'Chigwaya' is an essential Mbira song, especially for Sadaka ceremonies, where we give thanks to water spirits such as Njuzu, Jukwa etc. Part of the word "Chigwaya" translate to ' the bream (fish) is dancing in its road'...... this is a metaphor celebrating that someone's life and plans are being blessed as a result of their connection to their spiritual life, things are working out.
