I love episodes like this. Giillespie being both a hunter and a talented chef really brings a lot to the table, literally and figuratively... 🙌
The passion @ the end about the kitchen and carrying through was great.
Couldn't have summed it up any better
Love the chefs enthusiasm and excitement
Same
Steve got so offended that Kevin thought he'd have a jar of pork lard in his house lmao
after literally said yeah I have pork fat someone sent not 15 seconds earlier
Bear lard is more Steve’s jam.
I Love Kevin as a part of Meateater. This kind of content brings the hunt full circle, true to their name. His presence really elevates the quality of a cooking special!
“I don’t apologize for frying shit “ 😂 everyone in the south every day
Indeed!!!! not sure i know any other way to cook!
Steve, man…..you’re knockin’ it outta da park with these series.
Could watch Steve and Kevin cook and talk for hours, really hope we get more vids like this. And Kevin was so damn right about learning the value of wild game! Love his passion and energy
MEAT EATER!!!!!! The best Channel CZcams Congratulation I'm a super fan of the channel
When Steve shoots a video at his house, his hairs fucked up and he just doesn’t give a damn lol
That’s the exact same thing I said 😂😂
He should shave his head. More aerodynamic and no more messy hair
@@MikeGuadango yes more efficient for hiking
He always looks like he just woke up lol.
Something is wrong. I don’t know what.
I’m starting to understand what Gillespie stated near the end of the video. Wild game is the pinnacle. How fortunate are we to harvest and eat such awesome, different, and a variety of meat that a majority will never try or get the opportunity to try. God bless hunters.
Steven looks like he just rolled out of bed and decided to make this episode with Kevin 😂 I love how casual Steven is the whole time
“Mystery grease”, love it! 😘🤌🏻
That chef was made for this job. Enthused, upbeat and loves what he does.
What makes this episode is Chef Gillespie’s passion for the food. Hell yeah, man! Don’t make the food pedestrian; make it something special, because it is something special!
Steve looks like he forgot they were shooting this and he just woke up lol
he always looks like that at home and i completely respect it. its about the food not how he looks.
I just love this channel. I enjoy watching the hunt, the camp cooking, the kitchen time the talking about hunting ethics and opportunity lost and respect given to the animals. I’m no savage hunter but I am thankful for every opportunity to enjoy nature and enjoy the fruits of its labor and feeding my family from nature. Thank you Steve for showing the world what so many hunters are truly about.
My dude actually impressed me with that Torta. Using the beans as a spread, he’s been places. ✊🏽 I would drizzle some Mexican Crema and good salsa over it. Also squeeze lime/lemon juice for a little more razzle dazzle. 🤝
I'm a 1st generation American. My family is from central Mexico. They taught me how to cook traditional meals from cous deer and javelin. This recipe looks great. I'll be moving to Colorado soon and mountain goat is definitely on my list of game to pursue
Just been binge watching the new season of Meat Eater on Netflix, and the goat episode was the last one I watched, then boom, you drop this video!
Agreed! Wild game cooking is underappreciated in the US. Loved the video and cooking techniques!
Dudes first question was the first thing on my mind watching this video, “do you picture how your going to prepare it” so on point 😂🤙
We need a lot more Meat Eater episodes with this chef!
i need to see some footage of Steve hunting swans! its one of my favorite hunts
Top Chef Turned Meat Eater crew, such great stuff. Really love this! Great work gentlemen
Always learn something new from these cooking shows. Chef Kevin is good at explaining the techniques.
Good one Steve...you always instruct, and entertain!
Best part about the cooking episodes is that Steve has just gotten outa bed and has no filter
Yet another reason why you guys are the best at what you do. Quality content that stirs interest and creativity among those that get to consume it. Absolutely love everything that these guys put out.
Kevin is one of my most favorite chefs. His philosophy on food and his style of cooking is amazing. Glad he is part of the Meateater team
Wow no one cares
That was a great episode! I've seen some recipes on Meateater, but this makes me want to try new things!
Need more vids like this with guest Chefs. More vids with Kevin!
Chef said it best. Having a chance to be creative and have a delicious meal. Hunting is fun and challenging. Getting in the kitchen and cooking game meats is the best. Steve R is the current trend setter. Best cook series, best show, and DIY hunts. Most importantly, showing ppl all of the animal is useful.
I’m going to have to try this!!
I absolutely love refried beans and have never thought to use them as “mayo” before….such a great idea.
He’s right nothing feels better than hunting and bringing it to the table for friends and family , providing with your own skills .Great vid meat eater love it 👍👍
Meat eater at lunch break👍 Thanks guys
Hell yeah! Another Meateater series that's cooking related, you love you see it.
Those final sentiments are truly inspirational. I love you guys!
Steve is good shows. It's great watching and listening to him.
What are the odds you make MeatEater Cooks it’s own standing weekly or twice weekly show? I really enjoy watching you cook recipes, especially ungulates. I think this would be an awesome addition to your portfolio/ lineup.
That closing! Preach brother!
