    That’s great advice but when I see you pick so fast I really don’t think I could ever get even close to that. However I will definitely check out your site and give it a try. I’m 63 years old so I don’t really know if my fingers are capable of doing that but I’ll definitely try, thank you very much

    Thanks! This explanation and tip is hands down one of the best things I have come across in guitar instruction videos. I'm SO glad I took the "chance" on watching it.

    The handsome devil itself, I missed you on my feed for a long time good to have back on my regular.
    Thank you Claus!

    Following musical notations over the tabs or simply grouping makes the whole process x-time more efficient. The "reading notes score" is even more OP for learning. It's like replicating a picture with partial images instead of text descriptions.

    @guitarmastery there's one speed technique that I really struggle with. Say I'm doing this pattern - d (15th fret b string), b (12th fret b string), a (14th fret g string), b (12th fret b string) over and over as a lick. So d, b, a, b, d, b, a, b etc. When I do that, I really struggle to keep the open g string silent. It's like I'm doing a slight, but audible, pull off from that 'a' on the g string.

    But holy cow. I don't need any more subscriptions, but this video alone is gold.

    Fascinating concept. My style doesn’t include speed shredding.. mostly slower acoustic and Jazz blues, so speed isn’t a problem.. but there are other challenges. And a few times I’ve accidentally jumped a few levels within days without understanding how it was possible.. your video offers plausible explanation.
    More intriguing is wondering what else could be achievable far more quickly if I understood how the brain was processing or holding me back.. where else might similar opportunities be found?
    Maybe other videos from you.. :)
    Thanks for a great training tip! And brain hack!

    It’s like “batching” in computer speak. Instead of a hundred lines of code , you learn to batch a group together in one instruction for the processor.

    Thanks Claus. Often in Heavy Metal the rhythm guitar plays riffs with gouplets of four of the same note, and at light speed (even 16th's at 190bpm). The problem for me seems not really synchronization, as you play the same note, but the control of the picking hand. How to do it clean and smooth? It would be great if you cover this in future.

    Sad to see you haven't developed this information further than what is was 5 years ago... Example: incorporating hammer on pull offs in basic rhythmic licks and with hand sync tips, triplets with sixteenth note sub divisions... Come on bruv

    I think theres a huge misconception in the guitar world. Learning licks and chops. It useless. Of course you shred but still uncapable to create your own stuff. Learning thousands of patterns help you improve you agility but still in terms of creation is limited. In a single word a SCRIPT. the best guitar methods were created 150 years ago. Check Dionisio aguado, fernando sor, matteo carcassi, napeleon coste. People have to learn the harmony and musical context. Playing 1000 notes per minute don't turn your tune into a classic that just an skil and a tooll. The most relevant Is the musical aesthetics. Like a good book or movie. And theres something that many circus trained players neglect.

    Just another dreaded self indulgent shredder, thousands of un-musical notes.
