Gorilla Lope working On His Crest - Ozala, Biddy And Oumbi Grabbing A Snack

- Gorilla Lope is getting as much leek as he can. Collecting it in his upright (bipedal) walk. He throws the bunch of leeks to the ground and starts munching away at them. A close-up of his auburn head crest working hard.
The sagittal crest is a boney ridge at the top of the skull that evolves as male gorillas mature. Jaw muscles are connected to this ridge which helps with greater and more powerful chewing.
A quick look at Lope sucking his thumb. A view of Ozala getting her snacks with her hands and feet, Biddy too getting her snack and lastly, Silverback Oumbi has his hands full, he accidentally drops his food but picks it back up again and goes inside.

Grandma Biddy is aging in color but she stills gets around so well.
It’s wonderful to see the family outside with the weather looking beautiful, birds singing and the green popping up….it’s definitely signs of springtime for the animals and people too.

Hey, Sloggervlogger--I've been enjoying your videos for years, but occasionally find myself wondering how some of these names are properly pronounced. Does Lope rhyme with "rope" or "ropy"? Does Oumbi sound like "oom-bee" or "owm-bee"? Does Shufai rhyme with "shoo-fly"?
Lope is more like Lopay, Shufai is like Shu-fi, Oumbi is oom-bee. Hope that makes sense :-)

I don't think she is. The females are on birth control as they don't have any more space at Twycross.
