- Top of the Premier League table. 9 games in and still top of the table. Played Spurs, played United, played Liverpool, and are still top of the table. Second in the highest number of goals scored, second in most clean sheets, and second in the least goals conceded. Yet to drop a single point in Europe this season.
Really, what the heaven is going on with Arsenal?
Yes, we saw some improvement in the team towards the end of last season, but this was a team that had Champions League qualification in their hands and threw it away with just a handful of games to go. Now, just a matter of months later, they look like they really have a title charge in them.
How did it all turn around for the North London club? Let’s quickly look at a few things that have helped Arsenal have such a fine start to the 2022-23 season.

The goal last year was to get European football, we ended up competing for top 4 and the media criticised us for missing out on it. This year the goal is to get top 4 and the media are hyping us up as title contenders.. see where I’m going with this? Us fans are not fussed with the title charge “at this moment in time” (😉), it’s just great to see the atmosphere in the stadium and seeing the fans, players, and the management in harmony. After all, our slogan is Victoria Concordia Crescit (Victory grows out of Harmony).
I think city still gonna beat arsenal, if united it can, city can it easily but its for sure Arsenal is gonna get in the top 4 with Liverpool city and united

Honestly any team that wants play counter attack against the full 11 is going to get thrashed. That's the reality.

@@TommyVdz2022 I wouldn’t be so sure on that. Last time Arsenal played City we should have won. KDB and Silva were marked out of the game and they were very fortunate Gabriel had a brain fart. A penalty wasn’t given that should have been when it was 1-0 and then City got a fortuitous penalty to equalise. Haaland is likely ineffective without supply and that’s exactly what Arteta will try and do. Man for man with midfield and lets see what happens.

The moment i saw Martinelli play 2 years ago.. i knew we had a gem in the club. This guy works so hard reminds of Alexis Sanchez in his prime. 90min long he runs and fights for every ball its amazing! Many backs can't keep up with his high energy. I feel Martinelli should get more credit than he already gets. He is so important on that left side.
Also very happy with Jesus.. eventho he is still young, he is bringing alot of expercience to the team and works hard aswell. I love when strikers come back to help defend.
The defence is doing well, but i feel that it can crack any moment.. especially when Gabriel's brain starts to mallfunction.

we brought some great players....... but, I'm still convinced at least 70% of our success lies in the new mentality inside dressing room...... now, we concede a goal and the players barely notice...... no stress, no tension, no panic, no arguments between them...... no matter what the score is, the players always play with confidence and calm, as if they were leading by 3-4 goals...... not mentioning the fans at the stadium...... they've been truly the "12th player"

Solid allround players, were they are needed. Players with special skills were they are needed. A good dynamic game plan for individual teams, and a long term one. And good moral and leadership. Well arsenal had two not so great striker. The sold one that one skipped teams each season because he kinda is expendable. And then lacazette wasn't really that good either. Now they make some smart choices off season. With some good signings.

Arsenal will push hard for the Premier League title without a shadow of doubt. But what will actually define if they win the title or not is the players' abilities to handle pressure when they are nearing the finish line. It takes a different sort of mentality to cope up with pressure when you are seeing the finish line. Arsenal would need some experience and leadership to help the team sail through that period. That leadership is missing from these young players.

And that's almost exactly what happened last season. Partey, Tierney and Tomiyasu were all injured for a long period of time and that cost Arsenal the top 4. But if Kane and Son have long term injuries, I am damn sure Spurs ain't getting top 4 either. Same goes for United. If Maguire is injured, they can get top 4.

@@purnamamerindu8166 No, last year was the anomaly. From the mid 2000's to 2020 they would frequently be at the top of the league at Christmas but outside the top three by the end of the season. Last year was a one-off and the opposite of what they usually do.
