of course) I watch all of your videos, even if I don't need the specific topic, just because you are awesome and it's never bad to see/learn something new. You could save part 4 of the networking series for december and upload it on christmas as a present ;)
Thats really nice of you to say R1PFake, lol at this rate, thats how it may be....
thanks for the update! looking forward to watching the new content. wishing you the best!
Thanks Homework5!
So glad to see that your channel is growing!! I first found you in my 3rd year of college when i was making my first game :)
Hello Javid - found your channel here by accident - i am pretty impressed about the stuff you published on YT. Thank you very much for sharing your capabilities - by the way - the math you are explaining in your videos is the most interesting part for me ^^ Wish you a good time :-)
Hey, loads of respect for even being able to balance the two; especially given how good the content is (it's helped me countless times if I'm being honest).
Thanks 190x2! Im pleased youve found some of it useful!
Very cool. You don't understand how many of us there are out here that are grateful the tutorials you create. You, sir, are the practical bridge between intermediate to advanced level programming and I'd love to achieve a career similar to yours someday.
The lakes are beautiful... well exccept for the general British weather. Take care fella, just started watching so I have much to catch up on, but looking forward to your future videos. Much love from the North East.
Absolutely love your educational videos, I don’t mind waiting at all as long we get them eventually :) as they are some of the best free educational videos on literally all of the internet.
Thanks for the update brother! All the best and take care!
Great to see you with a hard hat on a rainy day and still having a big smile on your face. Keep up the great work you are doing; your videos are awesome.
lol thanks Richard - when I see the world around me at the moment, working in the rain aint so bad XD
Thanks a ton for your videos, you legend! Certainly helped me through boredom and incomprehension alike.
I wish you all the best in getting unscathed through this utter clusterfudge that is 2020.

lol Adam, i learned a new word today XD
@@javidx9 Haha, glad I could teach you something in return ;)
thanks for the update, i appreciate it. it is nice to know you are doing well in this crazy time... there are worse things than attending your full-time-job.
Hey Javid, just wanted to say that your videos have inspired me to make a compiler.
I'm building it in plain C++, don't worry, the language I have invented is very simple and so is the output format, according to my calculations, this will only take about 10 headbangs to the keyboard, which is a relatively low amount.
Thanks for all the amazing videos so far, looking forwards for the new ones! Don't worry and take your time!
Thanks Dejvoss!
Thank you for the many years of great tutorials!
Love from Spain
Hey, love from Brazil. Your videos encourage me to learn more and more about coding and programming.
good luck! wishing you the best
Thank you!
Your videos made me go back to C ++ programming and 3D graphics. Thank you very much.
That's good to hear BoGu!
Hello LoneCoder, been watching most of your your videos on about everything. I don't program C++ mainly but always enjoy watching your videos for entertainment and (expanding) knowledge purposes. I'm eagerly waiting for the next one! By the way, I never knew you worked in (industrial?) robotics, if you don't mind I'd love to hear about it in some more detail (without being to descriptive in terms of privacy reasons obviously). I mainly got into programming as a kid due to my dad being an electric and mechanic technician who also happen to work with industrial PLC's etc. in the past. When he brought one home one day with our old 486 133mhz computer I was immediately sold and knew what I wanted to do! That's right! Making the computer do a beep boop doobadoop beep!
You're awesome and your work is fantastic! Thank you for all the knowledge you've shared!
My pleasure!
Loads of respect for your hard work
Thanks, err, Prime Minister! XD
I look forward to seeing the new videos! :)
Take your time, always worth the wait!
Truly love this guy. I used to work in a similar setting, designing software that kept track of Siemens machine settings for metal smelting -- used to make car parts and...the Gillette Mach 3 stick.
Judging by some of the comments here, I think a few people dont realise that a lot of perfectly legitimate programming doesnt involve desktop applications, apps or websites.
I am thoroughly enjoying all your wonderful content and the next 4 videos sound great. I was wondering if you have gone over any exception handling or debugging techniques. I see lots of tutorials about programming but hardly any on debugging and the various ways to track down errors. Perhaps that might make a good future video.
200k oh man you've grown
XD scary stuff!
Wish you all the best... thankx
Love your content, even though most are quite advanced for me; it's just pleasing to see you code and explain things and that gives me inspiration. Good luck and best wishes! Btw it's quite the similar day here too in the Sylhet city of Bangladesh... chilly air, rain and cloudy days...
