I’m from VA but living in Charlotte NC. I LOVE Charlotte but I’m a nurse trying to break into the Healthcare Tech side of things and I’m finding it difficult so the DMV may be my next move. Thanks for sharing!

So funny that you guys left NC when I just discovered your NC videos as I’m researching where to go from nyc. I can’t wait to hear more about Arlington. I went to Towson U. back in the 90s, so I’m still familiar with the DMV but find it expensive now.
I also lived in south Miami for school (U of Miami) and I must say, that I-95 traffic was worse to me then nyc traffic.

Lived in DC and MD. Least favorite of my life. Crime, expensive and that East cost attitude. Glad I left.

NC was good to us. But it is “different”. We think it is a beautiful place with lots of opportunity.

I grew in NC and graduated from college in Raleigh. That was a couple decades ago and the whole Raleigh-Cary area has grown so much. Sometimes I think too much but I know the area is competing with other similar cities and metro areas for companies and investors and just that reputation of having it all lifestyle. It’s more expensive now too than back in the 90’s and I do think it has progressed as more than just a traditional southern city. I haven’t lived there since graduating but do like to visit.
It’s really grown. And you are spot on about not really that different from others southern towns.
Raleigh-Durham North Carolina area...is where I was thinking but don't know for sure

I just subscribed. I just happened upon your video about North Carolina. I've been doing some research and contemplating where to move next. I've been in Idaho for 3 years and can't wait to move. So tired of the cold and the dry air here plus hard water. I've lived in California, Las Vegas, Texas, Rhode Island, St Thomas and Idaho. Just looking for something different. I thought about some of the same areas that you guys talked about like Atlanta, Raleigh, Orlando, Savannah and many more but still not sure. I even considered the DMV area but after this crazy cold 3 years here was just looking for that warm beach atmosphere. I just want to thank you for your videos. Really gives me so much to think about. I'm thinking I should give more thought about the DMV area now. Again thanks so much!
It only cold for to months. January and February. We are beginning to thaw already! You have lived so many places! DC has the vibe of a little European city, we think that’s what sets it apart. Warm weather is the best but don’t forget about opportunity. If you can live anywhere and still have your income, warmer weather gets the vote. Thanks for watching!

Oh wow, was waiting for this video. Lived in Atlanta and yes the traffic & the deadly car crashes everyday made me run. The Hubbie and I was actually thinking of the suburbs of Richmond VA area.
Richmond is poppin right now. Great homes and space. It’s a good mix of small town and city. Also only a couple of hours from DC.

Can't believe after what you said about Atlanta traffic that you chose DC. Visited a friend last December on my way from the Research Triangle to Michigan. OK, I made a detour to see her. Holy cow! Getting out of DC AFTER morning rush hour was a huge traffic mess. Wow. How are you doing it?
Great point! We have been traveling back and forth to DC for over 8 years since ours daughters go to school here. We KNOW you have to leave DC a BEFORE 6AM no later than 6:30am when heading south. Also we only follow our phone map instructions when getting around town. It’s the only way since it helps you steer clear of traffic. In the ATL there are only a few way to get places so if you have to go 285 or 75/85. You are stuck! Not the case in the DMV. We are loving it!

I was just talking to my wife today about moving to Charlotte, she wasn't having it she wanted to move back to Maryland, so I went to your channel to help with my argument for NC, and you guys moved to the DMV, lol. Thats cool, I'm from Baltimore, been wanting to go back to the DMV also.
Love it here! If you decide on NC we prefer the Raleigh area to Charlotte for living. You can always visit Charlotte.
I currently live in Baltimore and while MD is my home, I am definitely thinking about moving to another state. I love and hate MD at the same time.

I work in tech in the Research Triangle - Raleigh-Durham - all of my managers were women, 2 black and another from India.
Not seeing a lot of white men at the top level of companies anymore Google, Microsoft, IBM etc....I'lll be moving to DMV shortly myself.

Not true, the only time you see alligator and snakes is if you go looking for them and fl have had a major hurricane in years. With Florida it’s the high cost of living rental , low wages and humidity
