    What are the power and spin numbers? Twist numbers?

      We appreciate the question regarding the power, spin, and twistweight numbers relating to the newer Wilson paddles. Below is a thread leading to our Total Pickleball Learning Center, which features some interactive tools for precisely what you are looking for:

      That said, the Blaze and Tempo paddles have not yet been evaluated to determine those aspects. Within the next 2 weeks, that information should be available, via the above link. My personal assessment is that although the Blaze Tour 16 is the only one of the bunch paired with a full raw carbon surface, the others with a carbon dominate/ fiberglass hybrid surface feel just about equal in terms of easily producing spin on the ball. In addition, adding fiberglass to the surface of a paddle typically increases power, but the Tempo, and all the other Blaze paddles felt more control oriented, like the Blaze Tour 16. Being that the Tempo's are wider than they are longer, I would expect for a more substantial twistweight figure, compared to the longer/narrower Blaze models.
      Cheers,

      @@pickleballwarehouse it’s been over a month. When are you getting the information about the paddles that everyone has been requesting?

    I play with the Wilson Blade, IYKYK… my favorite. Now i occasionally play pickleball, i have no idea what’s Joola etc etc brands. I was surprised Wilson hasn’t came up with top notch paddles yet… Hopefully these are.

      Hi Derrick,
      And thanks for the feedback on the fact that you are pretty anchored in tennis, use the Blade (98?), and are now dabbling in pickleball. I'm a life long tennis player, have been playing pickleball since the late 1980's, and prefer racquets like the Blade over more modern, stiffer frames like a Pure Drive. If your taste in pickleball paddles is anything like tennis racquets, then we can point you in the direction of some medium powered paddles. I kind of feel the Blade 98's offer mass based power and stability, but do not overly exploit the frame stiffness thing, for an aluminum bat degree of energy return to the ball. The aspect of a paddle that makes it poppy, like a Pure Drive, is the core material and thickness. The Head Radical Raws, Six Zero Double Black Diamond, Volair Mach 1 Forza, SLK Halo-Halo XL/ Perris Todd version, Master Athletic P3/P3 XL, Holbrook Mav Pro/ Power Pro, and CRBN 1's are kind of "Blade" like. As far as the new Wilson Blaze, and Tempo paddles, they are far superior to prior Wilson pickleball paddles, but I feel they still have a little ways to go, so to speak. I hope the details help, and bye for now.
      Cheers,
      Mark/TP

    If you like the 16" core, what makes you opt for the Wilson Blaze Pro 13 instead of the Wilson Blaze Tour 16?

      The 13 has a hybrid face of Raw carbon and fiberglass whereas the Tour 16 is just raw carbon. The one im playing with currently.

    What’s the swing weight of blaze tour 16

    • @pickleballwarehouse
      @pickleballwarehouse  Před 6 měsíci

      Ahh, the all important and somewhat elusive swing weight (inertia) measurement. Good question! In short, the example of the Blaze Tour 16 we tested rates out at 91. The longer, more complete answer is that we are using a new Head Paddle Diagnostic machine, and have since discovered a calibration issue. So although the readings are pretty consistent, we are not yet as confident in terms of its accuracy. This needs to be and will get worked out, as we are excited to include swing weight averages in our paddle descriptions, and other on site content. We feel it is one of the most definitive aspects of your paddle's performance, and due to variation at the factory, and in the devices which measure swing weight, we are not letting the cat out of the box (so to speak) until it is accurate.
