Shell LEAVES South Africa After 122 Years! (Thanks BEE)

- Shell is leaving South Africa due to a fallout with their BEE partner, which is owned by the ANC.
The BEE partner valued their share in Shell at 4 billion rand and demanded the cash, but Shell refused.
The ANC's greed for dividends and the grift of BEE are causing foreign companies to see South Africa as a risky investment.
The lack of regulatory certainty and policy stability in South Africa is a major concern for businesses.

_The average ANC voter has yet to suffer enough to stop voting for them._
Assuming we can trust the polls, as you guys have also been speculating, it seems a done deal that the ANC will win the next election but will lose their majority. A question you might want to poll your audience with, _what will they do if the ANC forms a EFF/MK coalition?_
In that eventuality, I will be taking my family out of South Africa as fast as I feasibly can, as will any sane person who's a member of the 'wrong' race. We should believe Malema when he tells us how he hates whites and wants to kill them, and a coalition with him will rip the mask off the ANC once and for all. As if we didn't know already.
At that point this country will no longer be South Africa, and its economy (the small part not yet looted or destroyed by the ANC) will equally cease to exist.
Also at that point, the racist ANC voters will discover their jubilation at the prospect of a 'blacks only' country will be _very_ short lived. When they start to cry that there's no jobs, no power, no water, no roads etc, I won't even laugh. I won't care except about a small group of friends still trapped here.
Here's some more fuel to the fire, so to speak. Have you noticed Astron Energy lately which is majority owned by Glencore, which wouldn't you know it, ol cyril has ties to.
Call me crazy here, but just maybe ol cyril is in a way incentivizing Shell to leave, so to make expansion for Astron easier 🤷♂

Shell may actually be correct in stating the BEE partner shares are worthless. If Shell structured the BEE shares by way of loan accounts, meaning Shell issues shares worth $X millions, then Shell would concurrently issue a loan account on their balance sheet that the BEE partner would have to settle in the future.
The BEE partner would earn dividends and have the option of settling the loan account.
If the BEE partner doesn’t settle the loan account, then the loan account will accrue interest and will upon sale of shares be offset against the loan account.
The opportunity for the BEE partner is to facilitate the growth of Shell. If Shell grows then BEE partner earns more dividends and the value of their share increase and hopefully out grow the value of the loan account.
Upon execution of the sale of the shares the BEE partner would received the difference between share value and loan account debt.
Shell is correct: Shell more than likely didn’t grow over last 25 years therefore their value remained stagnant while the loan account remained unserviced and growing, exceeding the value of the BEE shares.
One cannot decolonize maths and accounting.
I think thebe paid USD73 million to participate. Could be wrong but it sounds like they did inject cash, what i don't know is how steep the discount to participate was...
