Thanks so much and, just one question:
A lot of Europeans and Americans who have moved to Ecuador, are talking about altitude sickness!?
I have lived in 5 European countries, including Italy where I lived in the Dolomites at about 2,800 metres and, I never felt any problems with the altitude - didn't even think about it.
Is there any special reason so many people get altitude problems in Ecuador!?
If you and all these Westerners hadn't mentioned it, I wouldn't even have given this a thought!?!?

Hello! I think it all depends on where in Ecuador they have decided to settle. Loja, for instance, is located at 2100 meters above sea level. Quito at 2800-3000. Cuenca 2550-2700 meters. Some people have never lived in such high altitudes and that’s why they have problems with it. We had several clients who had to move to Loja or Vilcabamba because they had heart/lung conditions that forced to look for a lower elevation.
Each case is different but I’m certain most expats have no experience dealing with altitude.

PS: Something about this area Loja/Vilcabamba tells me, this will be a place for me and my third life - far away from Europe and, the climate in your area clearly winn over my present climate in Ireland 😊
