15 SHOTS, 15 GREENHEADS over Shallow Ice Hole!!! (PERFECT DUCK HUNT)

- For waterfowlers as captivated by those green headed creatures as we are, the perfect duck hunt would probably look a lot like what we experienced with 307 Fowl Play Outfitters. Curt mentioned he had a new spot he wanted to try- a 40x40 yard overflow “pond” about 8” deep sitting just off a tiny warm water slough. At 17° this morning, half of the shallow backwater was frozen, but there was obvious sign birds had been in here thick. As shooting light approached, we were covered with mallards anxious to sit down with our dozen F1 floaters. We knew we didn’t have much time because we had to catch an early flight home, but we decided to go for the perfect hunt anyway. We took turns picking them off at extremely close range and when it was all said and done we had 15 greenheads with as many shots. We are blessed and thankful for the opportunity to experience a lot of incredible hunts, but this one will hold a special place in our minds until the good Lord calls us home. If this was a dream, don’t wake us up.

What camera setup do you use to film. Camera, mounts, mics etc. I want to make content for hunting but don’t know where to start with equipment. Right now I just try to use my GoPro.

I've got a spot like this at home. There is an elevation drop and the river shallows, so the flow is fairly fast and it is the last spot on the river to freeze, and I refer it as "the ripples". You really don't need any decoys if the birds have been using it, and I commonly hunt it with 2 or 3 decoys only , usually done as a close pair and a lone single. Suck them in, and its like shooting tin cans on a fence. Most days its 8 shots and 8 mallards (Manitoba) Fun shoot . Nice to see guys who can actually hit what they are shooting at, take turns, and we don't have to see 8 guns open up on a lone pair sailing over head. The antithesis to "YO YO YO" idiots.
