Steph Tolev is a stand-up and sketch comedian from Toronto, Canada. Her unique brand of absurd and personal comedy has made her an audience favorite across North America both on stage and on television. As a stand-up, Steph has done the prestigious Just For Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal and featured in a TV Gala as well as being part of the Homegrown competition in 2014. She also taped a TV set for the Halifax Comedy Festival that airs on CBC. She was one of the 42 with her sketch duo Ladystache in the Just For Laughs 42 festival in Toronto. During JFL42 she was also a finalist for Sirius XM Radio’s Next Top Comic competition and featured on Andy Kindler’s Alternative show. She was well-received at the acclaimed Edinburgh Fringe Fest, Bridgetown Comedy Festival, San Fran Sketch Fest, Big Sky Festival, Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver Sketch Fests, as well as North By North East. She’s also opened for Rob Delaney, Eugene Mirman, Brent Morin, Kyle Kinane, Kurt Braunohler, Todd Glass and appeared on the international show “Set List.” She won the award for Best Female Stand-Up at the Canadian Comedy Awards in 2015 and was nominated for her sketch troupe. Her first stand-up album “Hot N’ Hungry” was released this January and hit number one on iTunes and had amazing reviews from both the Comedy Network and Exclaim Magazine. Ladystache also released their first full-length sketch comedy album through iTunes entitled “So Many Wolves” which had rave reviews from the Comedy Network and also hit number one on iTunes.
On TV, Steph’s been featured on Much Music’s “Video on Trial” and MTV’s “Losing it”, and had her own stand-up special on iChannels program “No Kidding”. A celebrated member of the Canadian “Comedy Records” label, she’s performed at numerous colleges and Universities across the country. She is currently living in Los Angles performing all around the city being the grossest Bulgarian in town.

My brother had clubbed feet when he was born too. He was in casts and then had to wear corrective shoes that faced outward and had a bar holding them together. I remember feeling so bad for him.

Getting your jaw broken for surgery is no fucking joke. My wisdom teeth were impacted so bad that I had to have my jaw broken in multiple spots to get them out and I swear I was pulling sharp af shards of bone out of my gums for like two years after. Thank god they were so badly impacted that the surgeon was like there's no way we're doing this without me under anesthesia because I'm sure I wouldn't have been able to go through it without being knocked tf out with nitrous gas before they put the iv in and then a nice iv drip of xanax and propofol 🤣
omg now that i'm further into the podcast- definitely take utis very seriously! i had a uti that turned into a much bigger infection in 2019, thought it was treated & had gone away, in reality it had moved to other organs in my body & long story short, i ended up with gangrene of the gallbladder, multiple abscesses on my spine & liver, and ended up in the ICU for four months fighting for my life. i could be a five hour episode of this podcast lmao as i'm writing this, i'm currently waiting to go to the hospital right now for a colonoscopy, endoscopy, & surgery. i'm only 28 but was born with multiple autoimmune diseases and am just in general very fucked health-wise lol.
46:31 this part is so relatable in my personal life, I too, for some reason, always attracted friends with strange complexes towards me & it wasn’t “jealousy” it was more of what Brittany is saying how they secretly wanted her life. She is such a free spirited person and it is sort of a rare thing to live and be so free.. ppl want that. Unfortunately some bitches need to be close to you, probably in hopes that it rubs off on them? In the end it makes them look shady and exposes who they really are, such as her friend when she told the EMT guy what she did 🙄 i’ve cut out so many dumb hoes for this type of behavior

I had a similar experience to Britt with a UTI that spread to my kidneys. The pain was so bad I could not even walk. The only thing that got me to the hospital was super strong ibuprofen. They gave me iv antibiotics for a few hours and I was fine. I had a uti and I kept taking AZO pills for the pain. Please ladies go get antibiotics whatever you have to do. Don’t take the AZO for long periods of time.
Girl, im trying to get my diagnoses for those symptoms, and Im hoping they finally tell me its POTS, just so I can get some validation. Sorry you have all the shit, lol!
We learned of Steph recently, wish we knew her from the get-go. Thanks to the great circle of comedians, she was introduced to us via a different podcast and we just fell in love with her personality and stand up. By far, this is one of the BEST Steph podcasts, she just keeps KILLING IT!!!!!

i thought my body was fucked but brittany and my brother are taking the cake , they both have POTS , i have multiple cysts in both my kidneys , pcos , endometriosis, anxiety , depression , lyme disease the list goes on. my brother has had 5 brain surgeries, spinal decompression and has 2 vp shunts in his head along with 9 OTHER NUEROLOGIC DISORDERS. i never knew me my brother and brittany have so much in common its truly sad. brittany is my idol and i truly love her!!!!!

I had a UTI with none of the usual symptoms as well all I had was a sharp pain in my side for weeks, ignored it but then it got so bad I had to go to hospital. thought my appendix was dodgy but then they told me it was a UTI that went to my kidneys 🤣
What was the UTI supplement she takes? I can’t find that part again
She used it for Yeast Infections, it's Boric Acid, the brand name is Lady Killer.

A child in leg casts for 3 years and a jaw wired shut for a year and 2 gum grafts. I'm so sorry. I had flesh eating bacteria and lost a chunk of my leg and I'd rather go though that again than anything she's been through.
