Professional connoisseurs use them to preview their routes and to orient between destinations and we, the personal type users, use them to navigate between the points that are not known to us, and in the big cities we are useful to use the most route. efficiency by using the live traffic function. I do not think so mate as Tom Tom is targeting a customer base mostly made of professional drivers.

Statistics for the current and traveled route, for example to see later which routes you have traveled and where you have been. Driving time Traffic jams, avoided, Distance traveled, Average speed, Maximum speed.

Waze can be a little worse then Google maps and tomtom, when navigating in detail like turning it doesn't show detail or close up. So may miss turning, it can be confusing for many people comparing to tom tom and Google.

I would guess there would be a "share route" option. please let me know if you found it as it is interesting.
Just wondered, but does this app have the ability for us to show where cops are or things like car on the side of the road? That's what makes Waze great. I didn't see that option & even Google Maps has that limited feature.

Looks good so I don't need an internet connection right I don't have to pay for a internet connection on top of this tom tom app yearly cost because if I do then what's the point in spending more money for something that I get free with google

That is a good question. On g maps you can do it.
Hello. I have just downloaded Tim Tom Go. Two problems. How do you just stop guidance during a journey? Also I can get voice guidance through my car speakers ONLY if my car unit it on Media. If I have the radio on I donât get any voice guidance ! Can you help please .
Hello jspope2008. We haven't tried the voice guidance much to be honest and when it was active, it was indeed connected to the car unit directly so I guest that might be it.

Great and useful thankyou, think iâm going to pay for this one, 25yrs doing deliveries in plymouth, i know all the short cuts ect and certian apps, apple maps, google ect tell me to do u turns ect where its not possible ect, and yet the route i would take, this one wants to take me that way as well, 1st one ever that thinks how i think to get to certian places in plymouth , i have it set to fasest route and it mucking about with it 10/10 so far for picking routes i would knowing the roads as i do, i think its totally worth paying the ÂŁ12.99 for it, not much at all is it
if the app works the way you like it then it's just great. A product is as useful as the user can use it accordingly to its needs. all the best!
How can you create route which has start from one address make a loop add a few stops comeback to same address and stop in the same exact starting point
that is a very good question and we are going to check that for you and upload a video in the next following days mate.
This is for driving test preparation practice route but I can see delivery guys etc. needing to do same.
Add another way point as final destination (same as your location) next to your location

there is a massive difference as the dedicaed TomTom GPS Navigators are mostly for professional drivers
I think it works great , looks very nice if you have apple CarPlay in your car as good as the top tomtom unit
i have recently ditched my tomtom sat nav as it is 6 yrs old and started to really lag. i am using the tomtom app on my phone and its much better. it costs 12.99eur a year and works great, better than their own satnav ever did.

Yes. It has a truck navigation subscription for ÂŁ48 a year. Gives you both car and truck navigation.
This is why this app is only worth it for truck drivers. Car drivers can use Waze or Google maps for free anyway.

Yes, but you will have no traffic information or live camera/radar. You will still have offline maps and offline static speed cameras. It is the best app available at this moment.

Yes it is but not all the features are available particularly the timeline, if using apple carplay Waze is currently a better option at least until Tom Tom update the CarPlay interface.

@metallion yep that's the only downside. However you need a signal to to get live traffic updates for example traffic hold ups.
So although offline maps are good. It could take you to say an accident and roads blocked so your stuck in traffic for hours. I've used waze for years never had a problem yet. What navigation app do you use?
@@Steve200300 I had a dedicated tomtom go for years (still have it, never had a problem with it), quite old and sluggish now, that's why I'm here trying to see if the app is as good as sat nav. Waze is good, but I like tomtom more as its voice, Serena, accompanied me for years on my holidays and now even if I know I'm on my way to work, it gives the impression and feelings of holiday đ
Google maps disappointed me many times, always tells me about heavy traffic after, always after, I get stuck in it highlighting that I'm still on my fastest route, I hate it. So yeah...

Haha, not really. The other day I couldn't turn left as the road was closed by police and Google maps had no idea, so I kept driving straight and for the next 4 or 5 miles it kept asking me to turn around when possible. This is the reason I'm here looking for a better alternative
How do you drive a car and make a video on TomTom??? That's gotta be UNSAFE.
There is plenty of ways to do it. First, the guy is only driving and someone else is recording. Second, there is a screen record also and the videos are merged together
Thank you for your ansper Maps and Navigation. it is indeed as you said. driver is not filming (holding the camera) just speaking and using the navigation as you would normally do anyway.
PS: Keep in mind, now, by the new legislation you can use any device whistl driving. need to change stuff, stop the car, make changes, drive. or you can use google maps (can connect to car's media unit) and use voice commands.

That's sad man their lane assistant was the best and their traffic Info/ speed camera's probably too maybe Garmin does a better job at that idk.

@@12rsz Nothing, they destroyed the app, used to really update maps nicely, even though it took a long time. No idea if they went out of business or just shut down customer service
@@aakar88 It's Really sad ye, they probably have to bcuz they cannot afford to make more loss on their business and Probably Google maps is the biggest reason they got at this point where they standing at Right as of now.
to be frankly honest with you guys, I switched back to google maps for 2 reasons:
1 it does have the speed limit and most of times still works: Please be aware to always keep an eye on road signs.
2 it is integrated with CarPplay so I can use the media/navigation on my car and is quite easy to use, I can swap between music and the navigation and all that. I just found it more convenient, over all.
We are thinking about preparing a video with Goodle maps on carplay if you guys might be interested.
