As a Cherokee National Treasure for his basket weaving, Mike Dart finds inspiration and materials out in nature. He shows us how keeping a peaceful mind can help produce tremendous works of art.
Thank you. I am wanting to use the natural materials in my yard. I live on the plains. Your video caught my eye without my reading glasses.😍 i have blackberry branches without thorns and mulberry branchs and they are piyable ready to weave. I have a weaver of French linen in my background. Watched her make all things for 8 years.
Dr miller, thank you for your comment. You are correct, i am of mixed native with european ancestry as well. However, I was raised in a Cherokee community, around the language and in the culture. There is so much more to being Cherokee than ones skin color. What do you do to contribute to your communities cultural preservation, if I may ask?
Mike your work takes me to a magical time, you are such a talented person. I wish I could learn from you.
