  • Continuing my mission to transform 2K$ into 10K by end of the year, today we are having a great opportunity to end the challenge right here, right now. Watch and sweat with me as we reach one of the toughest tournaments on GG Poker.

I'd suggest looking at spots facing very big size bets. You are not supposed to call with such a wide range as shown in the video. Vs big bets on rivers we usually want to call only a very small portion of our range

On that river if we are clearing MDF it means we need to put 40BB in a total of 120BB, this means we need to fold 30% of our range there - once we are on the river, we have all the pocket pairs and some flush draws, maybe even straight draws. In this situation we are folding those draws but we keep the pairs, indeed i could have given more thought about the hand, for example that he bet medium into 2 people on a flop he should mostly check, and then triple barrel, this was a clear tell he is not messing around. Problem was i had a tell on him and I played the player instead from a GTO perspective. I am with you though that there are a lot of things i can improve, thank you for the feedback and let me know at which part of the hand you would fold and what was the minimum you would have called?

Don’t get caught in the GTO madness. Remember the only reason why you should study GTO is to learn the theoretical principles of the game so you can EXPLOITATIVELY apply them in game against REAL people.
I think that you should decide on your strategy and study it off tables so you can always have a clear, simple understanding of it so you save your mental energy in game.
MTTs is incredibly high variance so the nr.1 requirement is to put in volume. Also, coming from somebody that quit this format almost 5 years ago I feel like the meta is just crazy aggro and loose so tight is right, especially giving the random factor in the micros.
Keep it simple and good luck!

Thank you for the valuable tip Marius, playing very tight especially when getting closer to the money has proved to be the most valuable strategy.
Indeed GTO is just a mere tool to navigate through the hands, to have a certain idea how people are thinking in different situations, to not feel hopeless. I do agree that I need to work a lot more on my strategy, as for now I feel sometime I change my game quite drastically and I don’t respect some principles I put on myself.
Totally with you, I noticed that it is about the chances you receive, and to maximize this you have to put in the hours.. to which I do not have so much time to do.

You should learn how to fold

Yes I agree, I have a lot of leaks in my game still, I need to be more patient on and off the tables haha
