  • Welcome! This video is all about the 'Pushing' stage during birth. Should you push or not push? What do we mean when we speak about pushing in labour?
The Ferguson reflex (spontaneous pushing) and the Fetal Ejection Reflex, when a baby is born with just a few, very powerful surges/contractions.
In fictional, televised birth we have become used to seeing women lying on their backs being told to 'push' their baby out. But is this accurate? Is this really how birth works?
    No, not really.
Your brilliant body, if shown some respect, is more than capable of birthing your baby without somebody shouting at it.
So, this video is all about the fetal ejection reflex and the Ferguson reflex and learning to breathe throughout a normal physiological birth.
    xx
