This game looks great. After some of the work stress I have had this year I could do with just sitting and playing something fun and simple like this.

Your observation about how the overworld feels familiar to SMW is really all I wanted to hear. Secret levels, multiple exits, hidden paths... THAT's what I want from a 2D Mario game
Those things never went away in the first place
@@callinater6133 I don't remember any courses in NSMB that had a hidden exit that led to an alternative path and even a secret star world.

I really hope they release a demo at some point, which I feel may happen with a very slim chance due to the demo you guys are playing, although I know that’s like a diffrent build for conventions I’m still gonna have hope.
I feel people don't appreciate the amount of time since the last 2d game, the gap between pikmin 3 and 4 was shorter!
Only if you don’t count the Makers.
I doubt it will but I hope it includes an option for player collision in co-op. Part of the fun of co-op was throwing my sister and grandmother off ledges 😂

Honestly this is looking SO good, I'm loving the colours, everything looks so bright and crisp, even the backgrounds are great. It's looking a lot of fun to play. I'm curious about the soundtrack but that experience will come later on I guess. It's awesome you got to experience this earlier (and great for us that got to see it and your impressions!).
I like the fact you can go anywhere in the map (not to the end, of course), too, then I can play to my mood or to take a break from levels I'm "stuck" on!
I love all the colours and flare.

I for some reason feel this game is going to have so much dynamic music.. not the generic new super Mario brothers games where is was the same song the whole course.
Maybe we get a Demo in the normal September direct

Haha, I think you may have answered your own question by calling them “fine.” I don’t think anyone thinks they were bad games, but after the first couple in the series they just felt kind of repetitive. The complaints don’t really stem so much from the overall quality of the games as they do from the need for some innovation and creativity in mainline 2D Mario games.
did you come in contact with any more powerups that weren't in the direct? I hope those aren't the only ones in the game

Not at all. That’s always possible, of course, but “demo” in this case literally refers to the PAX West demo we were playing!

Is it just me or do the courses seem a bit shorter on average than past games like the NSMB series? I could be wrong but I hope theyre not too short, so the designers can actually pace themselves on hiding the 10 coins and other secrets, making them feel more special.

What’s wrong with building on NSMB with a different style just like Mario World did with the previous ones?
@@skydiamsteam6005 I think the reason i feel this way is because we had too many New Super Mario games in quick succession (it looks fun don't get me wrong but i just don't want it to feel like more of the same, i got burned out back then)

Considering the concept behind the Wonder Flowers and just how insane things get from those alone, I'd say we're pretty far out from the NSMB series.