German American festival here always has schnitzel sandwiches. They are Incredibly good. Also they're a big sandwich! Lol
this guy is like a food preacher, Praise the wild meat
Enjoy watching the chefs, looking forward to more
Looks absolutely great! Awesome video fellas!
Love this guy. Great addition to the brand! Excited about the new show!
I think this is my favorite episode you have put out, you should bring this guy back again and again.
Love this! Watching in the background as I’m vac-sealing my mallards from the slough this morning.
The cooking segments are my favorite!
Definitely justice to that goat. Looks delicious!! Love the new season on Netflix BTW
Good program, lots of passion from chef.
Have Kevin back all the time!
As a Chef that looks absolutely delicious my friend & your right don't ever be ashamed about frying up a piece of meat.👌
I really enjoyed this video. I am glad to see that I am not the only one that cooks with grease. I like to use several methods to cook, but for a quick meal frying not only tastes great but if you are an active person you will work it out or sweat it out before it harms your body. I like that not only is your meat harvested for food, but you also have a garden with all kinds of veg. which keeps your meal organic.
I feel like Kevin's rant about appreciating their kill by cooking it better was not planned, but he was going off and everyone let it happen. I'm here for it!
Trapped for 17 days in a snowstorm living off of mountain goat. That’s a story of a lifetime right there.
Great episode, yes when I'm hunting I do think of recipes and different things to try, one of the best thing I cooked was some pheasant sausage that I found at the bottom of the freezer about a year later. Ground it up with herbs from the garden and a couple spicy peppers 🌶 sausage turned out get
Looks like Steve has been lifting! Nice!
Also, love this chef! I bet he's a blast to cook with in person.
Preach Gillespie, preach!
As a Mexican whose never had a torta like this I’m making one ASAP
I've learned so much from your show dude love it
Kevin spoke some real powerful words, people see that wrapped stake and think its the best when really the best is the one that was flying just hours ago.
Damn straight no apologies for fryin $@!# ever haha 👍💪❤
I am looking forward to more of these episodes and soaking up all of Cheif Kevins ands Steves knowledge of the kitchen
Looks delicious!!!
As a hunter, butcher and chef, his words are spot on. I have cooked seriously expensive cuts of meat, and they still aren't as good as a backstrap from a whitetail. But whether you hunt or not, if you consume meat, you owe it to the animal and to yourself to be part of the full process. From kill to cook, get involved in your food. You won't regret it.
Love Kevin! Reminds me of Yukon Cornelius
This really inspires the home cook in me. You guys are Gods!
Wild game is priceless brothers.
Gillespie straight pulled out the queso fresco that's right man lol
Great job 👏 love the cooking of the animal. I like the protective . The chef is so right
Good stuff! Much respect.
I'm finally moving to Montana next month, so happy to finally be getting out of CA.
Great work Sir thank you
Where did you find that guy ? Rinella is so entertaining but these two combo should be on food network, straight up GOLD!!!
Loved this!! I’m one of those guilty of loving great food and not doing justice by my hard won meat. I usually end up making plain meals with it. Your food making videos are as exciting for me to watch as the hunting ones. Thank you!!!
final sentiments were great. don't take this gift for granted
Great format. Steve and Kevin have fantastic chemistry and are a hoot to watch in the kitchen together. More of this please, MeatEater!
Now this...this looks good. Well done!
Music was a bit loud in this video but loved it regardless. Can’t wait to see more of Kevin
What a beautiful kitchen.
If anybody is unfamiliar with Kevin, check him out. He's an amazing chef and while I have no idea about him on a personal level, he seems like a crazy nice guy. He's gold. They can have him on every episode as far as I'm concerned. This was money.
That torta looked fantastic.
Gonna try that with white tail liver this winter.
That goat sandwich had to be drop dead delicious
absolutely love this, was hoping for more wild game cooking!!!
He's my go to for game recipes, have you tried his goose pastrami its on point!
"Meat an bread combo"....In Argentina we call it "milanesas", and if you add some fries and two fried eggs on top...that´s heaven.
Love this
Going to your freezer just to revel in the amount of game meat in it is a wonderful thing.
I genuinely do not like half the ingredients in that sandwich - yet I'm sitting here drooling. Kudos to Kevin and Steven on somehow making goose oil and pickled radishes look like a Michelin-level meal.
I like the way your chef is thinking about being creative with wild game.
It’s great how Kevin and Steven casually talk about being stuck in a blizzard for 17 days surviving on mountain goat like it’s no big deal lmao.
Chef spoke mad truth at the end.
"Swan Oil" is something I didn't even know existed..
This guy is the best. More chef G Content.
More of this guy!
I've done a similar method to his refried beans but with Lima beans and bacon fat. Texture was like good mashed potatoes. 10/10 would eat again.
Mystery grease! I Love it!
Amen brother....yes
So well sead mate 👏
Can’t believe I haven’t gotten any notifications for this or Das Boat!!
I love the passion Kevin has. If more people had that wild game wouldn't be as offensive to the masses.
