I have a daughter aged 29 years who is a fashion designer, I still tell her dresses which are not pleasing to the eye, she wears whatever she likes in Mumbai but also dresses according to my liking when home not out of compulsion but out of her love and respect for me. Jahnvi's mom has adjusted her thought process amazingly progressively. Hope you got your answer
