Wow Daniel, I remember watching your first videos. It's great to see you progress, to fulfill your dreams. I'm on an off grid homestead in central British Columbia on a 50 mi. long lake. At 71 I'm living the dream. If I were younger I would consider Russia, Canada sadly is more reminiscent of the old Soviet Union days. They seem to work hard to make up new laws to lock people up here. I'm chuckling to my self as I write this, I would like to move to Russia to gain some more freedom. I grew up in times of saying "better dead than red". Now look at us, oh how times have changed. Be safe my friend, hug your lady and enjoy.
My friend, I can’t thank you enough for supporting this channel for as long as you have listen on the next episode you’re going to see our plot of land with our project home. I can’t wait to share it.
Hi Daniel. Oh it was great to see you by the lake! Horseshoe lake is beautiful and that reflection of birch trees is something I love to see too, it is also sort of a symbol of Russian nature. As kids we would watch lots of movies from Russia and Siberia and birches were everywhere. I was by "my" lake today, it was raining heavily but with a raincoat I was fine..saw a fishermen and ask him if he was going to eat the fish he catches and he looked at me and said. No, I just catch and release. You know I ask different fishermen when I am out about here in PA, USA and none so far told me he would take fish home and make a meal out of it. Czech republic has got some of those deadly swamps and you are right, it would swallow you under, so I agree..it is some adrenaline experience, be careful. Glad for you all is working out, having that lot and house is a blessing. Regarding that paranoia of this place, I agree, and you see it in parts of population too, not only politicians. Politics of USA do bother me and I try to keep myself protected from it , focus on going to the nature that is by the way very beautiful here too, lots of mountains, forests and lakes full of fish, but in the city where I am close by you will find tent areas just like you showed. Regards to you and Ksenia. Jana
I truly feel that here those sorts of things like the U.S. politics will not reach its really ridiculous. In my next video I will show our plot and project hour so people know where they have a home if they ever want to visit baikal. Yes in general I catch and release all to see the health of the lake and the fish. Hi Dan! Watching you from Greece. Happy to see you happy there. I hope you will enjoy the peace you've found. I think that this "they are out to get us" is a European thing that the US inherited. Quite an old story to basically justify an occupation or a colonization. Currently, we, Greece, are infected with the Woke syndrome, but we try to fight it. It's not easy since the Dollar, printing uncontrollably, can still buy any corrupt politician. But it seems that it is in decline since a great many understood the rotten nature of it. Many here feel that Russia currently is fighting for them too and no matter what the Greek government wants, we stand by Russia. Great content, wish you and Ksenia all the best!

I have been in mosquito swarms in beaver meadows in northern Michigan, in boreal wetlands in Canada, and near Alaska’s Yukon River. Western Siberia has more. On calm and sultry evenings as we busied ourselves around the camp, mosquitoes came at us as if shot from a fire hose. Usually mosquitoes cluster in a cloud around their targets, but as Volodya made dinner I observed a thick and proximate cloud surrounding him head to toe, and then a whole other sort of candidate swarm around that inner swarm, and then more in all directions, minutely enlivening the sky. With such astronomical numbers, Siberian mosquitoes have learned to diversify.

Yes Altai is next door to us, I think it’s beautiful but for me baikal is everything
My cousin's late mother was from Altai. She traced her family back to the early 1700s. My cousin's father ( my uncle) was my late mother's younger brother. We are Swedish-Russians, a German nobility family.

I moved to Bulgaria in my late 50s. Had enough of 30 yrs of a bad marraige. It was difficult, different culture, different language. I did have a Bulgarian GF, now my partner. Her family have a confectionary business here. At 64 yrs old they taught me how to make chocolate. Sent me on courses, including to Belgium. 73 yrs old now, still making chocolate for the company, still learning new things. You're never to old to start afresh, never to old to learn new things. You have a fantastic positive attitude and a wonderful woman by your side. Your future is very rosy!!

@alexbayer2365
Best wishes Daniel❤ yes fishing is relaxing.

Hey Daniel! Thanks for your videos! I've watched almost all of them, and I have to say, your English is the perfect type of English for someone like me, who is just trying to learn it. The way you spell words, your accent, the way you construct sentences, it's all amazing. I mean, it's absolutely understandable. Generally, in the community of English-speaking bloggers who make videos about Russia, you're a diamond. I don't want to blame others, but I really enjoy every second of your videos!

Here you have solid ground under your feet - tradition and infinity
I take only 2 pike a year for ksenia 🤣 I know how to fish incase we ever need food but we shouldn’t have issues in the foreseeable future thanks for writing it’s always a pleasure to read your thoughts 🙏🏻

Nice pike, good eating size.
Perch are one of the best tasting freshwater fish, you should try them sometime.
Maybe you could do a catch and cook.
I’ve caught plenty but I usually don’t eat fish until the end of summer I’ll take 2 pike and 3-5 perch a year. I’m a good fishermen I must let them go so they can grow since the Russians overfish tbh
