- Roran is 15 weeks old and has been showing an interest in our food. He is grabbing at our forks and leaning forward to accept food from a spoon. We decided it would be a good time to start trying to feed him solid food. Today he is trying Cereal and Apples for the first time ever! This will be a continuing series for us with episodes showing his first tastes of various foods.

I love how kitty is being sure you’re doing the right thing. Adorable
Oh my goodness! He did great!!
He's so handsome and independent. Love how he grabbed his bib to clean his mouth. Whst a cutie pie. He's a good eater too.
He did amazingly well, esp for his age!!!! What an advanced little man!
Such a cutie pie 🥧 😍 💕
He is great at eating for the first time. Opens his mouth without you having to ask and not losing very much out of his mouth either for being 15 weeks old.. So cute! Impressive.
My first son started eating cereal at about one month old. I told the doctor he was drinking 8 oz of formula every two hours. Was crazy. He suggested I put some rice cereal in his bottle with the formula to try to fill him up since he was drinking so much. We had to make the hole in the nipple a little larger for the cereal to pass through it. Much easier and neater than feeding him with a spoon at such a young age. He was always a great eater. He slept through the night since the cereal filled him up. Was easier on me, too, since I was giving him a bottle every 2 hours day and night prior to that. Was doctor's advice to use the bottle. Worked great. I haven't seen any videos where they use the bottle instead of the spoon. It was 1978 when this happened so guess times have changed. My oldest son is 43 and my youngest son is 42. They grow up so fast.
Yes mine were 3 weeks old with the blessing of my dr...They sleped through the night and were much more happier...I do'nt know who came up with this six months thing but they are so much more active at that age and need solid food...Mine are 53 and 50 years old...
This was a very cute and positive fitst time eating solids. You let her set the pace. I see to many times on here where parents have decided that their baby was going to eat ALL of the food come hell or high water.
Aaron Schumacher, if you happen to see this video, yes I said the thing that you diislke on CZcams that makes you angry, parents who aren't forcing babies to eat. Even if the baby clearly hates it and is gagging, choking, and throwing up. This mom was having a good time with son. It is the RIGHT way to start them earting solids. Any food.

Ooh Love it. Yea Aaron Schumacher, haven’t seen any comments from him lately. You are right, babies do not need to be force-fed. That guy is scary. Feel so bad for his children
Cute little guy and he’s eating so well. Love him.
He is so adorable 🥰
omg .. such a wonderfull cute baby
Finally! I Mom who gets the fact that she doesn't have to scrape her child's lips & chin after every scoop Awesome! D
Agree...I've seen where some mothers wipe 6 or more times before each spoon full and shoving it in their mouths..
Adorable 🥰
I think it's too soon for solids but creamy textures are fine. Even yogurt. As long as its nothing too gaseous for an infant who may develop discomfort constipation
He is so cute. He;s a natural.
I like the cat watching him
Love Love Love! Elise the Kitty in the background!
Solids in scotland is 3 months and up although if the baby is hungry then it can be fed it before :)
There are a few things that you can go by to determine if your baby is ready for solids. If they show an interest in what you are eating and seem to mimic your chewing, they may be ready. You can try to feed them some simple solids at that point and if their mouths accept the food and they dont push it back out, their reflexes are ready to accept food. If you go to Gerber.com they have a solid food readiness quiz that asks questions about your baby's behaviors and it will help you determine
Pushing the food out does NOT mean he doesn't like it or won't accept it. He's used to bottle or breast and both require using his tongue in a different manner than the norm when eating from a utensil.
Cutie Patootie 💙
That's my boy!
He's ready.
So cute 😍
Good boyi❤❤❤
They are so adorable trying to work their tongue they just not sure what to do with it

Did the kitty not get any???
An Irish name per chance, mom. ???....
Nice cute bang baby nyo
His body is not ready to digest solids until he's around 6 months old. 15 weeks is too early imo.
That's what they used to think. But pediatricians have found that babies who get solids at 3-4 months have fewer allergies and sicknesses, and they do just fine. But you're right, they did used to think that.
My son was born in 1966
He was cup fed milk
(doctor's orders)
Then at 3months it was advised to feed him baby cereal (again doctor's advice)
I didn't have trouble with foods that I gave him, he ate everything.
Every child has different needs, there is no wrong or right time.
Obviously you are not going to give your child a fry up, or curries. But good wholesome foods, are gradually introduced.
