I’m so touched by her true humility and sincere demeanor, attributing her amazing talent to and acknowledging God’s graces in her life - the very pillars of character that one should exemplify. Cecile grew up in the same Makati neighborhood with my brother, Augusto del Barrio. We’ve always known her and her sibs to be good, respectable kids. We crossed paths again in SoCal back in the 90s when my husband’s niece, Louise Cornillez, had a recital under her expert tutelage. What a blessing to have had her acquaintanceship! Ms Minda Azarcon, Cecille's Mom was my music teacher. I quit when she said I'd have a recital - the stage terrified me. My co-student that time went through with her recital, her husband present to support her. I was in the audience and gawked. That co-student was Gemma Cruz-Araneta
I continued singing but as a choir member of our school and Ms Minda Azarcon brought us to musical experiences that are now excellent memories. She was a very encouraging and accepting human being. Ms Cecille then was a pretty girl, just into her teens. It feels good watching her now in this interview...the memories are flowing of that time...
Thank God for the gift of music and musicians. ✝️🙏🏻 Amen.
